2025/07/14 出版

Medicinal plants are widely used not only in pharmacothphones, but also in cosmetology, perfumes and pharmacology. In the field of drugs in Uzbekistan, the occupied calendula (Calendula offecinalis L.) is used in the preparation of an important medicine in both folk medications and formal medicine. Its flowers are used in many areas, such as calming in skin diseases, colds, cardiovascular system problems, women's health diseases, stomach-inteste. According to the analysis, Uzbekistan's soil-climatic conditions are very suitable for the cultivation of this plant.

CSM-CERES-Maize model (DSSAT v4.0)

2025/07/14 出版

In recent years, the use of crop models has grown exponentially for agro-climatic and site-specific resource management aimed at increasing grain yield. Among these models, CMS-CERES-Maize is one of the most prominent. However, limited academic literature exists on how to best utilize such simulation models to optimize yield in developing countries like Nepal. Calibration and validation using available datasets are prerequisites for effective application. Site-specific management of resources-such as nitrogen (dose, timing, and method) and water (amount and timing)-has been shown to increase maize yield while minimizing losses. Similarly, factors such as annual climate variation, sowing dates, and initial soil moisture content significantly affect yield performance. Findings from this study suggest that changes in the magnitude of climatic parameters can place stress on resource management systems, thereby affecting grain yield. This analysis contributes to a better understanding of this emerging field and may be particularly useful to professionals and others involved in agriculture.

Improving Productivity and Fruit Quality of 'Crimson Seedless' Grapes

To improve the fruit quality of 'Crimson Seedless' table grapes, the balance between vegetative and generative growth was regulated through varying nitrogen and potassium fertilization, pruning, and fruit thinning. Quality parameters such as dry matter, sugar content, acidity, anthocyanins, stilbenes, hydroxycinnamic acids, proanthocyanidins, and flavonols were evaluated. Fruit quality was positively influenced by reduced nitrogen fertilization and by combining fruit thinning with basal leaf removal.

Approximately 6 to 10% of groundnut kernels are destroyed by insect pests stored in bag.C. cephalonia popularly known as the "Rice meal moth" or the Flour moth belongs to the family Pyralidae and order Lepidoptera. The rice moth, C.cephalonica causes not only sanitation problem in warehouses but also hinders the commodities qualitatively and quantitatively. The creamy white larva starts feeding on the grains immediately after hatching. The larva damages the stored food by moving, feeding and leaving silken threads which later form dense and tough webbing.Pupation takes place either within the food source, in sacking or in crack-crevices in storage structures. The life cycle of rice moth takes around 4 days.

Pozzolanicity Enhancement in Sugarcane Bagasse Ash

2025/07/08 出版

In the present study, the agro-industrial waste sugarcane bagasse ash (SCBA) was identified as a principal raw material and utilized to develop the sustainable and energy efficient construction products. Many of the previous research studies have been optimized the SCBA content (i.e. partial cement replacement) in concrete production. The reviewed optimum replacement range of SCBA showed a large variation. Such a wide range of optimization is due to the variation in physico-chemical attributes of SCBA collected from different industry sources such as its source (origin), silica content, loss on ignition value, its combustion temperature & duration, and cooling temperature & duration. It reflects the need to investigate the true optimum content of SCBA in concrete production. The study shows significant potential and scope for utilizing the agro-industrial solid waste i.e. SCBA for the development of building construction material that is lighter in weight, durable, thermally insulated, non hazardous, energy efficient and sustainable.

Fundamentals of Horticulture

Angad,Garde  著
2025/07/08 出版

Fundamentals of horticulture practical manual cover essential horticultural techniques. It begins with plant propagation methods like seed sowing, cuttings, layering, and budding, emphasizing their applications and optimal conditions. Soil science fundamentals, including composition, pH, and nutrient management, are addressed through practical demonstrations of soil testing and amendment. Irrigation systems, from drip to sprinkler, are explored for efficient water use. Fruit identification and nomenclature and Garden tools identification. Pruning, training, and grafting techniques are explained for plant health and yield optimization. The manual also includes practical aspects of harvesting, post-harvest handling, and storage for various horticultural crops, ensuring quality and longevity. Specific crop categories (fruits, vegetables, ornamentals) and their unique requirements are often explored. Each section features hands-on exercises and observations to solidify theoretical knowledge, making it an invaluable guide for students and practitioners.

Edible Coatings to Minimize the Post Harvest Losses

Beulah,A M  著
2025/07/08 出版

This book explores the use of edible bio-based coatings-specifically casein, zein, and chitosan-to extend the shelf life of perishable fruits and vegetables such as guava, papaya, and tomato. It delves into how these coatings can delay ripening, maintain physicochemical and sensory quality, and reduce microbial spoilage, ultimately minimizing post-harvest losses. Through detailed analysis and experimentation, the book demonstrates the effectiveness of these natural coatings as a sustainable, eco-friendly alternative to conventional packaging. It presents edible coatings as a promising postharvest technology with practical applications in food preservation and supply chain enhancement.
