Multimachine Stability Analysis Using Swing Dynamics
The swing equation is essential for modelling and analyzing the power system dynamics, after being disturbed. Two types of stability i.e., voltage and power angle stability are considered to be vital in the study stability of power system. Power angle stability is being considered as matter of concern in this work. Power angle stability can be measured by analyzing the dynamics of swing equation. The existence of chaos in swing equation is a fact in power system. Chaos can drive the system power angle into instability, as chaos is a fundamental aspect of a nonlinear dynamical system. Instability can also result in a total shutdown of the system. This work presents a novel approach for stability analysis of multi-machine system using swing curve derived from an equation. The proposed method provides advanced techniques to detect instability in power system using swing dynamics and analyze their impact on stability. It reduces qualitative changes in dynamic systems when parameters vary, leading to shifts in stability and the emergence of new states. The stability and security of power systems are crucial for ensuring reliable electricity supply to consumers.
Portable Primary Current Injector for Circuit Breaker Testing
The primary current injector is a device used for efficient commissioning and maintenance tasks at substations. It brings equipment close to the device under test, automates current control, and requires only one operator. This injector performs various tests, including high-current testing using a secondary pass-through technique. A single conductor passes through the equipment to transmit current to the object being tested, reducing preparation time and eliminating power losses. The digitally generated variable frequency waveform is delivered with precision through a power amplifier, ensuring stable operation despite load and voltage fluctuations.Primary current injection testing is essential for large electrical installations like substations, where it injects high currents directly into systems such as circuit breakers. This test assesses system performance under different current loads, particularly testing over-current trip relays connected to circuit breakers. It simulates real-world conditions to ensure reliable breaker operation, preventing potential catastrophic damage from failures during high-current events.

Characterizing the Profile of Photovoltaic Distributed Generation
This research presents a study to characterize the profiles of photovoltaic distributed generation systems installed in the states that make up the Northern Region of Brazil, from 2013 to 2023. To analyze and extract data on the distributed generation profile of the Northern Region, the Sistema de Registro de Gera癟瓊o Distribu穩da (SISGD) platform on the website of the National Electric Energy Agency (ANEEL) was used. This online platform provides up-to-date information on distributed generation throughout the country and is accessible to the general public. The analysis of the results, using statistical data, identifies a growth in the installation of distributed generation systems in Brazil, especially photovoltaic systems, which is mainly due to the government incentives provided for in Normative Resolutions No. 482/2012 and No. 687/2015.
Control Technology of High Speed Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor
Taking high-speed PMSMs as the research object, in-depth study of control system has become an important part of industrial development. The main strategy used in high-speed PMSMs is the vector control system. The rotor position angle is precisely calculated through the control algorithm, thereby improving the operational stability of the system. However, the commonly used mechanical rotor position sensor not only increases the design cost of the vector control system, but also reduces the rotor position observation accuracy and reduces the reliability of the operating system. Using an algorithm to estimate the rotor angle requires the control system to collect accurate three-phase currents, decouple them according to coordinate transformation, and finally estimate the rotor position angle of the permanent magnet synchronous motor by expanding the back electromotive force. Commonly used rotor position detection methods include: sliding mode observer method, model reference adaptive method, and high-frequency signal injection method. For PMSMs with different speeds and different performances, the different algorithms used to observe the rotor position will have different accuracy.

Solar Autoirrigation System Using Soil Moisture Sensor Technology
The main objective of this book was to design a small scale irrigated system that would use water in more well-organized way in order to prevent excess water loss and minimize the cost of labor. The water saving was also an important feature, since there is demand to decrease water loss and to Maximize the efficiency used. The Power consumption must also be monitored. Soil moisture sensors will be placed inside the field, and it will be connected to the microcontroller. The moisture sensor will be continuously sensing the moisture content of the soil and sending it to the microcontroller, where moisture content value will be compared with predefine level. Now whenever the moisture level becomes less than the predefined level, microcontroller will send a command to activate the water pump. Same time microcontroller will activate GSM module, which will send a feedback message to user, stating that the "Pump ON". After the motor gets started and starts supplying water to the field; simultaneously the moisture sensor will be sensing the moisture content and sending the data to the microcontroller.

In response to the demand for the design and measurement of grounding loops in high-voltage substations, Measuring Ground Resistance and Ground Potentials addresses the basic concepts of an electrical grounding loop, measuring ground resistance and ground surface potentials in the loop. The procedures currently used for measurements will be shown, which are based on the IEEE Std. 81-2012 - Guide for Measuring Earth Resistivity, Ground Impedance, and Earth Surface Potentials of a Grounding System and ABNT NBR 15749-2009 - Measurement of grounding resistance and ground surface potentials in grounding systems. Finally, the aim of this work is to validate an existing method by means of a case study for a substation grounding grid with a supply voltage of 69kV, which seeks to provide a safe assessment of a system. The study is presented, containing real data obtained from carrying out the tests that will be mentioned.
Practical Exercises - Electromagnetism & Electrical Energy Calculators
After twenty-seven preceding sets of practical exercises laid forward in preceding manuscripts, I have inspired from my core ICT academic and research experience to produce this manuscript. Here, a successive set of 26 cohesively written practical exercises in softwares, directly related to Electromagnetism and Electrical Energy Calculators, is laid forward, in a similar style as in the preceding manuscripts. Such exercises apply better to beginner levels in university courses. Of course, its applicability to advanced level courses may be appreciated by many academicians to their discretion. It is retained here that adaptations of these exercises by academicians to their requirements is very possible. It is recommended for students to devise good/workable summary sheets for each exercise, along with writing proper report and referencing needed. For each exercise, a share of analysis is required to develop thinking and critical/professional abilities. Most exercises are devised for computers/laptops along with currently trending smart phones/tablets. Students must communicate properly with their coach, who in turn, are recommended to perform judicious follow-ups.

Classical Electrodynamics
Classical Electrodynamics captures Schwinger's inimitable lecturing style, in which everything flows inexorably from what has gone before. This anniversary edition offers a refreshing update while still maintaining Schwinger's voice. The book provides the student with a thorough grounding in electrodynamics in particular, and in classical field theory in general. An essential resource for both physicists and their students, the book includes a Reader's Guide, which describes the major themes in each chapter, suggests a possible path through the book, and identifies topics for inclusion in, and exclusion from, a given course, depending on the instructor's preference.Carefully constructed problems complement the material of the text. Classical Electrodynamics should be of great value to all physicists, from first-year graduate students to senior researchers, and to all those interested in electrodynamics, field theory, and mathematical physics. The original text for the graduate classical electrodynamics course was left unfinished upon Julian Schwinger's death in 1994, but was completed by his former students and co-authors, who have brilliantly recreated the excitement of Schwinger's novel approach. This anniversary edition has been revised by one of those original co-authors, Kimball Milton.

Electromagnetic Compatibility of Airborne Antennas Devices
In this monograph, the author makes an attempt to fill gaps in the solution of the problem of spatial decoupling of antennas by means of impedance decoupling structures. He presents the results of research about the electromagnetic fields of aperture antennas located on the common impedance surfaces, and about the development of techniques of synthesis of impedance structures and on their basis, the creation of decoupling devices providing the required electromagnetic compatibility of antennas. On the basis of the method of integral equations we solved the problems of analysis of radiation characteristics of a single antenna in the shape of the open end of a parallel-plate waveguide located on the impedance plane and on the surface of a circular cylinder. A similar problem is solved with the account of a receiving antenna with the same construction. Using the defined variations of distribution of the complete and scattered electromagnetic fields, we developed the techniques of synthesis of impedance decoupling structures for the antennas located on the common impedance plane and circular cylinder. Results of the comparative analysis of theoretical and experimental research.
Maintenance System Using Artificial Intelligence
This book presents a new proposal for load pre-dispatch considering the technical condition of the engines of thermoelectric power plants through the combination of several maintenance and diagnostic techniques based on computational intelligence via Fuzzy logic. The diagnosis of the technical condition of the engines is performed using lubricating oil analysis, vibration analysis, and thermography. With these data and statistical analysis, it is possible to foresee when an engine may fail even in pre-dispatch load. To increase the reliability of the motors and of the electric power supply, the Maintenance Management Program (PGM) was carried out, using management tools, applying only 4 pillars of TPM (total productive maintenance) and combining it with predictive maintenance and diagnostics, thus allowing the management to reduce the corrective shutdowns of the plant's equipment. Some results achieved after implementation are: reduction of annual maintenance cost, reduction of corrective maintenance, increase of MTBF (Mean Time Between Failures).
Teaching Electromagnetism
In the work presented in this book, a didactic sequence was used using resources that go beyond the traditional blackboard and chalk, such as experiments, in other words, teaching a different kind of lesson. The proposal was carried out with students in the third year of secondary school at the Jo瓊o XXIII State College, located in the municipality of Jani籀polis - Paran獺, Brazil. The results related to the process of teaching and learning physics, in particular electromagnetism, were analyzed using lessons based on an approach to the principles of how a telephone/cell phone works, in order to mediate the students' teaching and learning. The application of the sequence was based on interactionism, i.e. the methodological theory of Vygotsky's interactionist approach. This approach highlights the importance of social interaction with more experienced people who can mediate knowledge, contributing to the learning process. This work made it possible to analyze the teaching and learning process through the application of the didactic sequence, as well as the social relationships and experiences lived throughout it.

Electromagnetic Measurement, Positioning and Hyperthermia
This article aims to show the reader new technologies in cancer treatment, which are gradually becoming a reality. Magnetic hyperthermia consists of applying magnetic fields to tumours in an attempt to provoke apoptotic cell renewal, a less painful and more natural way of treating cancer. To focus the electromagnetic fields on a tumour and promote heating from the inside out, the author analyses different types of biocompatible implants to be inserted into the tumour site to serve as targets. From sutures currently used in surgical procedures to metallic nanoparticles, the author analyses the possibility of using different biocompatible materials in this technique. In addition, the author also suggests the electromagnetic instrumentation required for heating, commenting on the possibility of using aerospace technology to promote greater efficiency in the process. This work served as the Final Work for the Degree in Electrical Engineering, earning the author the title of Electrical Engineer.
Estudo do Coeficiente de Acoplamento de um Acoplador Triplo Triangular
This work presents an analysis of the coupling coefficient (C), observing the behavior of the fiber with three waveguides with a triangular arrangement, based on Photonic Crystal Fiber (PCF). The numerical study was based on solving the pair of equations for coupled modes using the Runge-Kutta numerical method. Initially, the propagation properties of ultrashort pulses with a temporal width of 100 femtoseconds (fs) of light in the form of fundamental solitons were investigated. Studies are also carried out measuring the critical power, observing the power variation during transmission and thus discovering the critical points.
Electric Energy Meters
This book work makes reference in the first chapter, about the first electric company in Ecuador, how it originated and what they used to generate energy at that time. The second chapter has concepts of the types, connections, characteristics and structure of an electric energy meter, whether it is electromechanical, electronic or intelligent. Finally, it explains the work that was done for the sustentation of this book.
Solar Installation
Electrical energy is becoming increasingly essential to modern life, especially in terms of development and comfort. Capturing the sun's rays and transforming them into electric current is now possible and easy, thanks to technological expansion in the field of solar voltaic panel manufacture. But then the great difficulty lies in storing the electrical energy produced. Storing electricity as efficiently as we can store water or petrol is impossible at present (solar PV or other energy sources). In solar systems, inter-seasonal storage is virtually impossible to implement. With a solar pump that runs on the sun, we can store water rather than electricity. New forms of storage may borrow from the properties of lithium-based intercalation chemistry.

A step-by-step description of the functions and configuration of the protection equipment is given, with a brief explanation of installation and commissioning.
ABB company relays and how they are used and function in circuits
Currently, the use of distributed intelligence with microprocessors that communicate through optical fibers and the use of personal computers as human-machine interfaces is common. Therefore, new developments are constantly being made in this area, and as a result, costs are reduced and performance is improved. In addition, more trained personnel are familiar with this new technology. The heavily centralized, top-down systems used in the 1960s and 1970s are no longer appropriate, as decentralized systems can more easily adapt to future changes than centralized systems. In addition, different generations of equipment made by different manufacturers can be easily combined in them. Updating or expanding such a distributed system is simple. For example, in the following, a comparison between a common electric high pressure post and a fully automatic high pressure post using digital technology has been made.
Eco-Fan
Eco-fan is an electric motor of 220 (VAC), 50 (Hz), PMSM type (with ferrite magnet rotor). According to the IRAM 62480:2017 Standard, an Energy Efficiency (EE) Type: A. With an energy consumption lower than 55% of the nominal value of the motor. Value calculated for one (1) hour per day at maximum power: 25 (Watts). 59% active electrical energy saving. The physical unit of physical measurement (MKS) shows an energy consumption of 15 kWh/month (kiloWatt-hours/month), at maximum speed, without losing or lowering revolutions per minute (close to 3000 RPM), which is the synchronous speed of the two (2) pole rotor with the frequency of the alternating current (50 Hertz). PMSM type motors (like the one used here) provide rotation at a fixed speed in synchronicity with the frequency of the power supply, regardless of the load fluctuation (higher or lower) that produces the resistant torque. The voltage (Volts) and current (Amps) of the current drops when the TRIAC acts; and anyway, the motor runs at a synchronous speed (3000 RPM) with mains frequency (50 Hz).
ArcGIS and ADMS, for control of Electrical Distribution Systems
The electricity distribution system with increasing energy demand needs to incorporate an automatic control and visualisation system, tools for decision making and problem solving, such as electrical faults in the network. This is achieved with the Arcgis platform that helps in asset statistics and in the planning or dimensioning of new feeders of the electrical network and as a base or support for automatic and monitoring systems such as the ADMS system, for which the present work studies its integration with Arcgis. The input of information of a three-phase radial feeder is shown, with the respective attributes of each element, obtaining real information from the site that was digitised, obtaining statistical data such as km of line, number of transformers, number of users, number of disconnectors, number of luminaires, with the purpose of simulating with real data. Additionally, the integration between Arcgis and ADMS and its different work modules that allow the management of actuators and sensors in real time is studied.

Electromagnetic Radiation
Electromagnetic Radiation is a graduate level book on classical electrodynamics with a strong emphasis on radiation. This book is meant to quickly and efficiently introduce students to the electromagnetic radiation science essential to a practicing physicist. While a major focus is on light and its interactions, topics in radio frequency radiation, x-rays, and beyond are also treated. Special emphasis is placed on applications, with many exercises and problems. The format of the book is designed to convey the basic concepts in a mathematically rigorous manner, but with detailed derivations routinely relegated to the accompanying side notes or end of chapter "Discussions". The book is composed of four parts: Part I is a review of basic E&M (electricity and magnetism), and presents a concise review of topics covered in the subject. Part II addresses the origins of radiation in terms of time variations of charge and current densities within the source, and presents Jefimenko's field equations as derived from retarded potentials. Part III introduces special relativity and its deep connection to Maxwell's equations, together with an introduction to relativistic field theory, as well as the relativistic treatment of radiation from an arbitrarily accelerating charge. A highlight of this part is a chapter on the still partially unresolved problem of radiation reaction on an accelerating charge. Part IV treats the practical problems of electromagnetic radiation interacting with matter, with chapters on energy transport, scattering, diffraction and finally an illuminating, application-oriented treatment of fields in confined environments.

This 2nd edition lays out an updated version of the general theory of light propagation and imaging through Earth's turbulent atmosphere initially developed in the late '70s and '80s, with additional applications in the areas of laser communications and high-energy laser beam propagation. New material includes a chapter providing a comprehensive mathematical tool set for precisely characterizing image formation with the anticipated Extremely Large Telescopes (ELTS), enabling a staggering range of star image shapes and sizes; existing chapters rewritten or modified so as to supplement the mathematics with clearer physical insight through written and graphical means; a history of the development of present-day understanding of light propagation and imaging through the atmosphere as represented by the general theory described. Beginning with the rudimentary, geometrical-optics based understanding of a century ago, it describes advances made in the 1960s, including the developmentof the 'Kolmogorov theory, ' the deficiencies of which undermined its credibility, but not before it had done enormous damage, such as construction of a generation of underperforming 'light bucket' telescopes. The general theory requires no a priori turbulence assumptions. Instead, it provides means for calculating the turbulence properties directly from readily-measurable properties of star images.
Relativistic Dynamics of a Charged Sphere
"This is a remarkable book. [...] A fresh and novel approach to old problems and to their solution." -Fritz Rohrlich, Emeritus Professor of Physics, Syracuse University This reexamination of the classical model of the electron, introduced by H. A. Lorentz more than 100 years ago, serves as both a review of the subject and as a context for presenting new material. The new material includes the determination and elimination of the noncausal behavior in the original equation of motion, and the derivation of the binding forces and total stress-momentum-energy tensor for a charged insulator moving with arbitrary velocity. The final equations of motion are given in a number of different formats to allow them to be readily used by physicists, engineers, and mathematicians.
A Modern Introduction to Classical Electrodynamics
A Modern Introduction to Classical Electrodynamics is suitable for undergraduate students with some background knowledge of the subject and for graduate students, while more advanced topics make it a useful resource for PhD students and researchers. The book places much emphasis on the formal structure of the theory; beginning with Maxwell's equations in the vacuum, it emphasises the central role of gauge invariance and Special Relativity. After introductory chapters which include rederivations of elementary results of electrostatics and magnetostatics, and the multipole expansion, Special Relativity is introduced, and most of the subsequent derivations are performed using covariant formalism and gauge potentials, allowing for greater conceptual and technical clarity compared to more traditional treatments. The second part of the book covers electrodynamics in material media. This includes Maxwell's equations in material media, frequency dependent response of materials and Kramers-Kronig relations, electromagnetic waves in materials, and scattering of electromagnetic radiation. Finally, the text also includes advanced topics, such as the field-theoretical treatment of classical electrodynamics as a modern treatment of radiation reaction. These parts are meant for the advanced reader and are clearly marked, and can be skipped without loss of continuity.

High-Energy Waveform Synthesis for Physics
The motivation to control and temporarily isolate a single quantum mechanical event like an electronic transition has driven the quest for ever shorter light pulses. Controlling a highly intense electric field in the visible to infrared wavelength range on a sub-cycle time scale becomes feasible with the concept of the parametric waveform synthesizer. High harmonic generation(HHG) is explored as a primary application with the aim to generate isolated attosecond pulses and high photon energies in the "Water Window" spectral region from 284 eV to 533 eV. The tight synchronization of pulses from optical parametric amplifiers (OPAs) spanning from 650 nm to 2200 nm is achieved with long-term synthesized waveform stability. To work out and monitor the ideal synthesis parameters, a set of characterization methods are developed in the time and spatial domain.
