Starch, as an Edible Coating in Food Preservation
Post-harvest losses of fruits and vegetables caused by microorganisms are high, due to the lack of technological resources and the absence of protection systems, which causes the low competitiveness of this value chain, directly affecting the economy of producers. For this reason, several researchers have focused on the search for new techniques that are environmentally friendly and extend the shelf life of products in the fruit and vegetable chain. The present work is the compilation of existing information on starch, its use and protective effect as an edible coating in fruit preservation, which comes from books, magazines, standards and electronic theses. Complementing the search with the reading and tracking of bibliography referenced in the selected documents, in order to provide a good base and a global vision of the topic, which are prioritized according to the hierarchy of scientific evidence. Based on the results obtained in different studies, it is deduced that starch is an interesting alternative for fruit preservation.
Development of a robot for exploring hazardous environments
The purpose of the collection robot is to help in situations where there is a threat to life, whether due to the suspicion of an explosive artefact, environments where there are flammable or toxic gases, allowing it to reconnoitre the environment using cameras and in some cases collect the material and take it to a safe place. Because it is remote-controlled, it has a supervisory system, allowing it to handle suspicious material without putting human life at risk. The components to be used in the robot's manufacture were chosen and its main characteristics and limitations identified, as well as the necessary adaptations. Then all the robot's hardware was assembled and its constructive capabilities were assessed, such as locomotion, moving the camera and the robotic arm, as well as reading sensors. The robot's capabilities include identifying the presence of smoke and some flammable gases in the environment, whether the object collected is emitting heat and, using the camera, recognising the environment and interacting with it by controlling the robotic arm and moving around. This work involves hardware, software and robotics.

Remote Sensing Observations to Improve Knowledge of Lithosphere-Atmosphere-Ionosphere Coupling during the Preparatory Phase of Earthquakes
This Special Issue Reprint focuses on the study of the preparation phase of earthquakes, searching for possible coupling between the lithosphere, atmosphere, and ionosphere before their occurrences. The topic is afforded by investigating data from the lithosphere (earthquakes' catalogs and seismic tomography), atmospheric parameters-especially from remote sensing satellites-and in situ ionospheric observations from China Seismo Electromagnetic Satellite (CSES-01) and Swarm constellations. Other satellite and ground data are used to corroborate the analyses and better understand the preparation phase of earthquakes across the world. Several methods of investigation are implemented, from statistical approaches to single case study analyses. Modern techniques, such as machine learning, are also applied to predict the standard value of the parameter under analysis and consequently detect possible anomalies eventually induced by earthquakes.

At present, water-lubricated bearings are widely employed in ships, submarines, water pumps and other fields. As the crucial support component of power systems, the performance and service life of water-lubricated bearings directly determines the efficiency and safety of ships in navigation. When a ship works on the sea, the shaft works under high-speed conditions. After being disturbed by the stern shaft and bearing's weight, the problems of poor lubrication, load capacity reduction, poor stability and serious friction are still present.
