Unmanned Ground Vehicles
Academic Paper in the subject Engineering - Robotics, language: English, abstract: This paper's goal is to give a concise overview of the various development streams that have led to the current status of the UGV area. Any piece of mechanized equipment that moves on the ground and is used to carry or transport something, but expressly does not carry a human body is considered a UGV in the broadest "dictionary" sense. Unmanned Vehicles are the common part of Military campaigns that reduce the load of soldiers. UVs (Unmanned vehicles) equipped with sensors, sonar, cameras and various algorithms provide real-time information which is helpful for the commanders to take quick decisions. Also, they provide access to the inaccessible areas in the enemy's territory. They are used in search operations as well as in the rescue operations. They provide day and night vision which is fed to their artificial intelligence pre-trained algorithms that predicts the output to give information. Multiple robots can be combined to increase their working efficiency in the adverse environments. Unmanned vehicles are ones that are in close proximity to the ground and run without the assistance of a human operator. The sensors on Unmanned Ground Vehicles comprise the operating system for research and rescue. The robot is a significant entity in this context because it can mimic team characteristics like collaboration and communication while acting independently and intelligently. UGVs are more efficient in combating terrorism and in remote locations. Unmanned Ground Vehicles help and enhance the front-line soldier positions. This robot's ability is mostly contingent on keeping the soldiers safe or, at the absolute least, reducing the amount of casualties sustained during combat.

Energy Abundance
Energy makes the world go round. In our society, however, energy management is in utter crisis. The energy demand is growing faster and faster while prices steadily rise, and our planet is being thoroughly polluted. So-called 'sustainable' energy innovations still bite the dust compared to fossil fuels. Moreover, they often damage nature in novel ways we aren't fully aware of. The availability of energy, in general, is becoming an ever-greater problem. However, in a technical sense, genuine solutions to the energy conundrum have long been invented. Since the era of Nikola Tesla (1856-1943), breakthrough energy technologies have been created by him and many others that could provide the world with an abundance of clean energy, continuously and everywhere on the planet. These technologies are completely free of pollution, free of limitation and free of monopolistic profits. For these reasons, the energy generated by these technologies is called free energy. Where does this energy come from? How do free energy technologies work? Who were the pioneers working on them? What is the current state of these technologies? Why do we hardly hear anything about them? These and other questions will be addressed in this book, which includes a general introduction to free energy, the rich history of the phenomenon, the pioneers who devoted their lives to it and the resistance they faced. Gradually, it will become clear that the crucial factor in adopting free energy is more than just a technical one. It involves our very consciousness as human beings. A new era of unprecedented possibilities is dawning where every aspect of our existence will evolve. Are we ready to open up to a world of energy abundance?

Recent Advances in Secondary Processing of Pharmaceutical Powders
Pharmaceuticals are becoming increasingly important in modern society. In most cases, active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs) are formed through crystallisation but need to be combined with excipients to form a tablet, or with carriers to form an oral suspension. The formation of tablets requires several secondary processing steps, such as milling of the API and mixing with excipients (often involving granulation) before finally being tabletted. Due to the differences in physical and mechanical properties that individual APIs and excipients exhibit, these secondary processing steps are often fraught with challenges. This Special Issue comprises 11 research articles and 1 review which outline the recent advances in secondary processing of pharmaceutical powders, and aims to enhance our understanding of powder behaviour and help us tackle these challenges. Through careful experimentation and the application of sophisticated computational techniques, the authors of these papers demonstrate advances in our understanding of many of the processing steps for pharmaceutical products. With this Special Issue, I hope to engage a broad readership in order to spark new ideas to further advance our knowledge of powder processing and to optimise production.
Federated and Transfer Learning Applications
The classic example of machine learning is based on isolated learning-a single model for each task using a single dataset. Most deep learning methods require a significant amount of labeled data, preventing their applicability in many areas where there is a shortage. In these cases, the ability of models to leverage information from unlabeled data or data that are not publicly available (for privacy and security reasons) can offer a remarkable alternative. Transfer learning and federated learning are alternative approaches that have emerged in recent years. More precisely, transfer learning is defined as the set of methods that leverage data from additional fields or tasks to train a model with greater generalizability and usually use a smaller amount of labeled data (via fine-tuning) to make them more specific for dedicated tasks. Accordingly, federated learning is a learning model that seeks to address the problem of data management and privacy through joint training with these data without the need to transfer the data to a central entity. With this in mind, this Special Issue of Applied Sciences provides an overview of the latest developments in this field.
The siren-like songs and the fairy tales of full electrification.
The siren call for full electrification lures people in with the simple and convenient-sounding claim that we only need to be able to provide enough renewable electricity and all energy issues will be solved, including mobility. However, even if the electrical grid is expanded up to a hundredfold, the systems generating the electricity would still have to be regulated to protect the grids from overload, because only as much electrical energy can be fed into the electrical grid as is being taken from the grid elsewhere at the same time. The enormous amounts of energy in the terawatt range that are to be generated by the planned wind turbines, which will then be stored by which technical solution, are being concealed. In the gigawatt to terawatt range, we really no longer need to talk about storage with batteries alone. The sustainable energy transition links the electricity sector with heat, gas products and fuels. Hydrogen is the link with Power-to-X.

Left to Our Own Devices
Unexpected ways that individuals adapt technology to reclaim what matters to them, from working through conflict with smart lights to celebrating gender transition with selfies. We have been warned about the psychological perils of technology: distraction, difficulty empathizing, and loss of the ability (or desire) to carry on a conversation. But our devices and data are woven into our lives. We can't simply reject them. Instead, Margaret Morris argues, we need to adapt technology creatively to our needs and values. In Left to Our Own Devices, Morris offers examples of individuals applying technologies in unexpected ways--uses that go beyond those intended by developers and designers. Morris examines these kinds of personalized life hacks, chronicling the ways that people have adapted technology to strengthen social connection, enhance well-being, and affirm identity.Morris, a clinical psychologist and app creator, shows how people really use technology, drawing on interviews she has conducted as well as computer science and psychology research. She describes how a couple used smart lights to work through conflict; how a woman persuaded herself to eat healthier foods when her photographs of salads garnered "likes" on social media; how a trans woman celebrated her transition with selfies; and how, through augmented reality, a woman changed the way she saw her cancer and herself. These and the many other "off-label" adaptations described by Morris cast technology not just as a temptation that we struggle to resist but as a potential ally as we try to take care of ourselves and others. The stories Morris tells invite us to be more intentional and creative when left to our own devices.

Networking Peripheries
An exploration of the diverse experiments in digital futures as they advance far from the celebrated centers of technological innovation and entrepreneurship. In Networking Peripheries, Anita Chan shows how digital cultures flourish beyond Silicon Valley and other celebrated centers of technological innovation and entrepreneurship. The evolving digital cultures in the Global South vividly demonstrate that there are more ways than one to imagine what digital practice and global connection could look like. To explore these alternative developments, Chan investigates the diverse initiatives being undertaken to "network" the nation in contemporary Peru, from attempts to promote the intellectual property of indigenous artisans to the national distribution of digital education technologies to open technology activism in rural and urban zones.Drawing on ethnographic accounts from government planners, regional free-software advocates, traditional artisans, rural educators, and others, Chan demonstrates how such developments unsettle dominant conceptions of information classes and innovations zones. Government efforts to turn rural artisans into a new creative class progress alongside technology activists' efforts to promote indigenous rights through information tactics; plans pressing for the state wide adoption of open source-based technologies advance while the One Laptop Per Child initiative aims to network rural classrooms by distributing laptops. As these cases show, the digital cultures and network politics emerging on the periphery do more than replicate the technological future imagined as universal from the center.

Signal Processing for Brain-Computer Interfaces
With the astounding ability to capture a wealth of brain signals, Brain-Computer Interfaces (BCIs) have the potential to revolutionize humans' quality of life by processing these brain signals for controlling external devices. Being an emerging and innovative field, BCIs offer numerous applications in various fields of life, including robotics, education, prosthetics, security and communication technologies. Processing neuro-physiological signals, a major component of BCIs, involves further procedures of (1) noise removal, (2) feature extraction and (3) classification. Pre-processed signals are subject to various noises, including power line noises, physiological noises, motion artifacts and interference noises. These noises can affect the efficiency of the entire BCI procedure. For this reason, noise removal algorithms are utilized for noise removal or reduction. Next, the process of feature extraction begins, in which algorithms are used to acquire relevant task-based features. This phase acquires data based on spectral, spatial and temporal domains. The last step for signal processing is classification, whereby the acquired and processed features are converted into viable commands, which ultimately control external devices. This reprint focuses particularly on these three signal-processing techniques.

Sustainable Production of Carbon Monoxide by Direct Current Gas Discharge
Carbon is the centerpiece in most chemicals and fuels. In light of climate change non-fossil paths to supply it are necessary. Carbon monoxide is a key molecule for carbon utilization. Forming it into hydrocarbons is an established process. Gliding arc plasma sources can produce it by 'warm' plasma, which has high reactivity and space-time yield at low energy input. The first part of this work deals with the construction and characterization of two gliding arc plasma sources and driver circuits. In the second part, they are used to split CO₂ into carbon monoxide and oxygen in a coaxial reactor utilizing a ceramic quench. Two new plasma processes are presented in the third part as less energy intensive alternatives: The calcination of a carbonates and simultaneous splitting of CO₂ by plasma as well as the gasification of organic solid waste coupled to reforming to syngas. In the fourth part, the processes are evaluated economically for a simplified example syngas-to-methanol plant.

Numerous studies have concentrated on improving microwave and radio frequency (RF) components, especially antenna systems, considered the foundation of wireless systems. Advanced communication antenna technology has significantly progressed in recent years, enhancing communication quality in home and business applications.
Recent Advances in Space Debris
The near-Earth space debris environment represents an existing hazard for human activities in space. The increasing number of man-made objects resident in orbit leads to a growing risk of collisions involving active spacecraft, which could cause anything from the loss of important functionalities to vehicle break-up and, in parallel, the fragmentation of satellites that are no longer operational. The scientific community worries that such a process may lead to large fragmentation events and a cascade effect that may prevent safe access to, and the exploitation of, entire orbital regions.Addressing the space debris problem and finding potential mitigation solutions is a challenge that requires the collaboration of all involved stakeholders. In this Special Issue, three of the main investigative lines concerning space debris are presented: (1) understanding the physical processes behind in-orbit fragmentation; (2) assessing the in-orbit population of space debris; and (3) developing mitigation strategies and enabling technologies that are used to remove end-of-life satellites.
Targeted
Pure, undeniable, sinister personalities today are at the helm of brilliant, advanced psychophysical technologies, who are inhumanely destroying the lives of men, women, and children. They are devoid of compassion believing it cannot be proven and this mentality officially sanctioned.Neuroweapons, Nanotechnologies, the Brain Computer Interface (BCI), Artificial Intelligence (AI), the planned future goal of Transhumanism are the foundation of ongoing human experimentation generation to generation. Testing has exploded progressing humanity towards what many experts consider "Digital Slavery".Pittman is left no choice but to continue exposing this program while under ongoing beamed assaults and high-tech terrorism, death threats to her and her family, combined with relentless efforts to tarnish her reputation. The historic FBI horrific discrediting of actress Jean Seberg, Martin Luther King, and others remains a highly effective tactic that is still used today with the exception of the widespread use of PATENTED, mind invasive technology designed to influence anyone useful which is the high-tech game changer. For Pittman, as a result, of publication of this seventh book, the deadly beamed weapon assaults game plan switched tactics. Yes, the military, FBI COINTELPRO, LAPD dirty cops' division still wants Pittman permanently silenced but with a twist. In Pittman's case, after publishing this book the subliminal influence of family, specifically her youngest adult daughter, began. This occurred through the high-tech recreation of an exaggerated event during divorce proceedings when she was a mere 3 years old, as having witnessed child abuse which was motivated by her father for custody well over 20 years ago. Also noted during text messages was this daughter saying she wish she was never born in the messy divorce situation, which immediately led to taunting to influence this daughter to commit suicide. The goal today, while official personnel monitor texting, sitting at the helm of a nefarious space-based system is to get documention by text message something useful which this program believes will serve them later. The obvious goal is, if Pittman is strategically murdered, the agencies mentioned as involved will leak accusations of child abuse. There has been an ongoing hope to effort to have this book series, her blogs and website taken down which, at her demise, her family would be influenced to do as well as the heirs. There are several articles detailing that memories can be and are being erased with new ones created as part of ongoing human experimentation. In fact, an article titled "Scientists discover how to implant false memories," Big Think, dated June 2016, the excerpt reads, "Implanting false memories could cure Alzheimer's, PTSD, and depression. It could also make scapegoating easier, allow for witness tampering, or give those under a brutal dictatorship false patriotism."The fact is, IF Pittman or any member of her family dies, this program, using beamed psychophysical weapon systems, that can manipulate and influence, anyone, anywhere on the face of the Earth is the culprit with those involved in this program, official covert, monstrosity, 100% responsible.Today the covert, high-tech destruction of lives across the country is happening rapidly. For instance, using the Hendricus Loos sexual stimulation patent, akin to Frankenstein science, the influence and creation of homosexuality is rampant, documented in this series previously, again, backed by subliminal influence of many public figures. Many unaware of the covert use or focus on them, in this decades long Nazi originated program are being systematically destroyed right before our very eyes combined with their choice to follow beamed influence.Make no mistake, THEY will Kill!
