Between Two Worlds
This is the first book to explore, through personal accounts and vignettes, the rare moments of humor that unexpectedly pop up during the caregiving of people suffering from Alzheimer's and related dementia. Young brings the courageous experiences of care providers and relatives to life as they encounter the challenges of dealing with these seriously afflicted patients. At the same time she reveals the touching and gently humorous moments that go a long way to ease the tension and pain. While respectful of the plight of affected families and patients, Young gathers a timeless collection of "fear busters" that "access mirth" with touching chapters such as "Please Don't Eat the Marigold," and "I've Just Found Out I'm in Baltimore." "By staring the Alzheimer's monster down and even laughing a little in the face of it," Young says, "we bolster our courage and release the chemicals (endorphins) in ourselves to gain a sense of well-being in the face of adversity." A must for all caregivers and families, this is truly a book that, once started, cannot be put down.

When the Body Whispers
Long before a diagnosis appears, physiology adapts. The body compensates, protects, and finds ways to carry on. These early signs are often misread until they become impossible to ignore. In When the Body Whispers, physician and wellbeing specialist Dr Jasmin Tzortzakakis Malik offers a deeply human and scientifically grounded exploration of what happens when we override the body's early signals of imbalance, and explores what becomes possible when we learn to hear them again.Integrating neuroscience, physiology, trauma science, various aspects of psychology, and lived experience as both doctor and patient, this book examines how chronic stress, grief, trauma, long-term health conditions, post-viral illness, and sustained overload reshape the nervous system, drain energy, and erode resilience over time. Fatigue, burnout, anxiety, immune vulnerability and illness are reframed as adaptations, early warning signs and feedback from a body that has been asked to endure too much for too long.At the core of the book is the Adaptive Integration Framework model, which understands healing as an adaptive spiral. One that integrates science with story, regulation with meaning, and compassion with agency. Rather than promising quick fixes, When the Body Whispers invites readers into a steadier, more sustainable relationship with their health, one rooted in safety, rhythm, and awareness.Through reflective narratives, accessible science, and practical tools drawn from the Your Health Comes First programme, Dr Malik guides readers to: Recognise the body's early warning signals before crisis takes holdUnderstand how stress and trauma live in the nervous systemRestore balance through pacing, regulation, and recoveryRebuild energy without pushing, forcing, or collapsingThis book is written for those who have kept going when stopping felt impossible. For clinicians as well as non-clinicians, carers, high achievers, and anyone living in survival mode. When the Body Whispers is a call for prevention, presence, and compassion.A reminder that health cannot be earned after productivity; it is the ground that makes everything else possible.
Disturbances Of The Heart
Disturbances of the heart examines selected ideas from the provided text to present a focused understanding of how cardiac disorders are interpreted within a clinical framework. This summary concentrates on the book's central intention to explain heart dysfunction as a dynamic interaction between bodily processes, external influences, and measurable changes such as blood pressure. The work emphasizes that effective cardiac care depends on observing patterns rather than cataloging anatomy, guiding practitioners to study how the heart responds to strain, illness, and treatment. It highlights the value of monitoring circulation, identifying variations in pressure, and recognizing how these indicators help clinicians anticipate complications. The text portrays heart disturbance as a broader physiological concern shaped by lifestyle, environment, and the body's compensatory mechanisms. Through its practical orientation, the book encourages readers to approach cardiac issues with disciplined reasoning and an appreciation for the evolving nature of medical knowledge. This approach frames heart care as a continuous process of evaluating symptoms, testing responses, and refining judgment so practitioners can better support recovery and maintain stability in patients.

The Essential Guide to Cardiovascular Health
India stands at the epicentre of a devastating and largely silent health emergency. Every year, an alarming 272 lives per 100,000 people are lost to cardiovascular disease (CVD), making it the leading cause of death in the country. In a nation of over 1.4 billion people, this translates into millions of families affected by heart attacks, strokes, chronic illness, disability, and premature loss. Yet despite its scale and severity, heart disease is often misunderstood, underestimated, or discovered far too late. This is an epidemic no one can afford to ignore. What makes the crisis more troubling is that much of cardiovascular disease is preventable, manageable, or reversible when addressed early and correctly. The real challenge lies not only in access to healthcare, but in access to clear, reliable, and practical knowledge. Medical jargon, confusing test results, and contradictory advice often leave patients and caregivers overwhelmed, anxious, and unsure of what steps to take next. The path to heart health should not feel like a maze. This essential and accessible guide is designed to change that. It transforms complex cardiac science into simple, actionable understanding, empowering readers to make informed decisions about their heart health. Written in plain language and grounded in real-world concerns, the book is meant for patients newly diagnosed with heart conditions, caregivers supporting loved ones, and anyone who wants to protect their heart before problems begin. The book offers a comprehensive yet easy-to-follow overview of major cardiovascular conditions, including Coronary Artery Disease, Hypertension, Stroke, Arrhythmias, and heart failure. It explains what these conditions are, why they occur, how they progress, and how they are diagnosed-without overwhelming the reader. Common symptoms are clarified, myths are addressed, and warning signs that should never be ignored are clearly highlighted.Beyond diagnosis, the guide focuses strongly on control and prevention. Readers are walked through the role of lifestyle choices such as diet, physical activity, sleep, stress management, and tobacco use, alongside the importance of medications and regular monitoring. It explains how small, consistent changes can significantly reduce risk and improve quality of life. Special attention is given to the realities of heart disease in the Indian context, including genetic risk, urban lifestyles, dietary patterns, and access to care.Importantly, this book does not promote fear-it promotes confidence and clarity. It helps readers understand medical reports, ask the right questions during doctor visits, and actively participate in their treatment plans. By replacing uncertainty with knowledge, it encourages a proactive rather than reactive approach to heart health.Your heart health is too important to leave to chance, confusion, or delay. Whether you are seeking answers after a diagnosis or looking to prevent disease before it starts, this guide offers a trusted roadmap. The time to take control is not tomorrow or someday-it is now.

Tylenol and Autism
Tylenol and Autism: Evidence, Scientific Blunders, and Medicine Gone Wrong by William Parker, PhD, is a provocative, evidence-focused investigation into the disputed "Tylenol autism link"--the hypothesis that acetaminophen (Tylenol/paracetamol/APAP) exposure can trigger autism spectrum disorder (ASD) in biologically susceptible babies and young children. Rather than relying on a single study, Parker organizes roughly 30 distinct lines of evidence across pharmacology and metabolism, human associations involving time/place/behavior, laboratory animal neurodevelopmental toxicity, and additional observations--then weighs that total body of evidence against alternative explanations and common objections. The book digs into proposed mechanisms (including early-life limits in detoxification pathways, oxidative stress-linked susceptibility, and gut-brain effects) and emphasizes "timing of risk" from pregnancy through labor/delivery and early childhood. Beyond the science, it examines the logic of the controversy--how statistical mistakes (such as misclassifying interacting variables as confounders), peer-review failures, and conflicts of interest can shape medical consensus. In Tylenol and Autism, Dr. Parker confronts, with intelligence, honesty, and bravery, what is an undeniably culturally and politically explosive issue intensified by the 2025 White House spotlight on acetaminophen and autism.

Cellular and Molecular Mechanisms in Immune Regulation
This is a Reprint of the first edition of the Special Issue on "Cellular and Molecular Mechanisms in Immune Regulation" published by the journal Cells in 2024-2025. The reprint starts with a review of the latest advances in molecular mechanisms of immunity and the effect of X chromosome loss in immune function. Next, we focus on autoimmunity by exploring the use of circular RNAs as biomarkers in multiple sclerosis and the role of circulating T cell subsets in Type 1 diabetes. We conclude reviewing the part played by lipid biosynthesis metabolism in the inflammatory response mediated by microglia in neurodegeneration and wound healing in the central nervous system. The importance of Immune regulation for preventive medicine is highlighted by a review on the interactions of T follicular helper cells and B cells and their role in the control of viral infections and vaccine design. Next, we explore how immune cell populations affect the prognosis of cancer patients treated by Immunotherapy using immune check point inhibitors. We conclude this part with an emphasis on tissue resident memory T cells (TRMs) and their potential in the control of cancer metastasis. The Special Issue concludes with articles highlighting the interactions between the environment and the immune system, specifically on the generation of tolerogenic dendritic cells mediated by oxygen tension in tissues and exposure to ultraviolet light (UV) on the skin. Thus, this reprint provides a glimpse of the multi-cellular immunoregulatory networks implicated in autoimmune diseases, infection and cancer as well as during normal interactions with the environment.

Autism Causes Unveiled
The Book Destined to End the Autism Epidemic is Finally Here. For over a century, autism has remained a profound medical mystery, its causes debated and misunderstood. In Autism Causes Unveiled, author Dinesh Danny cracks this century-old enigma, exposing the hidden truth behind the autism epidemic and offering a groundbreaking perspective never explained before. The evidence is all around us, yet it has been meticulously concealed by a carefully managed narrative. And no, it's not what you think. It's not primarily vaccines. The real culprit is a traumatic brain injury at birth-a catastrophic event hidden by the birth process itself and deliberately buried by those with the most to lose from birth injury litigation. The proof is hiding in plain sight, embedded within the warnings on the label of the only FDA-approved labor induction drug: Pitocin. The exact way this tragedy unfolds in maternity wards is laid bare through the author's deeply personal story with his two sons, both impacted by this birth injury. This book is a deep dive into the shocking truth: The True Cause: Discover the actual mechanism of injury from labor drugs and the hospital protocols that are being ignored.A Flawed Theory Exposed: Uncover why the genetic origin theory based on identical twins is fundamentally flawed and why this skyrocketing neurodiversity is a direct result of systemic obstetric malpractice at birth. The Damaged Brain: Learn how fundamental neuronal tracts are being damaged and severed, leading to the disconnected brain that defines autism. The Vaccine Connection: Understand the complex interplay of vaccines with a pre-existing brain injury, and how they can make brain damage more permanent by stopping recovery"Autism Causes Unveiled" is essential reading for anyone touched by autism- parents, well wishers, caregivers, physicians of all specialities, birth injury lawyers, politicians, and health officials. It's for everyone with an interest in learning more about the biggest medical crisis in the history of the world.

Neurotoxicity Guidebook
This book was written to inform the educated public about the potential hazards of neurotoxic substances. The impetus for this book was a telephone call in June, 1988, from Mr. Robert Esposito of Van Nostrand Reinhold. He wanted to know if I would be willing to write a book on neurotoxicity that would be suitable for industrial hygienists, safety professionals, occupational health personnel, and others interested in neurotoxicity, including psychologists, neuropsychologists, physicians, risk analyzers, and government regulators.
