The educator, play and the teaching-learning process
The aim of this study was to investigate the use of play as a tool for the teaching-learning process of students, by Early Childhood Education teachers in an Early Childhood Education Centre. It also sought to observe the importance of play and the perception that teachers and parents have of it. At first, the assumption was made that the teachers' initial training was deficient and that they were therefore using play only to pass the time or keep the children occupied and/or quiet. This hypothesis did not materialise, as the teachers are all pedagogues and have postgraduate degrees, but it was noticed that none of them had taken a course on this subject during their undergraduate studies, and in their continuing education, most of them had never taken a specific course on play in Early Childhood Education. It was possible to conclude that the teachers make use of play in early childhood education and that both they and the parents have a good perception of the importance of these activities for children's development. However, it is known that playfulness is a very broad field that deserves more attention from educators.

Modernity and Regulation in the Education of Young Children
This book presents contributions from research carried out in 2015 at the Federal University of Santa Catarina (UFSC/Brazil). Its purpose was to investigate the regulatory processes inherent in the functioning of an early childhood education institution and, on the other hand, to highlight the children's point of view, i.e. how the regulatory forms, materialized by rules and norms, are placed in the educational unit and how the children perceive, understand and operate with them. Based on a dialog established between the data generated in the field and the theoretical framework of Boaventura de Sousa Santos, Erving Goffman and Michel Foucault in an interface with studies in the field of the Sociology of Childhood and a Pedagogy of Childhood, it was found that, even though they are constrained by the impositions of rules and norms created by older subjects, children subvert the logic of adults and assert their interests, making their cultural universes explicit. Children use the most varied strategies, based on their imaginative repertoires, their experiences and their games, to go beyond the order imposed by modern rationality.

The project was conceived as a collaborative learning space through a process of co-creation of digital books between teachers and students, using AGI tools for the creation of educational content. The structure of the project was articulated around the use of AGI systems based on natural language processing, promoting a comprehensive understanding of the capabilities and limitations inherent to these emerging technologies. The process focused on critical interaction with AGI, where participants were not only involved in the generation and revision of texts produced by the machine, but also reflected on aspects of authorship, originality and ethics. The resulting products, a diverse collection of digital books, reflected not only the convergence of humans and machines in co-creation, but also demonstrated the utility of AGI in enriching teaching and learning across a broad spectrum of academic disciplines.

(Re)Meaning of Continuing Education for Teachers
Continuing education in Brazil has been searching for its real meaning and stability for centuries, but it is clear that this has not been an easy task. This book aims to clarify relevant aspects of Continuing Education, an educational modality that is so widespread but often misunderstood. The methodology employed in this regard is based on bibliographical research and literary analyses from scientific journals and books. The importance of the PIBID project in the training of teachers and undergraduates
With the aim of bringing basic education and initial and continuing teacher training closer together, the CAPES (Coordination for the Improvement of Higher Education Personnel) instituted the PIBID (Teaching Initiation Scholarship Program) in 2007. The program is proving to be of great importance in understanding the meaning of the educational process for teachers in training. At the Federal Institute of Education, Science and Technology of Rio Grande do Norte - IFRN/Campus Apodi, the program is being developed in two state schools. The qualitative evaluation of the project seeks to establish the program's real contributions to the continuing education of the supervising teachers, as well as the initial education of the Chemistry undergraduate students. The analysis was carried out through interviews with participants, as well as the application of questionnaires that met the demands proposed by the work. The program broadens discussions about educational concepts in teacher training and seeks to improve the quality of teaching and learning by disseminating the activities developed in the program to the academic and scientific community.
The Educational Career of Black Students at University
The publication of this work is timely as it presents the factors that led to the permanence of black students at the Teacher Training Centre (CPF) of the Federal University of Rec繫ncavo da Bahia. By analysing the questions relating to what are/were the decisive factors for the inclusion of these black students in the UFRB and what were the conditions for these students to remain in higher education? Our focus was on the interface between the subject and belonging, a focus that brought us back to the multiple implications in the construction of identity and a sense of belonging, centred on the struggle of Afro-descendants in the academic sphere. This leads us to affirm that the association between blackness and university students will not go unnoticed between ethnic-racial relations and academic institutions, since over the centuries the relationship with these students has been that of researchers and objects of study, thus relating their life trajectory to their Afro-descendancy within institutions, making it clear that there are social, cultural and economic factors for the perception of themselves as Afro-descendants in a Brazilian society.

The Igua癟u River is an important public asset in terms of its social, historical, economic and environmental aspects for the municipalities of Uni瓊o da Vit籀ria (PR) and Porto Uni瓊o (SC). The aim was to highlight these characteristics of the Igua癟u River through the socio-environmental perceptions and social representations of primary school children living in the urban areas of these two municipalities. The children's environmental perceptions of the river's waters can be analysed. The children's expressions showed that very little is studied in the school environment in relation to the Igua癟u River, as well as educational practices based on Environmental Education in favour of this river. This reinforces the need for a study such as this one, which can support local education and strengthen studies on Environmental Education, especially in relation to the environmental aspects of the Igua癟u River.

Technology-Enhanced Instruction Upon Mathematics Skills Attainment
The purpose of this study was to compare the impact of technology-enhanced instruction against non-technology-enhanced instruction in the attainment of mathematics skills by eighth-grade students. Four research questions were investigated: to what extent is there a difference between eighth graders learning mathematics with educational software versus those learning without it? Are there any differences between the gain scores of groups' pretest-posttest WASL Mathematics? Does the use of mathematics educational software improve student's self-perception of mathematics competency? Are there any differences between the Gain scores of Groups on the Pretest and Posttest Self-Perception on the Mathematics Competency Survey? To evaluate mathematics skills, the researcher used a pre-posttest survey of 19 questions and a standardized WASL sample practice test of 42 questions at the beginning and end of the study period. A total of 41 eighth-grade students (23 females and 18 males), ages 13 to 14, participated in this study. The research design utilized a quasi-experimental study with a control group and a treatment group.

This master's dissertation, a qualitative and quantitative study, aims to discuss and contribute to the educational community in terms of the quality of services provided by HEIs in the municipality of Marab獺. With reference to the commercialization of higher education. This is a challenge for both the service provider and the recipient, in terms of writing, interpreting, observing and receiving the services provided. Based on the following problem, how have these services been provided? Has it achieved its goals and objectives in providing higher education services in the municipality of Marab獺? What difficulties do students face? Has the methodology used by this HEI been successful in providing services? These questions formed the theoretical framework for this dissertation. In the course of the research, several points were made. As for the teachers, students and staff in their testimonies reporting their misfortunes in the work of the HEI.

Methodology for teaching and learning electrical circuits
Electricity is an area of physics that is most relevant to everyday life. Given its usefulness in everyday life, it would be essential not to understand it. However, in order to be successful in learning it, motivations must be put in place that lead students to become interested in knowledge. The aim of this work is to develop a methodological proposal to minimize the weaknesses in the teaching and learning of electrical circuits in the school where the research was carried out. In terms of its nature, it is based on qualitative-quantitative research, using theoretical, empirical and statistical methods. For this investigation, data was collected through observation, documentary analysis and a questionnaire with closed answers, which enabled the weaknesses in the teaching and learning of Electrical Circuits to be identified. Finally, it includes a methodological proposal based on solving exercises and carrying out experiments.

The importance of students knowing how to express themselves in order to interact with the reality in which they live is fundamental: the school radio becomes a tool with multiple functionalities that offers the possibility of contributing to the integral development of the students. Through a real experience in the Andalusian public school, this work intends to transfer to its readers the necessary steps to be able to constitute a school radio with guarantees, with almost no costs and giving it the capacity to be sustainable in time. Learning through the airwaves means providing students with a rewarding experience in which families and the rest of the participating agents of the educational community can feel part of the various advances achieved in each phase of the project. The recognition of this initiative was reflected in the awarding of the XXVII Joaqu穩n Guichot Prize, from the Department of Education of the Regional Government of Andalusia (Spain), to the project called "RadioEscuela: investigar, expresarse y aprender a trav矇s de las ondas", whose authorship corresponds to the creator of this work, based precisely on the experience lived during the course of the same.

In order to preserve the environmental quality of a landfill site, it is necessary to collect and properly treat the leachate produced by the landfill. Given the complexity of these leachates and increasingly stringent environmental standards, it is difficult to purify them using just one treatment technology. A combination of different treatment processes is often required to effectively treat leachates and comply with the strict discharge standards to which they are subject.The aim of this work is to convey to waste management decision-makers an approach for the adequate treatment of leachates using a combination of biological treatment and the reverse osmosis system, and to meet the requirements of effluent discharge standards in the natural environment. It will also be of benefit to municipalities planning to build new controlled landfills, drawing on experience gained from the Moulay Abdellah controlled landfill.
