Positionalities of Translation Studies
This volume explores historical, cultural, linguistic, and anthropocentric influences on Translation Studies (TS). It brings together nuanced, individual, self-reflexive case studies and juxtaposes them in order to provoke discussion on the role of contemporary researchers in the discipline of TS. As well as reflecting on the historical and geographical dimensions of the situatedness of TS, the book builds on existing reflections on the local, political and linguistic positions of TS and examines the practical and methodological consequences of these discussions. By considering insights and perspectives from various disciplines, the contributors refer to the current state of the art in TS and reconstruct the discussions held on Eurocentrism, anthropocentrism and the historicity of TS that have been discussed in isolation so far. This volume maps potential relations between them and introduces an analytical concept of positionality that highlights commonalities among various discourses. As well as theoretical and historical analysis, the contributors ask how to methodologically deal with this inevitable positioning of research in contemporary research practice. The contributions cover various aspects of positionalities and its influences on translation research, including gender, anthropocentrism, experiential knowledge and geopolitics. They also explore various histories of translation studies, in different temporal, spatial and linguistic settings, such as China/Chinese, Iran/Persian, the Netherlands/English, Ukraine/Ukrainian/Russian and France/French, thereby highlighting that TS as a discipline is not a monolith but consists of various histories interconnected with each other.

Write Through It
Discover what every new and aspiring author needs to know about the publishing industry and how to navigate all the complicated feelings that come with writing a book in this no-nonsense guide from literary agent, author, and creator of the popular newsletter Agents & Books Kate McKean. Writers all want the secret to getting published: the magic formula for a query letter, the list of agents who will instantly say yes, and the perfect marketing campaign to hit "The List." But writing is about so much more than the intellectual act of putting pen to paper--writers also deserve reassurance that the emotional highs and lows of writing is a normal, valid part of the process. And it might seem easier to focus on the nuts and bolts of writing books--word counts, query letters, and author platforms--than the messy feelings that accompany writing like doubt, fear, and hope, but the two things are inextricably linked. Write Through It is a candid, actionable guide to navigating the rollercoaster ride of writing and publishing, both on and off the page. Literary agent and author Kate McKean has been educating authors and demystifying publishing for years in her popular newsletter Agents & Books, and now, in these pages, she walks writers of all genres through every stage of the writing and publishing process and its accompanying emotional moments. From the uncertainty of knowing when you should stop fiddling with your book and start pitching to agents to how to deal with the sting of rejection and the elation (and fear) of getting a book deal, Write Through It covers it all. Drawing from her own extensive experience, McKean goes beyond the practicalities of writing and publishing to address the less-talked-about emotional side of the journey. This book is a must-read for any writer looking to understand the full spectrum of the writing life.
Modern and Contemporary Poetry
Modern and contemporary poetry reflect shifting cultural, political, and personal landscapes, marked by experimentation in form, voice, and subject. Modern poetry broke from tradition by embracing fragmentation, ambiguity, and introspection, often influenced by war, industrialization, and existential thought. Poets like T.S. Eliot and Ezra Pound challenged linear narratives and traditional meter. Contemporary poetry further expands boundaries, incorporating spoken word, digital platforms, and multicultural voices. Themes such as identity, displacement, environmental crisis, and social justice are explored through diverse lenses. Innovations in language and form allow poets to address complex realities with intimacy, urgency, and artistic freedom.

Unveiling the Impact of Concept Mapping on Reading Comprehension
Since reading maintains information acquisition, it is considered an essential skill. Reaching the ultimate goal of reading-reading comprehension-is not always assured, though, as was the case for a large number of master students of English at Biskra University. They possessed insufficient reading skills that may allow them to address the text's reading comprehension questions improperly and/or superficially. Therefore, the current study sought to determine the impact of employing the concept mapping strategy on the reading comprehension of the study's sample, which consisted of 26 students. The study adopted a mixed-methods approach, involving quasi-experimentation and a case study design. In this regard, pre- and post-treatment questionnaires, tests (pretest and posttest), and teacher interview were used to collect data. Research findings revealed that the participants had a variety of reading comprehension obstacles that might be caused by a variety of factors. Besides, the practicality of the concept mapping strategy was statistically reflected in the posttest scores, which were noticeably higher than the pre-test scores.
