As I Live
This book gives an insight into the hilarious antics of some elderly folk in a residential home. It has to be understood that none of the characters exist and the write is very 'Tongue in Cheek', with no intention of portraying what goes on in this book as intending to portray reality. This write is reality gone mad and derived from the author's imagination. In this book the reader will meet such characters as the formidable Mrs. Anderson, Humpy-Jack and Jim-Jams, elderly folk whom represent those that Doctors and Nursing Staff would not care to meet, they are the lost souls of St. Trinians and the residential home is where they are placed, to continue a life of mayhem. Ron S King.
Cheesy Wotsits and the History of Western Philosophy
"Jean-Paul Sartre had eyes that looked in different directions, so you never really knew in which direction he was philosophising." This book is about nothing. In mathematics there's only one way for nothing to exist, but there are an infinite number of ways for there to be something. So "something" is therefore more stable than "nothing". Which means that the more cluttered the universe is, the more stable it becomes. Does this mean that clutter is good? Brian Luff sets out to prove that it does. Along the way he walks us through a card-carrying Philistine's view of Western philosophy. There'll also be football, internet dating, yoghurt- making and hundreds of bags of low fat cheese puffs. Plus, how do you play the game of Pogs, and what constitutes the perfect piece of toast? If all this sounds a bit complicated, don't worry, he dumbs it down quite a lot. Cheesy Wotsits and the History of Western Philosophy will change your life for at least ten minutes.

Great Little Book of Dirty Spanish Words
So, I had 5 years of Spanish in High School and College, only to learn that I really couldn't understand most of what I heard. It was only when I was introduced to the Spanish cuss words that I realized that there was more to Spanish expletives than "Ah Caramba!" From a strictly academic perspective this book will fill you in on the rich and varied vocabulary of Spanish vulgarities, but it should also help you to converse more effectively with your Hispanic friends. For those words and phrases which are only understood in a cultural context, we explain their usage and include sample sentences. As anyone who speaks more than one language knows, words don't always translate precisely. In Spanish that's particularly true of curse words. Many Spanish swear words and insults cover similar territory to their English counterparts. English speakers, on the other hand, might have a hard time understanding. Swear words. It's an art and science that can only be perfected with experience.
Back In Da' Day
Growing up Back in Da' Day, was a good time for us. We had some good days, fun days, and we had bad days, but we made it through with prayers from all around. I miss the good ole days. They're the days of old that I will always cherish and never forget. I thank God for the days when people truly cared for one another. The days when kids could just be kids and enjoy life. The days when parents still taught their children about love and respect. Respect for yourself and for your elders. I thank God for giving us the opportunity to go to school, learn, and get an education. I thank God for bringing us up in church to learn about who God is and how to lean and depend on Him. If it wasn't for me knowing who God is, I wouldn't be where I am today. I thank God for blessing me with these prayers to share with you and the generations to come. God is so good and He has always provided me with the resources and the time to write. I hope you enjoy what He has given me in this book, Back in Da' Day.As you read and reflect, I pray that our children and grandchildren will have a chance to live life like we did Back In Da' Day. I pray that everyone that picks up this book of prayers will say, "OMG! I remember my mother or father saying those words". There are some hilarious quotes and phrases and some just plain telling the truth. This is a Bible scripture that stays on my mind that I would like to share with you all, it's "If My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and forgive their sin and heal their land." 2 Chronicles 7:14 New King James Version (NKJV) Let's live life like we were living Back In Da' Day, but living with much less stress and the hope of a glorious future!

The Little Book of HP Lovecraft
Howard Phillips Lovecraft had a short life, and he died of cancer in 1936 at the age of 46. But in that relatively short time he had a significant, varied and outstanding output, and although he was not a well-known writer during the time he lived, he has since been hailed as one of the great supernatural fiction writers. Although a huge influence on many writers since his death, and now someone with significant book sales every year, Lovecraft never managed to make a living from writing during his lifetime. Lovecraft spent much time battling various physical and mental issues, but he was able to form bonds and relationships with key people in his life, some of which influenced his thinking and his work. These included his mother, grandfather, aunt, wife and famous figures from the time including Harry Houdini and Robert E Howard; comments from many are included. Lovecraft's sensitivity comes through in his writing, and this book also contains numerous quotes from his famous fictional works. Samples from his poems, letters and other writings serve to paint a full portrait of this master of his chosen genre, horror, but who also contributed significantly to science fiction and fantasy; he truly possessed outstanding talent, as celebrated inside.

Genes Skunks and Heroes
In "Genes Skunks and Heroes," Allen Hayes ponders the enormity of the question, "What has to happen for people to treat each other better?" Follow his story, as an incredible, yet plausible, series of events conspire to place him in the position to deliver an incredible gift that will shape the course of mankind. From his initial brush with mortality, Allen Hayes adopted the unsupportable belief that he would be the first person to escape the inevitability of death. A poorly founded conviction for sure, but more a matter-of-fact opinion than a fanatical obsession. A bizarre series of events combine to deliver him to the doorstep of a life altering decision. The young man is faced with a choice to knowingly put his own life in mortal peril to forever change the path of humanity for the better. The trials of his ordeal imbue him with an unparalleled perspective. His unique viewpoint provides a platform for him to consider the question; What has to happen for people to treat each other better? The difference between the enabling of a quality life and the mere duration of a lifetime, frames the internal conflict, only he can resolve.

Treasures of My Mind
This book gives the reader an opportunity to pause, reflect and capture the high/low or in between moments of his or her life, whether it's about love, family, friends, marriage, social relationships, careers, to name a few aspects of life. I've tried primarily to rely on my own understanding of life, but I don't stop there. I've benefitted from sharing in the joys, sadness and anxieties of many ordinary human beings whom I've met in my capacity as parent, teacher, professor, Sunday school teacher and community worker. Many years of active engagement in these capacities have provided me with many insights about life, and as an educator, I've taken time out to reflect on the implications obtained from other people's life experiences, as well as mine. I'm a better person, because of invited engagement in discussions pertaining to the life experiences of others.
South Toward Home
In considering the pleasures and absurdities of her native culture, Julia Reed quotes another Southern writer, Willie Morris, who said, "It's the juxtapositions that get you down here." These juxtapositions are, for Julia, the soul of the South, and in her warmhearted and funny new book, South Toward Home, she chronicles her adventures through the highs and the lows of Southern life--taking us everywhere from dive bars and the Delta Hot Tamale Festival to an impromptu shindig on a Mississippi River sandbar and a coveted seat on a Mardi Gras float. She writes about the region's music and food, its pesky critters and prodigious drinking habits, its inhabitants' penchant for making their own fun--and, crucially, their gift for laughing at themselves. With her distinctive voice and knowing eye, Julia also provides her take on the South's more embarrassing characteristics from the politics of lust and the persistence of dry counties to the "seemingly bottomless propensity for committing a whole lot of craziness in the name of the Lord." No matter what, she writes, "My fellow Southerners have brought me the greatest joy--on the page, over the airwaves, around the dinner table, at the bar or, hell, in the checkout line." South Toward Home, with a foreword by Jon Meacham, is Julia Reed's valentine to the place she knows and loves best.

Out the Window
The Citrus County Chronicle was a small county-seat weekly when Gerry Mulligan joined it in the late 1970's. Over the next 43 years, he led the charge to turn the newspaper into a seven-day daily in one of the state's fastest growing markets. Along the way he was bitten by snakes, screamed at by sheriffs, maligned by politicians and ultimately had 'poop in his shoe' from his own dog. Over four decades, he never once missed writing his weekly column. For more than 2,200 consecutive weeks he told the stories of his community. Some were funny, some were sad and a few put Mulligan in the hospital. In Out the Window, you can enjoy some of the best.

Some people turn to religion or meditation for these connections; I turned to my one true friend, cannabis. The Lighter Side of Life
[faint] Praise for THE LIGHTER SIDE OF LIFE "These stories are absolutely hysterical, and the writing is top-notch. I can't tell you how much I enjoy reading them. Really, I can't. But we'll rally the fan base and alert the media!" -ANNE BRIDGES, Eigel's Fan Club President (and sole fan) "JEFF FOXWORTHY would have liked this book more than the first book had he read either of them." -Anonymous "Eigel is a prolific writer. But I was shocked he knocked my book, "How I Saved the World" off the New York Times #1 spot with this piece of ... toileture." -What JESSE WATTERS likely would have said had he read this book and it actually went to #1. "This is by far one of the best comedic books my son has ever written. But I still don't understand why so many of these stories have to have alcohol and bad words in them" -SUZANNE, Eigel's mom "I can't believe he wrote a second book! And now I'm one of the stupid chapters. He needs to get a real job... Anyone?" -MAUREEN, Eigel's wife About the Author Eigel grew up loving the likes of Lewis Grizzard and Paul Harvey and has a passion for the written word. Starting in 1996, he began writing an annual letter at Christmas to be the antithesis of the typical letters. A humorous picture, self-deprecating humor and sarcasm would be the impetus of his Christmas Epistle. Eventually the anecdotes were expounded into blog stories. After much prodding and pushing, the author refined, wrote and published those stories and many more in these first two books: Toileture Series-Book One and Toileture Series-Number Two. Look for the third in the series in late 2023. Anyone from Baby Boomer's to Millennial's, who appreciates sarcasm, will laugh out loud at the stories and often relatable life experiences.
