People with problem movement issues repeatedly ask, "What can I do to have better balance, stop falling and walk better?"To this question, they are often given a good deal of advice, but frequently little of it is useful to them. This is because they do not understand how to apply and use much of what they're being told. Naturally, our movements simply work. Each day with minimal effort and without thought, we use them, but most everyone has little or no understanding of how their body makes them happen. That's okay: Because not knowing doesn't matter when our easy movements continue to naturally work as we expect them to. However, when a person's natural movement ability begins to fade away, it matters a great deal that they do not understand how their body creates natural movement.Our collective "not knowing how our movements work" creates a dilemma for those with problem movements, and for those attempting to help them. The big issue is this: To realize how to correct the unnatural (problem) movements many people develop, we first need to have a practical understanding of how our body works to create natural movements. Why? To fix something that is not working as designed, you first need to know how it works when it is functioning properly, so you know what to fix. Thus, not knowing how our natural movements work is the reason many people with problems and unnatural movements do not receive the help they require.Fortunately, though, while working to correct his increasingly problematic movements, Dr. Clouse gained an understanding of the physical cause that made his movements worse. Ultimately, with improving clarity and better application of basic principles, his problem movements returned to more natural movements. This was strikingly significant and contradicted the accepted understanding that problem movements due to numerous causes and neurodegenerative disorders could not be changed.Applying his expertise, for a decade, he traveled the World helping individuals suffering with problematic movements and movement impairments. The repetitive positive results proved the effectiveness of his methods. Of note, most of the people he worked with had a neurodegenerative disorder, while others had different causes for their problem movements. These significant findings revealed that this information needs to be shared with everyone. This led him to author this book on the natural mechanics of our body regarding posture and movement. Throughout its detailed chapters, he explains the practical mechanics for both natural and unnatural occurring movements, using many of the individuals he worked with as examples.

Medicinal plants form the backbone of several indigenous traditional systems of medicines like ayurveda, unani, naturopathy, homeopathy, siddha and tibetian systems and remain acts as an important source of everyday health and livelihood for millions of people (Davidson-Hunt., 2000). The interrelationship between plants and humans is as old as human civilization (Newman et al., 2000). Every plant on the earth possesses some medicinal properties. The tribal or rural people, by knowingly or unknowingly, started using those plants to fulfil their primary health care needs initially and later these plants became their strongest weapons against the numerous diseases. The traditional healers go on passing their knowledge from one generation to another generation, since ancient times to till today (Gurib-Fakim., 2006). The traditional knowledge or history of medicinal plants is significant for both scientific communities and pharmaceutical industries to isolate potential compounds for various therapeutic utility. The use of plants products as medicine could be traced as far back as the beginning of human civilization. The rich diversity of Indian subcontinent contains about 17000 species of higher plants growing in different ecosystem, of which near about 8000 species possess medicinal properties used by rural people, particularly tribal people. Medicinal plants generally used as raw materials for the extraction of active components, which are used in the synthesis of several drugs. All over the world, there are numerous medicinal plants with multiple uses are the main source of pharmacologically and economically important products (Ajibesin et al., 2008). Many countries like China, India, Japan, Pakistan, Thailand, and South Africa have been using medicinal plants for therapeutic utility (Mukhtar et al., 2008). When compared to other systems of medicines, the Indian Ayurvedic and Chinese traditional medicinal systems are identified as the oldest and the well-developed systems of medicines (Gurib-Fakim., 2006). The drugs are derived either from the whole plant or from different plant parts like leaves, stem, bark, root, flower, seed, etc. Some drugs are also prepared from excretory plant products such as gum, resins and latex. According to WHO, about more than 80% of the world's population directly or indirectly rely on plants-based products to meet their health care needs. Recently traditional medicine is gaining more importance in both scientific community and in the general population, is because of the least side effects, chiefly availability and low price of drug preparation; hence the drugs can reach every poorer segments of society in almost every country. At present, the traditional medicines are ruling over the synthetic drugs.

Osteopathy without borders explores the science application of osteopathic medicine. The reason for the title is that osteopathically I explore the interrelationships of the anatomy and physiology. It is a book for those intending to use the involuntary mechanism to treat their patients, it is aimed at students and practitioners alike and is basically a compilation of my lectures that I have given over the years. I look at how to palpate and how the membrane surrounds the brain and the spinal cord. I explain in depth the anatomy and applied anatomy of the human face, how movement is transferred from the sphenoid to the maxilla. Before you can treat the face and oropharynx it is essential that the practitioner has a firm understanding of the mechanics and how all the structures interrelate. As I began training actors and working directly with students' bodies, what I repeatedly encountered withmy students was somatic memory and unprocessed trauma. As students worked in a safe environment with my support, and often the support of a group of other students, they became more aware of tension in their bodies.They were then able to release that tension, allowing them to let go and experiences that had been directing their day-to-day experience. At a certain point, coaching actors for theatrical purposes began to feel like an interruption to the more essential healing process that I was interested in, and that is when I became a psychoanalyst.Somatic focus has been the fundamental aspect of my own therapeutic journey, and I have worked with hundreds of individuals who have said that talk therapy wasn't enough; it was the incorporation of a somatic practice that finally changed their relationships with themselves.This book is intended to help you work through any life transitions you might be experiencing.
