Functional Illiteracy in Secondary Education
This research deals with Functional Illiteracy in the 3rd grade of Secondary School and the Brazilian Public Policies aimed at this aspect. The aim was to undertake an analysis of the problem based on a critical reflection on public policies to tackle this reality, present in the Brazilian educational context, which today has functional illiterates at all levels of schooling. In this sense, this research conceptualizes Public Policies and Functional Illiteracy; it makes an analysis of Functional Illiteracy in High School, especially in the 3rd grade and, finally, it investigates Functional Illiteracy in a Public School in the municipality of Santana - Ap. For this, a qualitative-quantitative research was used, with the application of questionnaires to the students of the 3rd grade of High School and as a technique of analysis, Content Analysis was used. The results showed the number of students who can be considered Functionally Illiterate in the reality investigated and the lack of specific public policies to tackle this problem in this last stage of Brazilian basic education.

E-mail and letter to a radio program
With the advent of radio, a form of communication was established beyond the airwaves. What can be called the listener's letter emerged, assuming the role of a link between listener and broadcaster. However, since the establishment of this mode of interaction, there has been no study of this textual genre. This is what this work demonstrates, in an unprecedented and pioneering study of the textual genre of the listener's letter. In this way, the work deals with the socio-communicative functioning of the letter, e-mail and blog sent to a radio program, from the point of view of discursive studies of communicative genres from a socio-interactionist perspective. The aim is to analyze these genres comparatively, characterizing them in their context, describing the linguistic resources in each one, such as lexical selection, syntactic organization and forms of address, as well as observing discursive strategies and rhetorical organization. This book is aimed at teachers of Portuguese language at primary, secondary and university levels.
New perspectives on the actions of a pedagogical coordinator
This work was developed after being linked to the Postgraduate Programme in Mathematics Education, at master's level, at the Federal University of Mato Grosso do Sul and aims to analyse the contributions of the Observatory of Education group in the actions of a pedagogical coordinator. The following stages were developed: Understanding the actions of a pedagogical coordinator, based on being part of a project focused on collaborative work and understanding the new perspectives of this coordinator based on the discussions in the study group. The theoretical references were based on the following authors: Franco (2008), Fusari (2007), Lib璽neo (2003), among others. The research approach was qualitative and the methodological procedures adopted were: autobiographies, narrative interviews and reflective sessions. With this work, we hope to expand the production of knowledge in the educational field that can subsidise discussions about the training of teachers who teach mathematics in basic education.

The aspects covered are discussed on the basis of the literature in the field, in order to provide an in-depth study of the subject. Profile of distance learning students in the Chemistry course at the Graja繳 hub
This paper is part of a study on the profile of distance learning chemistry students at the UAB-Graja繳 hub. As the first stage of the investigation, an analysis was carried out of the PPCs of the Chemistry degrees in the Distance Education modality - EaD managed by the SisUAB platform, based on which it is possible to understand how the student is expected to complete the course. It is understood that this profile is a way of looking at the course and possibly raising the difficulties faced by the students. This is a quantitative and qualitative study, using a questionnaire applied to 7 students on the distance education Chemistry course at the UAB-Grajau pole - at the Federal University of Maranh瓊o. After collecting the data, it can be seen that the majority of the students are between 30 and 40 years old, 86% live in the urban area, and their maturity shows that the greatest difficulty in the distance learning course is not having internet at home, but they still point to face-to-face meetings as an essential factor, showing that they do not understand the essence of distance education, which is autonomy in learning.

Teachers' Strategies for Teaching Mathematics in Heterogeneous Classes
The book is the result of a study that investigated teaching strategies to promote mathematics learning in heterogeneous classes in the final years of elementary school. It was based on questionnaires and interviews with math teachers who work with adolescents in the Belo Horizonte public school system. By recognizing, through their reports, practices considered to be successful, these were investigated. In general, the teaching strategies analyzed in this research had some of the following characteristics: autonomy of work; intentionality of actions; seeking teacher-student interaction (affectivity); monitoring students for longer periods; concern for students' human and citizen training; positive expectations regarding students' learning potential; understanding of education as a right that must be guaranteed by the teacher, and valuing in-service teacher training.
