The high dropout rate in distance learning higher education courses is confirmed and when compared to face-to-face teaching, the impact of resistance to this teaching model can be seen: situational factors - the lack of time the dropouts had to study and the difficulty they felt in understanding and assimilating some of the course subjects; instructional factors - the out-of-class workload required by the course, the time the dropout respondents allocated each week to studying the subjects and the degree of intensity with which they asked questions of the class tutor during lessons; technology-related factors - difficulties in dealing with the virtual environment in the three classes investigated. In this regard, the dropouts found it difficult to use the virtual environment and consequently did little research on the internet. In view of the results found, we recommend better monitoring of the inter- and extra-class academic life of future entrants to this and other distance learning institutions.

The purpose of the research study is to investigate the social ideals that aspiring teachers have. Using a questionnaire, the study polled 50 teacher education students from Islamabad Model College for boy's street no, 17, I-10/1. The questionnaire asked about social values held by the participants, including their opinions about multiculturalism, social justice, and educational equity. The study's findings show that the majority of participants had strong social ideals and strongly agreed on matters of social justice and equity. The findings also raise the possibility that some participants had preconceived notions about various races and ethnicities. The study comes to the conclusion that in order to prepare future educators to advance social justice and equity in the classroom, teacher education programs should be created with positive social values in mind.

In this book, we present the results of the implementation of a teaching project with a technical class in the area of Computer Science at the Farroupilha Federal Institute, located in the city of S瓊o Borja/RS. This work is based on Vygotsky's social-interactionist theory, as well as Delizoicov and Angotti's theory of pedagogical moments, which in turn is based on Paulo Freire's educational perspective. During the classes in which the project was implemented, we always tried to motivate debate, since the theoretical references consider this to be a fundamental point for learning. As the project's main activity, the students worked on residential electrical installations. Over the course of the meetings, each group built an electrical plan for a home, covering all the concepts studied during the project. The results obtained from the main activity carried out, as well as from the questionnaires applied before and after the project was implemented, showed that the students had appropriated an adequate amount of knowledge regarding the structuring theme covered. However, the COVID-19 pandemic that began in 2019 has further emphasized the importance of these skills, particularly in the context of teaching and learning English as a Second Language (ESL). In addition to the rapid advancements in information, communication, and technology (ICT), the 4Cs skills have become pivotal in shaping the modern educational landscape.This thesis research study aims to explore the experiences of university-level ESL teachers who have incorporated ICT-based 4Cs skills into their English language instruction. Through a phenomenological approach, five ESL teachers from a public sector university's education department were interviewed to gather data. These semi-structured interviews were transcribed verbatim and analysed thematically, providing rich phenomenological descriptions of the teachers' experiences and their use of ICT-based 4Cs skills in teaching.The findings of this study offer valuable insights into the experiences of ESL teachers.

Vocational education and its quality in the public education system
The aim of this work is to assess the quality of secondary vocational education in the state public school system in the municipality of Paulo Afonso - BA, with the students of CETEPI's integrated training program as the subjects of this research. The research's main bibliographical references are authors such as Gramsci (1982), Manacorda (2007), Saviani (2007, 2011), Lib璽neo (1984, 2002) and Frigotto (2006, 2008). And relevant data from institutions such as IDB (2011), CNI (2014), DIEESE (2016), MEC (2016), SENAI (2016), OECD (2016), SGE (2017), which corroborate through documentary bases for this study. The investigation implies a low quality of teaching proposed by the educational center, which consequently generates a process of exclusion of these students in society. The results were extracted from opinion questionnaires on the level of satisfaction and evaluation of students regarding the school infrastructure, the methodology used by the teachers of the specific subjects, and their expectations regarding employability.

The general aim of this study was to find out how higher education provides nursing students with guidance on occupational health care. Specifically, it aimed to find out about the teaching-learning process involving workers' health in undergraduate nursing courses in the west of Santa Catarina and to identify strategies that can promote the training process for this theme and foster advances in the National Workers' Health Policy.

The Biographical Body
This research was developed and presented to the Postgraduate Program in Education - Master's Degree, at the Education Center of the Federal University of Santa Maria. Its main objective is to understand and analyze the meanings of GEPEIS members based on the biographical body, understood as "past, present and future history, through sensations, images, animated visions - sort of waking dreams - reminiscences, but also ideas and choices [...]" where I use Josso (2012, p.27 ) and the confluence of body/mind, trying to think of possibilities for a formative process in education through the bias of the body as an expression of imaginary meanings, a place of memories and sensitivities. For this research, I used body experiences and conversation circles, which were experienced after the experiences. The material produced was analyzed and organized, showing that mobilization and formative experiences through the sensorial route bring about, through biographical bodies, a broadening of body awareness, as well as the possibility of experimenting with other repertoires in training.
Curricular Sustainability in Higher Education in Puerto Rico
The inclusion of curricular sustainability in education is fair and necessary and is aimed at universities, educational organizations and the teaching profession. This study focuses specifically on the field of nursing science. The purpose of this research is to establish the inclusion of curricular sustainability in higher education in Puerto Rico and to measure knowledge about curricular sustainability in nursing teachers. The theoretical framework is based on the Theory of Sustainable Development where three research questions are posed and the impact of the COVID-19 Pandemic.
Technical Vocational Education in the public school system
The aim of this study is to evaluate the quality of secondary vocational education in the state public school system in the municipality of Paulo Afonso - BA, with the students of CETEPI's integrated training program as the subjects of this research. The research's main bibliographical references are authors such as Gramsci (1982), Manacorda (2007), Saviani (2007, 2011), Lib璽neo (1984, 2002) and Frigotto (2006, 2008). And relevant data from institutions such as IDB (2011), CNI (2014), DIEESE (2016), MEC (2016), SENAI (2016), OECD (2016), SGE (2017), which corroborate through documentary bases for this study. The investigation implies a low quality of teaching proposed by the educational center, which consequently generates a process of exclusion of these students in society. The results were extracted from opinion questionnaires on the level of satisfaction and evaluation of students regarding the school infrastructure, the methodology used by the teachers of the specific subjects, and their expectations regarding employability.

Strengthening employability in higher education
Currently, the gap between the lack of technical, digital and soft skills not offered by higher education and those required by the labor market has become a critical issue that affects employability and competitiveness in the labor market, which does not allow them to succeed in increasingly demanding work environments, because the lack of soft skills, such as time management, empathy and leadership skills, represents a significant gap that hinders job placement and professional development, for the knowledge required in today's world of work. In this context, higher education must create new careers, after analyzing the employability needs of the public, productive and tertiary sectors; complemented with skills and competencies, such as: communication, resilience, public ethics, teamwork.
Teacher Training and Identity Construction
This book is the result of an investigation carried out with two Uruguayan students on a degree course in Portuguese/Spanish Languages. Based on the assumption that the construction of identity is a process that involves language, this research was carried out in order to find out how the process of constructing the teaching identity of these students takes place. According to De Nardi (2005, p.6), when "we talk about identity and subject, we are therefore talking about language and subjects, since we are entering the space of the symbolic, of a symbolic mediation that allows the production-understanding of a language". Language is therefore conceived as a symbolic dimension that allows the subject to identify itself. In other words, in this work it will be possible to visualize how each of the informants sees and feels in both languages and what these languages mean to each of them, thus elucidating the processes these students go through to assume and construct their teaching identity.
Teaching Development in Music
This work is the result of a master's thesis developed in the Postgraduate Programme in Education at the Federal University of Santa Maria-UFSM. The aim of the research was to investigate the repercussions of the 'LEM Programme: Playing and Singing' for initial training and teacher development, from the perspective of music graduates/performers. To this end, the aim was to find out the objectives of the undergraduates when they took part in the LEM Programme workshops, to analyse the relationships they establish between the music workshops, their initial training and their teaching development, to understand the assumptions that underpin the development of teaching in the workshops and also to situate the 'LEM Programme: Playing and Singing' in the context of academic-professional training. The article discusses teacher training and professional development, their significance for undergraduates, the relationship between experiences in music workshops and professional training, and the assumptions that underpin teaching in music workshops. The LEM Programme is highlighted as a place for academic and professional training and performance.
Political and Pedagogical Conceptions of the Rural School
This paper presents the results of the in(ter)vention-action research carried out with the school community of the Atanagildo Domingues State School in the municipality of Arroio Grande-RS. The aim was to discuss the education being offered to the sons and daughters of workers belonging to the community in which the school is located. This school is geographically located in the countryside, which is why we used the conceptions of rural education as a reference when discussing the concept of education that underpins the school's educational project. This research was carried out based on the principles and assumptions of action research, i.e. in(ter)vention-action research that relied on the protagonism of the subjects that make up the community. All those involved were present to discuss, interact, problematise and participate in the process of understanding and appropriating the school's educational project. Discussion circles were held based on Freirean inspiration and they realised that in order to build their ideals, the school needs to educate from a libertarian perspective.

In the present book the changes that originated since the end of the XVlll century in the Cuban town of Sancti Spiritu are appreciated, which allows to recognize in the presbyter Silvestre Alonso de Mu簽oz the inspirer of the educational ideas in this Villa and from him other espirituanos dedicated themselves to so important task.The purpose of making an "Approach to the relevant moments and outstanding figures of education in the 19th century", responds to the need to know the trajectory of education in the Villa during that historical period; to highlight the figures that stood out in the educational field, for the methods used in their classes, for their dedication to work, patriotism and how they influenced the formation of their students. It also includes the historical situation in the framework in which these figures developed, which are the key points in the formation and development of the pedagogical actions that helped the development of an increasingly progressive and revolutionary thinking in the territory.
