It observed highest inhibitory action against many Bacteria. The extracts found effective against certain Gram positive and Gram negative bacteria. The activity while bacterial strains showed good activity against test sample in both concentrations. The concentration depended manner play on very important role in the antimicrobial activity. In the present work proven that the Papaver somniferum shows maximum inhibitor action against Proteus and Pyogens when compared with other test organisms. So the project work concluded that the essential from Papaver somniferum has effectively outstanding antimicrobial activity.

Incidence of hypochlorhydria and nitrites in the gastric mucosa.

Modern medicine, both worldwide and nationally, has experienced in recent years important advances in the diagnosis of specific pathologies. One of the areas that has benefited most from these technological advances is gastroenterology and specifically upper and lower gastrointestinal endoscopy. The objective of this work was to establish the incidence of hypochlorhydria or achlorhydria and nitrites in the gastric mucosa in patients attended in the Gastroenterology Area of the Solca Riobamba Hospital as a trigger for Gastric Atrophy and Metaplasia, using as a method the upper digestive endoscopy, the analysis of gastric juice and later the biopsy obtained in this procedure. The sample consisted of 105 patients who underwent endoscopic examinations, where the importance of this examination and the usefulness of taking a biopsy in this type of lesions was determined. The relationship between the macroscopic findings and the histopathological result was also determined, as well as the most frequent type of inflammatory infiltrate diagnosed, as well as the pathologies found, all of the above characterized according to sex and age.

Vegetation survey of Kibira National Park

The overall aim of this study is to create a database for monitoring habitat, population and species dynamics in KNP management. Analyses focused on floristic composition, biological forms, phytogeographical elements, physiognomy, stand density, basal area, litter and habitat dynamics. The floristic inventory yielded 166 species in 132 genera and 73 families. Dendrogram analysis revealed a clear dissimilarity between sites. The specific quotient values found (1.06 - 1.14) testify to the maturity of the flora in the study area. Analysis of biological forms reveals the dominance of phanerophytes at all sites (69% of the raw spectrum and 93.3% of the weighted spectrum). In terms of phytogeographical distribution, montane species occupy first place with 42.7% of the gross spectrum, showing that the study area belongs to the afromontane domain. Structural analysis shows the existence of 5 strata. In terms of habitat dynamics, the sites surveyed are at different stages of evolution.

Neurotransmitter Metabolic Pathways in Smooth Muscle

This study conducted at the University Clinical Center Kosovo, University of Prishtina, Faculty of Medicine, Prishtina, Kosovo, examined the effects of neurotransmitters on the ileum of chickens. The results showed that neurotransmitters such as acetylcholine, serotonin, dopamine, and histamine have significant constrictive effects on the longitudinal smooth muscles. The study found a correlation between the concentration of neurotransmitters and the constrictive effect on the smooth muscle. As the concentration of the neurotransmitters increased, the constrictive force in the smooth muscle decreased. Also, verapamil as a Ca2+ channel blocker, was found to reduce the effects of neurotransmitters on the ileum's longitudinal smooth muscles. This research is a new windows that clarify the neurotransmitter metabolic pathways in smooth muscle, physiology and toxicity.

Lactic acid bacteria and intestinal function

Fermented milks are sources of bioactive peptides that can modulate intestinal functions. Milk hydrolysates fermented with Lactobacillus paracasei, Enterococcus faecalis, Enterococcus faecium, Bifidobacterium longum, Lactobacillus plantarum and Streptococcus thermophillus were analyzed. Their action on the intestine of mice sensitized to β-Lg and milk was followed by histology of the jejunum. The results showed that the strains had proteolytic performance and antioxidant capacity. The preventive effect showed a slight production of anti-Blg IgG and IgE in animals fed the hydrolysates. The ex-vivo study showed that the response to allergen stimulation was lower. Intestinal histological studies revealed, in some groups, minor damage with weaker inflammatory signs and more or less enlarged villi. We conclude that hydrolysates have a preventive and therapeutic effect, and appear to have a protective effect on intestinal epithelium. The L.paracasei strain is an interesting candidate, with marked therapeutic and preventive effects.
