Loads on the Bridge Structure
Conservation of Energy and Momentum: For the structural engineer, it is important to keep in mind the principles of conservation of energy and momentum. This often helps predict the behavior of a building under wind and earthquake loads. Pendulum systems: in this context, evaluating the characteristics of a structural pendulum is a very important structural concept. This helps in devising stabilizing systems that bring the structure back into equilibrium. while giving it sufficient elasticity to accept and bear external loads. For example, skyscrapers or bridges can start swaying back and forth after being hit by a strong wind. Free Vibration: Free vibration occurs when a building is out of its stable equilibrium. This may be due to an earthquake or similar natural event. As a result, the building vibrates or swings without any additional external interference. Expressed in cycles of vibration, with the number of cycles representing the natural frequency of the building, free vibration is important. It is possible to reduce and completely stop free vibration by using damping elements.

Sustainability through biogas
Biogas has become a method of sustainability, since fossil fuels, as well as the different forms of energy that share space with humanity, are not always economically viable or have the availability of raw materials to generate electricity. Choosing an energy source that meets nature's need for conservation and recycling shows wisdom and intelligence, given that human beings act in a destructive and environmentally suicidal way. Various possibilities are being tested, and this is just one contribution to studies and research into the themes of "sustainability" and "energy". It's worth every gamble and investment when it comes to survival.
P-Bits and Q-Bits: Probabilistic and Quantum Computing
This book is the third volume in the New Era Electronics lecture notes series, a compilation of volumes defining the important concepts tied to the electronics transition happening in the 21st century. The material is adapted from a unique course that connects three diverse fields -- statistical mechanics, neural networks and quantum computing -- using the unifying concept of a state-space with 2N dimensions defined by N binary bits. First, the seminal concepts of statistical mechanics, developed to describe natural interacting systems, are described. Then, these concepts are connected to engineered interacting systems like Boltzmann Machines (BM), which are cleverly designed to solve problems in machine learning. Finally, we connect to engineered quantum systems, stressing the key role of quantum interference in distinguishing them from classical systems like BM.Assuming only a basic background in differential equations and linear algebra, this book is accessible to broader audiences across its described topics, including students in physics, engineering and computing, as well as professionals working actively in the technical fields looking for a primer to unconventional computing.

Technological modernisation of low-income housing
The Brazilian reality is represented by a housing deficit and an increase in the population of cities. For this reason, a number of low-cost housing projects have emerged over the last few years, but those responsible for their design and construction have favoured profit over user comfort and safety. In order to establish criteria for improving the quality of homes, the NBR 15575 technical standard for housing performance was drawn up, allowing new technologies to be applied to construction with the aim of improving the quality of life of residents. This project interprets this new standard and presents possible solutions for meeting its requirements.
Identifying sustainability criteria in buildings
Increasingly gaining focus and importance in the field of engineering, sustainable buildings are already present in the country's major urban centres. In view of this, various green certifications and seals characterise and certify such buildings, giving them an even greater degree of competitiveness, engineering and even marketing. The main objective of this work was to create sustainable criteria for evaluating any type of building, based on the guidelines indicated by environmental and regulatory bodies. In order to fulfil this objective, three existing green certifications used in Brazil were used as a technical basis: LEED, AQUA and Caixa Econ繫mica Federal's Blue House Seal, as well as current standards and legislation on the subject. Based on this information, a list of different categories was created to evaluate the sustainability criteria.

Semiotic analysis of building structures of the Wimpfener K繹nigspfalz
Many people in the High Middle Ages tended towards a symbolic-allegorical interpretation of their sensually perceptible environment, as can be explained in this book from various sources and perspectives. This world view was strongly related to Christianity, which characterized the Middle Ages: behind the surface of the visible world, the work of God was assumed, which could not be directly revealed to people. However, the possibilities of recognizing truths beyond the empirical world were already analysed by theologians and philosophers of scholasticism in late antiquity, but especially in the High Middle Ages, whereby reference was made not only to biblical texts but also to the writings of ancient philosophers, especially Plato and Aristotle. From the combination of these sources, the conclusion was drawn, among other things, that God offers people signs to gain supra-empirical knowledge. This happens in symbols or allegories, i.e. in words or images as well as in events that need to be interpreted.
Development of Training Methodology - Occupational Safety
The construction industry is characterised by its high turnover rate. This may be due to the adverse working conditions and the lack of professional qualifications. In addition, employees have no stability in the company, where they are employed during the construction period and then dismissed. The sector has poorly qualified labourers compared to other sectors, which means that low productivity results in products with lower quality than desired. The aim of this work is to develop an effective training methodology to prevent/decrease accidents at work in the construction industry in the greater S瓊o Benedito area, in the municipality of Santa Luzia/MG. In order to obtain the data, questionnaires were drawn up and submitted to site managers and workers, in which they answered questions relating to their social profiles, site organisation, training and the availability of individual and collective protection equipment.
Management of Solid Construction and Demolition Waste
The construction sector, although fundamental to the national economy, is recognized as a major generator of environmental impacts due to the unrestrained use of natural resources and the significant production of waste. Through a case study carried out at the Construction Solid Waste Recycling Plant - RSCD in the Municipality of Betim, located in the metropolitan region of Belo Horizonte, Minas Gerais. The search was organized in the form of articles, addressing different aspects related to RSCD. The chapters include a systematic review of alternatives to reduce the environmental impacts of RSCD, an analysis of construction waste management in Betim, an assessment of the current scenario of the recycling plant from a financial, environmental and social perspective, the theoretical generation potential of recyclables in the selective collection of RSCD and finally a technical manual for the management of public RSCD recycling plants.
Influence of environmental conditions on associated aviation accidents
This book, entitled Influence of environmental conditions on the occurrence of aviation accidents associated with birds, seeks to analyze the occurrence of accidents related to collisions between aircraft and birds, caused by various socio-environmental factors. In addition to hazardous activities, other factors cause an ecological imbalance that is a determining factor in the increase of avian risk in the airport area: the existence of the Hulene Municipal dump and solid waste concentration points, open markets and stalls around the airport, which are places where birds and other animals look for food. The reporting of collisions is a way of increasing aviation safety at airports and in the areas around them. It is a fact that every event (accident/incident) during a flight needs to be reported as a way of creating an internal safety culture, helping to prevent accidents and improve internal processes. Maputo International Airport presents a very high level of risk involving the problem species Heron, Stork, its presence is related to the hotspots existing in the Airport Security Area and in its enclosure.
