The Digestive System in the Era of COVID-19
In the last few years, the scientific world has been forced to find ways to manage the SARS-CoV-2 pandemic and its many effects. Even though COVID-19 was first considered a respiratory disease, it is now identified as a systematic disease. It is common for SARS-CoV-2 to also infect the digestive system. This type of infection in patients with COVID-19 has a wide symptom range. The aim of this reprint is to evaluate and discuss the optimal management of emergency surgeries in patients with SARS-CoV-2 infection and co-infections. Furthermore, this reprint refers to rare conditions of the digestive system and emphasizes the importance of considering these entities in the differential diagnosis. Awareness of diagnostic imaging hallmarks is crucial to optimize the management of these patients. In this reprint, we discuss the risk of new-onset liver injuries due to COVID-19 in preexisting hepatic conditions, their prognosis, severity and outcome, as well as the immunosuppressant treatments administered for COVID-19 and the possibility of reactivation of the hepatic virus. Moreover, we refer to the drugs used during therapy of hospitalized COVID-19 patients, which have adverse side-effects of drug-induced liver injury-DILI. Finally, this reprint punctuates the importance of vaccination against SARS-CoV-2 in chronic digestive diseases.
Shifting the Therapeutic Paradigm for Children with Neuromotor Disabilities to Maximizing Development
The United Nations Convention on the Rights to Children states that "Every child with a disability should enjoy the best possible life in society. Governments should remove all obstacles for children with disabilities to become independent and to participate actively in the community." This Special Issue sought to address this call by challenging historical legacy that surround pediatric rehabilitation. It focused on neuromotor disabilities and was a collection of publications from authors who use science to seek understanding about neuromotor disabilities with a hope of improving the lives of all children with such diagnoses that stem from etiologies such as cerebral palsy, stroke, hypoxic injuries, and traumatic brain injuries. This Special Issue included 13 original research articles investigating parental information, strengthening surgical outcomes, the development of unimanual and bimanual abilities, factors influencing NICU services, the achievement of goals, and novel therapeutic frameworks to guide the therapeutic process. It also included two perspective pieces regarding the importance of play in early childhood development and the importance of life-long fitness for individuals with disabilities.
Eating Disorders and Addictive Behaviors
Eating disorders (EDs) are psychological conditions that have a significant impact on physical health (e.g., gastrointestinal, renal, and cardiovascular) and psychological well-being (e.g., relationships with others, personal growth, and autonomy). The most common eating disorders include anorexia nervosa, bulimia nervosa, and binge eating disorder. These three conditions cause clinical impairment in different areas of functioning and share an excessive focus on weight and body image, leading to dangerous eating styles that affect the body's ability to obtain adequate nutrition. Behavioral addictions (BAs) are non-substance-related addictions characterized by an individual's incapacity to resist impulses toward rewarding stimuli despite the adverse consequences. Aside from gambling and gaming disorders (the two most frequent conditions within the spectrum of BAs), other maladaptive and uncontrolled behaviors include compulsive sexual behaviors, compulsive buying, and kleptomania. The etiology of EDs and BAs comprises a complex network of biological, psychological, and contextual social factors. The onset of these conditions is usually during school age and adolescence; the progression of these disorders occurs throughout the lifespan. Diverse phenotypes have been identified according to ED and BA subtypes, and it has been observed that the physio-pathological mechanisms underlying each behavioral profile can play a role in the treatment outcomes.

Behavioral and Mental Health Problems in Children
Today's world is fraught with crisis and uncertainty. This creates a significant obstacle in child rearing and development. Children, inherently a vulnerable demographic, are at the epicenter of these crises. Approaches to address these problems need to be based on high-quality scientific research, to understand the root causes and determine effective approaches to reduce behavioral and mental health problems in children (BMPC). This is a special research reprint focusing on BMPC. It collected 14 high-quality papers from authors distributed across many countries, including the United States, France, China, Japan, Israel, and Thailand. This reprint included two main sections. The first section aimed to provide a comprehensive understanding of the social and mental mechanisms leading to BMPC. The second section aimed to develop behavioral and mental health promotion strategies and policies for children, as well as to provide some considerations in the design and implementation of effective intervention programs. We believe that this reprint is of great significance for the development and progress of research and practice in the area of children's behavior and mental health. This reprint is suitable as a reference book for researchers, and also has significance for guiding practical workers in this field. In the end, we noted that, in some papers, it was necessary to further improve them, to obtain in-depth and comprehensive overviews and to expand on the design and implementation of effective intervention programs.

Socio-Economic Burden of Disease
In 2020, the world was shaken by a very unexpected development, an unseen virus which could kill millions and spread without control. To reduce the impact of the pandemic and before the vaccine was created, lockdown and other safety measures were implemented.In this context, the socio-economic burden of the disease was, in our opinion, a major issue because we always considered that COVID-19 would have a hard impact on human beings and that that impact would be the most prominent effect of the pandemic. In consequence, when designing this Special Issue, we hoped to receive papers with "tales from the field" that would describe the mentioned socio-economic burden. Therefore, it was deeply rewarding to receive so many contributions of very good quality that ended up composing the Special Issue that is reprinted here.We sincerely thank all the authors and reviewers for the work they produced and we congratulate them for their success. We believe that this reprint of the Special Issue contributes to the understanding of the major consequences of COVID-19 in society. Crucially, the reprint includes papers on global perspectives but also national cases and also sector-specific cases. Finally, we hope the legacy of this volume will be long-lasting and that the papers it contains will be quoted and cited for many years to come.

History of Stroke
Stroke is one of the leading causes of disability and death worldwide. It has become the first disease leading to neurologic referrals to hospital and, while recognized in medicine since antiquity, stroke did not acquire a proper place within neurology until the second part of the 20th century. The main reason for this is that, because it deals with blood vessels and circulation, neurologists themselves did not want to include stroke as a primary disorder of the nervous system. However, this is one of the many reasons the historical development of stroke and cerebrovascular disease is of unique interest; it touches not only on neurology but also on internal medicine, angiology, cardiology, rehabilitation, and psychiatry within the frame of secondary behavioral and personality changes after stroke. For the same reasons, the study of the developments in the field of stroke over time is an excellent mirror of historical developments in medicine in general, encompassing many different domains. Intimate Partner Violence
Violence between couples is one of the most common forms of abuse. The consequences that this phenomenon has on the victims, but also on the aggressors, are serious enough to justify the multiple investigations focused on the topic. In the literature, a strong heterogeneity of variables has been linked to this phenomenon (previous history of abuse, sexism, normalization of violence, culture, etc.) in different ways. In the same way, considering violence within the LGTBI+ community, the reviewed literature concludes that intimate partner violence does not entail forms of abuse specifically linked to these couples, since aggressions are manifested in hetero- and homosexual couples regardless of their sexual orientation. This heterogeneity of variables linked with the phenomenon can be assumed to have a positive impact on the prevention of abuse; however, to date, the actions taken have not been sufficient. There is thus a need to adopt a broader approach that includes not only all the social agents involved but also how the world and society are constantly evolving, changing how violence and abuse are perpetrated and interpreted.In view of the above, this reprint presents ten valuable investigations carried out by researchers of international prestige focused on different contexts, social agents, and the way victims are affected by the variables linked to the phenomenon, indicating how they interact and modify the way teens see romantic relationships and violence.
