Precarity Activism
Activist networks throughout Europe developed the concept of precarity at the turn of the 21st century. Retail chain employees, freelancers, cultural workers, caregivers and university adjuncts alike, including those labeled natives or migrants, identified and organized themselves under the umbrella notion of precarity. This ethnography tells the story of precarity activism as it originated and evolved in Southern Europe, tracing its theoretical and linguistic legacy. Highlighting the currency of precarity-inspired proposals for social change, this empirically detailed appraisal recapitulates activist debates over the prospects of flexible labor markets entangled with questions of gender and citizenship. The book's analysis offers insight into how precarity activism's visionary notions of sustainable futures speak directly to the tensions of the platform economy. This genealogy of a grassroots political concept will be of use for postgraduate students and scholars interested in anthropology, cultural studies, geography, sociology and political theory. It will appeal to interdisciplinary fields engaging processes of collective action, knowledge production and the so-called subaltern populations, such as social movements studies, gender studies, critical race and migration studies, dis/ability studies and labor studies. This book will further attract those concerned with changes in production, reproduction and mobility under platform capitalism as it further consolidates precarity as the new normal. The Open Access version of this book, available at http: //www.taylorfrancis.com, has been made available under a Creative Commons Attribution-Non Commercial-No Derivatives (CC-BY-NC-ND) 4.0 license.

Agency Pods
Agency Pods represent a revolutionary shift in organisational structure. For more than a century, businesses have unknowingly held themselves back by traditionally organising their teams by job function. While it might sound sensible, this organisational structure places strict limits on the ability for organisations to grow, innovate, and acquire talent. Enter the Agency Pod; a new way to organise employees that breaks from the traditional constraints of function-based set ups. With this innovative new industry structure, employees are aligned into small, cross-functional teams, or Pods, that act as internal agencies responsible for specific clients every need. This contrasts the traditional single function model, where departments handle only small parts of client or project deliverables, creating a highly collaborative, nimble, and laser focused environment which allows organisations of all kinds to become much more responsive to client requests and changing market conditions. As this new business organisational structure takes the corporate world by storm, leading System Integrators and Service Providers globally have either already moved to the pod model or are hastily doing so. In Agency Pods: The Definitive Guide, Bhatti and Biddiscombe blow the lid off one of the most closely guarded secrets in business consulting by explaining how to implement it, how to measure it, and what success looks like.

An Investigation of Prioritizing Research Topics in Professional Communication
This research explored which areas and methods of research need to be identified and developed to most effectively communicate business and technical information. The research was sparked by the current literature which indicates that a gap exists between academicians, who do most of the research, and practitioners, who utilize the research results. This effort was intended to address possible causes of this problem by establishing the importance of nine research topic areas, six data collection methods/sources, and three data analysis methods for both academicians and researchers and other demographic characteristics. The research concludes that the participants generally agreed on which factors were most important. Findings indicated that researchers and practitioners tended to agree on data analysis methods and data collection methods/sources but did show some disagreement on research topic areas. The research also uncovered evidence that demographic characteristics such as level of degree, area of degree, job, and English as a first language may influence which factors are considered to be most important to the professional communication process. This work has been selected by scholars as being culturally important, and is part of the knowledge base of civilization as we know it. Working Through Planetary Breakdown
This book offers a genuinely interdisciplinary engagement with the future of paid and unpaid work in the context of the twin challenges of decarbonisation and the growing impacts of an unstable climate. It is innovative in its grounding of such discussions in the everyday realities of workers' experiences with an empirical focus on skill, occupational shifts and technological change at the workplace level. Part I: Skills and Training delves into how workers gain crucial skills across their lifetimes. From survivalist "preppers" to local microgrid operators, the chapters reveal practical and often unrecognised but essential expertise. Case studies include air-conditioning technical educators and construction trades leveraging tacit knowledge of sustainable practices. Part II: Industrial Transformation draws on empirical studies from coal mining, manufacturing, defence and construction to highlight workers' experiences of climate shifts, heat and industrial transition. Theoretical contributions explore novel legal strategies such as fossil fuel "cessation" and examine the role of health and safety frameworks in addressing worker democracy and climate-change mitigation. This collection will resonate with scholars, students, policymakers and trade unionists interested in environmental labour studies, just transitions and the future of work. It offers vital lessons for navigating complex industrial transformations.Key features: Detailed case studies in critical sectors such as energy, construction, defence and manufacturing; A dynamic interdisciplinary fusion of human geography, political economy, sociology, industrial relations and law; Emphasis on worker agency, practical skill and grassroots adaptability amid intensifying climate impacts. Introduction and Chapter 5 of this book is freely available as a downloadable Open Access PDF at http: //www.taylorfrancis.com under a Creative Commons [Attribution-Non Commercial-No Derivatives (CC BY-NC-ND)] 4.0 license.

Improving Communication Between Senior Air Force Leadership and Troops in the Field
The Air Force is a complex organization operating within a complex, unpredictable environment. As such it needs a shared organizational vision to maximize its effectiveness. Members must be aware of the direction senior leaders would have their organization go. They must also be aware of the issues these leaders consider most important. Unfortunately, this is not currently the state in the Air Force. Members are generally unaware of their leaders' vision and are similarly ignorant of key issues. This is not the fault of the members. These deficits stem from shortcomings in the Air Force's communication plan. Communication plays a pivotal role in building shared vision. Good communication processes are necessary to reach all organizational members with important information. This work has been selected by scholars as being culturally important, and is part of the knowledge base of civilization as we know it.
