The 5 String Bass Guitar
Τhe series of books for learning the 5 string Bass Guitar with the mode system concept is based on the processing and the geometrical structure and coexistence of the modes in every key. The system begins with the mother scales, the principal scales that exist in the western musical system. Those are the major scale, the harmonic minor scale, and the melodic minor scale. We do not mention the natural minor scale as a mother scale because its construction is covered during the studies of the major scale in which we find the natural minor as its 6th mode, known as the Aeolian. When we look at each mother scale, we find the modes that are built on each scale degree, and we study them through a specific shape pattern, harmonization, and most importantly specific fingering positions. The most essential point is that with this system we have to maintain a very specific fingering pattern for each mode, so that the movement becomes consistent and automatic through our fingers but also our brain, which leads to flexible and effortless playing.

Over the years I have noticed there are ample resources for young students and plenty of books for advanced players but not much material to bridge the gap between the two. It contains a plethora of exercises I have created and used over many years, in order for you to Supercharge Your Flute Technique.The book is divided into seven chapters focusing on different aspects of playing. The first chapter is for the younger player who may be new to focused technical work while the final chapter provides some ideas for the more advanced player to structure their technical practice. In between you'll discover plenty of exercises on scales, arpeggios, broken chords, chromatics, thirds and even a chapter on practicing di cult passages.At first glance some of the exercises may appear straightforward but don't be deceived by this apparent simplicity as they should only be treated as a template for further study. Learn to play them in all major and minor keys adjusting the range, tempi and articulation for your level of playing. You can make the exercises as easy or as challenging as you like.It is imperative to use a metronome, adjusting the given tempi as required. Articulation patterns are suggestions and a wide variety of patterns should be employed. By mixing the keys, range, tempi and articulation patterns you can alter any of the exercises to make them your own. Use the exercises as a springboard to make your technical practice varied and interesting. It is worth the the effort as the ability to play quickly, evenly and effortlessly enables the player to come out from behind the notes and present their musical message with increased conviction and engagement.There is no need to work through the book in order. The 6 String Bass Guitar
Τhe series of books for learning the 6 string Bass Guitar with the mode system concept is based on the processing and the geometrical structure and coexistence of the modes in every key. The system begins with the mother scales, the principal scales that exist in the western musical system. Those are the major scale, the harmonic minor scale, and the melodic minor scale. We do not mention the natural minor scale as a mother scale because its construction is covered during the studies of the major scale in which we find the natural minor as its 6th mode, known as the Aeolian. When we look at each mother scale, we find the modes that are built on each scale degree, and we study them through a specific shape pattern, harmonization, and most importantly specific fingering positions. The most essential point is that with this system we have to maintain a very specific fingering pattern for each mode, so that the movement becomes consistent and automatic through our fingers but also our brain, which leads to flexible and effortless playing.

B矇la Bart籀k wrote the first four volumes of the Mikrokosmos as a series of beginning piano exercises for his son P矇ter. The great Hungarian composer's complete six-volume collection represents one of the most comprehensive anthologies of contemporary technique ever assembled. This edition, consisting of the first two volumes, presents more than 100 pieces of study material suitable for first- and second-year students. In a 1945 radio interview, Bart籀k explained, "The Mikrokosmos is a cycle of 153 pieces for piano, written with a didactic purpose. That is, to give piano pieces which can be used from the very beginning and then going on. It is graded according to difficulties. And the word Mikrokosmos may be interpreted as a series of pieces in many different styles, representing a small world. Or it may be interpreted as 'world of the little ones, the children.'"
