Do What You Got to Do
You begin being totally innocent, then you start to grow up. Growing up is not always easy; things come at you when you least expect. Surprises come at you every day or year. Just when you think you have things the way you want them, wham! Another surprise comes, and it's not happy ones either. But living a safe life cannot be the best there is to offer. Sometimes we just have to do what we have to do in our way through life the best we can.
Calming Classroom Chaos
When we consider the WHY behind behavior, we can react differently with an open mind and heart. Student behavior often dictates the dynamic of a classroom, and educators must manage their environment to provide a safe, supportive space for all students to thrive. School presents unique challenges for kids who struggle with focused attention, behavioral regulation, and underdeveloped skills. Calming Classroom Chaos explains the role of sensory processing in behavior and discusses how executive functioning skills impact academic success. Since our assumptions of student behavior influence the strategies we might use to help a child, this book presents many ideas to broaden the explanations behind possible challenges students face. Our interpretation of any situation affects our expectations and the outcome. This changes how we engage with a student. How we respond is everything. Empower yourself with knowledge and tools. This book includes: - Targeted interventions for specific behavioral challenges in the classroom - Research-proven knowledge utilized by occupational therapists to address a child's difficulties with regulation and behavior - A summary of nervous system and brain-based functions that play a primary role in behavior and learning - A review of specific disabilities and the IEP (Individualized Education Program) and 504 special education process A fresh outlook and an effective toolbox have the potential to further inspire lasting change in the lives of your students.

Free Your Vagina
Do you think your vagina likes it when you insert things that don't give her pleasure? Your body is designed to breathe, urinate, digest, defecate and, if you were lucky enough to be born with a vagina, menstruate. All these processes have something in common. They are all natural and healthy biological processes, only one differs from the rest. Even though we menstruate for an average of 35 years, we treat menstruation as if it was something that doesn't belong to our bodies. We stuff things into our vaginas trying to control a fluid that our bodies are designed to process without any help from anything. But from someone. And that someone is you.Society sidelined us by downplaying the engine of life, they imposed secrecy, taboo obscured a much-needed sex education and western medicine did not consider doing studies on how our cycles work. The only way we can change this reality is by taking it into our own hands. To change an entire society, individuals have to change first. You have the opportunity to transform your menstrual reality, free your vagina and start bleeding your way.

The Unyielding Phoenix (MUW 1)
Regret quickly consumed Stefan after the divorce. He never anticipated that his once dull ex-wife would move on so swiftly, thriving in her newfound life. Suddenly, a young heir from an influential family declared himself her subordinate, a famous celebrity admitted to being her fan, and even one of the country's wealthiest individuals called her their mentor. 'I don't care how powerful your connections are, Renee Everheart. I'll tear down the walls you've built!' With that, the second son of the Hunt family decided to secretly protect her. Stefan would say, "My ex-wife is so fragile she can barely stand on her own; you mustn't take advantage of her." But everyone else would respond, "Who would dare mess with her? She'd tear our heads off over the slightest disagreement!" Stefan insisted, "My ex-wife is too naive; you shouldn't play with her emotions." Yet people would retort, "Naive? We've never seen a woman so unapologetically assertive!" Stefan would try, "Let me introduce you to this powerful figure, darling." But the so-called powerful figure would bow deeply, "No, no, she's the boss around here! I hope you'll accept my utmost respect!" From then on, Stefan lived a double life-an almighty CEO by day, but by night, he'd be on his knees, desperately trying to win Renee's heart back.

Our Dying, Our Death, Our Grief
Death is a clear-cut objective moment, but the process of dying and the choices we make for our own death and others is a wholly different subject. Not becoming educated on your ability to influence your dying process is leaving that potentially long helpless period to fate. Raw and informative, this book explores the truth and asserts your right to knowledge and your right to say "No" to medical procedures that ultimately only prolong suffering once imminent and inevitable death arrives. What can be done to decrease unnecessary suffering before inevitable death? This suffering is almost always influenced by a fear or lack of acceptance of death. For the most part the healthcare field cannot stop this pain and suffering due to many influences beyond its control, unless you know how to protect yourself. Ultimately, it is up to the patient or their medical guardian to ensure a peaceful and dignified death. It is obvious Vincent cares deeply about your awareness, knowledge, and choices, as well as your control of your body and your own health care. He cares to see your fears of this often dark and taboo subject decreased and hopefully alleviated. His professional and personal caring perspectives come from twenty-one years of bedside emergency and intensive care nursing in teaching hospitals, followed by fourteen more years of advocating for both the dying and the living to pilot their own health care. He takes a look at an otherwise bitterly-avoided subject that we all must face and turns it into a highly informative, easy, and at times even funny to read. There is a sweet icing on this normally hard-to-stomach cake known as dying, death, and grief: the author also has some great input on how not only to stay alive longer, but to feel more alive.

Are You My Friend?
I've worked in corporate America as an administrative assistant at Chase Bank in New York City and as a police dispatcher for thirty years in Niagara Falls, New York. So, I've lived in the "big city" and what would be seen as a "small city." I've worked with and for a diverse population-rich people, poor people, black people, white people, nice people, not-so-nice people old and young people. What I have come to know is that we all want the same things. We love and want to be loved. Whether it is in a relationship of marriage, family or friends, we want to be loved. And as hard as it is for some people to admit, we want to be liked.People get married for many different reasons, and family is DNA, but friends are the ones we choose. I consider myself a people-watcher, and I have watched the actions of some and wondered why they chose a particular person to be their friend. I have also watched the actions of friends and can point out why their friendship must be working.I don't consider myself to be an expert on friendship matters, but I do believe I have insight that I have gained in my over sixty-plus years of living that might be interesting and helpful to some. Though this is an easy read and could be read in one sitting, my suggestion is that you read a chapter at a time. Read it, meditate on it, and take in the affirmations in each chapter. Look at your most precious friendships and see how that particular point is working in your life.Maybe even read it with your friend or friends and see how they feel you all are doing. Open a dialogue that opens your heart even more.I hope that you receive something from this guide and hopefully it will help you to grow in your friendship.-Mary

The Homeview Family Life Center, Mt. Gillard Missionary Baptist Church, and the Alabama Department of Public Health COVID-19 Community Education Grant are pleased to bring you the first edition of the COVID-19 Youth Education Manual.Dr. Choona Lang has a Doctorate in Health Education. As a practitioner involved in the early stages of the COVID-19 Pandemic, she saw a need for adults and youth to have quality education about the disease. She found many myths in the community and felt a need to present factual information, especially to the youth.Dr. Lang found such an opportunity during the summer of 2022. Dr. Lang included COVID-19 education in the Annual Summer Enrichment Program at Mt. Gillard Missionary Baptist Church, facilitated by Monette Mottenon, and sponsored by the Homeview Family Life Center. This manual is the result of that initiative. The COVID-19 Youth Education Program includes this Manual and a slideshow presentation. In an effort to educate the youth in our community, we seek to share it with others through print and media. Our hope is that the youth will be empowered to reduce the incidence of COVID-19 through education and action. In addition, they may even find a cure in the future. We hope this Program adds value to your community as it did to ours.Monette Mottenon, affectionately known as "Ms. Mo", has been encouraging families for over 20 years. She has a Bachelor of Arts in Life Sciences and a Master of Science in Marriage and Family Therapy from Indiana State University. She is also a certified teacher. Fighting To Survive
Are you hurting, pain that comes upon your body every day as you rise? Do you have pain you've tried to explain to doctor after doctor, searching always for anyone who could understand and offer compassion to you? And yet no help comes time after time. No one knows, understands, or even searches information for the "Monster" that takes you to your knees, grabbing and holding anything to help you get through the unrelenting attacks that many times cause you to think you cannot survive. There is help for you. I write this to let you know we "sufferers" now have help. Six and a half years I lay in gripping, deathly pain, but praise God, help came. Read on, you can also be helped if this is your story. I'm definitely a country girl and proud of it. However, with my husband's job with JC Penney Co. we've moved from one side of the country to the other, seeing much and learning to meet people from all locations in the world. We had a great time showing our two children some wonderful sights in this amazing country!I love all the people, but nothing has impressed me more than the upbringing I had in our small country area outside of Maryville, TN. I credit my mother. Studying every afternoon was her lifeline. She told us many times over how the Bible would have us live. This is my most cherished memory and certainly has attributed to the person I am today, not perfect, but always forgiven.Judy

Grief, Forgiveness, Acceptance, and Rejection
Healthcare providers and the public had no education in how to conduct end of life grieving until 1969 when Dr. Elisabeth K羹bler-Ross published her experience with hospice patients at the end of life. She was a Swiss-American psychiatrist, a pioneer in near-death studies, and author of the internationally best-selling book, On Death and Dying (1969), where she first discussed her theory of the five stages of grief, also known as the "K羹bler-Ross model". Since then, grief has been expanded into different areas other than end of life. This book also describes the five stages of grief and adds two more stages. However, it delves deeper into the emotions involved with grieving and how one manages many grieving areas, such as death, divorce, job loss, and so forth. Therefore, this book is written for anyone going through a grieving process. We say pain, suffering, and grief are inevitable, but how to cope and improve life is only done with experiences and knowledge. This book is not just about grief, but other emotions that come into play such as forgiveness. As Forgiveness is associated with grief. We discuss the different types of forgiveness and how each functions. Understanding the emotions involved with forgiveness helps relieve the pain of hostility and grudges one may hold. Acceptance is the last stage of Kubler-Ross's five stages of grief, but we take this a step further into social acceptance, which also plays a role in grief. We discuss acceptance by others, such as friends and family. We include rejection by others, which can produce grief. We also discuss acceptance of others, such as people of other races, gender and so forth. Rejection of others, such as being prejudice, can lead to grief by the victims and others around them. I felt compelled to write about all the hatred, pain, and suffering causing grief around the world. I wrote this in empathy for my patients who grieve. I wrote this book out of my own experiences of grieving from health, personal and professional negative issues.

The Octogenarian Handbook
No mid-life adult wants to be an Octogenarian. But-if they think of the alternative-they all want one day to become one. As people approach their senior years, that hope strengthens as they realize only 5% to 15% of their life remains-if they're lucky.Peter Schroeder describes how to steer your life towards longevity. He shows there are only five ways to die-no alternatives-and one of these ways has your name on it. Ironically, each of these ways of dying is described by a single word beginning with the letter "A" easy to remember, hard to forget. Now in his mid-80s, the author recounts how as a 39-year-old diagnosed with terminal bone cancer, his doctors gave him only a few years to live. In looking for alternative medical systems, he traveled to an ashram in India where for three years two Ayurvedic healers helped him plan a "serene and beautiful death." But to his doctors' amazement, the disease went into remission. Since then, Schroeder has reclaimed his once-active life for more than four decades. As he contemplated his end of life, he narrowed the ways of dying down to only five. He gives readers a practical understanding of them and analyzes how people, as they age, might be able to influence their own personal passing. Written in a light-hearted and somewhat whimsical style, the book is not morbid or morose. Factual and gentle in style, it goes to the heart of this inevitable outcome we all face.
