Relational Capacity in Strategic Alliances in the Pharmaceutical Sector
It evaluates the relationship between conflict resolution, relational capacity and the performance of contractual strategic alliances. The universe of this study is Brazilian human pharmaceutical companies. The population of companies was defined as pharmaceutical laboratories, pharmacochemical companies, biotechnology companies and pharmacy chains. A structural and measurement model was drawn up consisting of causal relationships between these constructs based on existing theory. The model was used to define first and second order latent variables and measurable indicators. Primary data was collected from 159 companies through interviews with managers responsible for alliances. One alliance was studied in each company. To test the data collected on the measurement model, structural equation analysis was carried out using the Partial Least Squares method. The results show that there is consistency between the theoretical basis used in the study and the empirical data obtained.
Breastfeeding in the First Hour of Life
Breastfeeding has been recognized and recommended since biblical times as the ideal way to feed children in the first few months of life, and several studies have proven the countless benefits that breastfeeding brings to the mother-child binomial, especially when it happens in the first hour of life after childbirth. This study therefore investigates which obstetric and socioeconomic variables influence the development of breastfeeding in the first hour of life. What is the role of health professionals in promoting breastfeeding? Are mothers' wishes being respected in the delivery room? The benefits of early breastfeeding for mother and newborn are discussed, as well as the importance of prenatal care during pregnancy and some programs to encourage breastfeeding. This book should be very useful for health professionals and/or women who have children or want to become pregnant.

Endoscopic Approaches for Mandibular Condylar Fracture
Mandible fractures continue to be one of the most common forms of facial trauma worldwide. The incidence of condyle fractures varies with different studies and regions. Overall it ranges from 16 to 42% . The complications of condylar fracture include pain, restricted mandibular movement, muscle spasm and deviation of the mandible, malocclusion, pathological changes in the TMJ (tem-poromandibular joint), osteonecrosis, facial asymmetry and TMJ ankylosis. The goals of manage-ment are to restore normal occlusion along with adequate mouth opening, to minimize the risk of TMJ ankylosis and other possible pathologies, to decrease morbidity and increase quality of life of the patient. The two principal approaches recommended for the management are functional and sur-gical. Earlier, these fractures were commonly managed by closed reduction (CR). The preferance of conservative management over open reduction was due to the challenge of surgical access to the condyle and difficulty in positioning the proximal bone fragment and also the risk of damaging the facial nerves. However, in recent times, open reduction is preferred over closed reduction owing to its improved results.
Novel Medical and General Hebrew Terminology from the Middle Ages
This volume is both a continuation of the six already published titles in the series (2021-23) and an addition to the Concise Dictionary of Novel Medical and General Hebrew Terminology from the Middle Ages. It continues mapping the medical terminology features in medieval Hebrew medical woks in order to facilitate study of medical terms that do not appear in the existing dictionaries as well as identifying the medical terminology used by specific authors and translators in order to identify anonymous medical material. The terminology discussed in this volume has been derived from ten different sources, including translations from Ibn Sīnā's K. al-Qānūnby Nathan ha-Meʾati, Zeraḥyah Ḥen, and two anonymous authors. Further it contains terminology from the Maʾamar ba-Haqqazah, an anonymous Hebrew translation of Abū Bakr Muḥammad ibn Zakariyyā al-Rāzī's K. fī al-faṣd, as well as from an anonymous translation of Guy de Chauliacʼs Inventarium sive Chirurgia Magna.

Clinical and pathological aspects associated with otitis externa in dogs
Otitis externa is the most common disease of the ear canal in dogs. This disease is painful, causes extreme discomfort and requires immediate treatment. Negligence in the treatment and management of animals can lead to chronic otitis and/or otitis media, which can result in impairment of the vestibulo-cochlear apparatus and rupture of the tympanic membrane, leading to loss of hearing and quality of life. This book emphasizes the importance of individualized clinical-pathological and laboratory evaluation associated with the etiology in cases of canine otitis externa, with a view to choosing the appropriate therapeutic protocol for successful treatment. In addition to describing the clinical-pathological aspects of otitis externa in naturally affected domestic dogs and evaluating sensitivity in vitro and clinical efficacy in vivo, it aims to provide useful information for the development and application of diagnostic measures, effective treatments, prevention and control, thus guaranteeing hearing health and animal welfare.

Handbook of Autoimmune Diseases
Manual de Doen癟as Autoimunes - Breve Discuss瓊o para o M矇dico N瓊o Especialista (Handbook of Autoimmune Diseases - A Brief Discussion for the Non-Specialist Physician) is a book that resulted from the academic activities developed by the Liga Acad礙mica da Autoimunidade (LAAI - Academic Autoimmunity League) of the Ponta Grossa State University Medical School. The LAAI was set up in 2011 by Professor Fabiana Postiglione Mansani and a group of academics as a project to provide a complementary study to the medical curriculum, covering the main autoimmune diseases, diagnoses and treatments. During the 7 years of its existence, it was observed that the training of general practitioners leaves a gap in the diagnosis of the main immunological diseases. The aim of this handbook is therefore to provide a quick reference on the main autoimmune diseases for general practitioners working in primary healthcare units, as well as for medical and pharmacy students.

Ethical Issues in Cardiovascular Medicine
This book provides an exploration of the ethics of cardiology practice. It provides a variety of frameworks for analyzing ethical issues that arise in cardiovascular medicine.Cardiovascular medicine--the diagnosis and treatment of congenital and acquired diseases of the heart, major arteries, and veins--has seen rapid change in diagnosis, treatment, and the organization of practice in the last half of the twentieth and the beginning of the twenty first century. The complexity of these developments has resulted in increasing subspecialization, and many practitioners are challenged to stay abreast with the latest developments in cardiology. These changes also bring with them various ethical challenges. The chapters in this volume are divided by five broad areas of practice: beginning-of-life, end-of-life, transplantation and allocation of expensive or scarce resources, professionalism, and research. The case-based approach presented across the volume provides a perspective that will allow readers to reason through current and future ethical issues as they arise in this rapidly changing field.Ethical Issues in Cardiovascular Medicine will be of interest to researchers working in bioethics, clinical ethics, and the philosophy of medicine, as well as practicing physicians, nurses, and students who work in cardiovascular medicine.
Lung Ultrasound as a Physiotherapy Assessment Tool
Lung Ultrasound as a Physiotherapy Assessment Tool. Lung assessment using ultrasound is a topic of growing interest in the assessment of critically ill patients. The lung ultrasound (USP) technique is based on the fact that all acute aggressions reduce aeration in the lungs, altering their surface and generating predictable and distinct patterns, which allows diagnoses to be made and therapeutic interventions to be monitored. The intensive care physiotherapist has an overview of the patient and has the task of continuously assessing a patient's physiological functions in real time, with the aim of guiding the therapy to be applied and observing the response to treatment. Thus, the purpose of this study was to analyse the clinical application of lung ultrasound in the day-to-day work of hospital physiotherapists.
Chemical submission
Chemical subjection is the administration of chemical substances to a person, without their consent and without their knowledge, for criminal purposes. This is intended to produce a change in their state of consciousness and behaviour and in this way, the offender can manipulate their will and take advantage of it to commit the crime. Most of the time, this practice is related to crimes against sexual freedom and the victims are young women. The typical scenario is that of a young woman who has consumed alcoholic beverages and wakes up in an unknown place, half-naked, not knowing what has happened to her, with the feeling that she has had some kind of sexual intercourse without her consent. In recent decades, this phenomenon has increased notably, acquiring great social relevance and has therefore been the object of the attention of health experts, toxicologists and forensic experts, and numerous studies have been carried out on the chemical substances used, as well as epidemiological studies, and both health and legal measures have been taken in this respect.

Revising Medical Education
In the realm of medical education, the philosophy of teaching and learning plays a fundamental role in shaping instructional practices and student outcomes. Educators' personal theories of learning often influence their teaching approaches, emphasizing the importance of engaging students in a manner that fosters curiosity, critical thinking, and active participation. Goals for instruction typically revolve around not just knowledge acquisition but also the development of problem-solving skills, teamwork abilities, and a deep understanding of medical concepts. Students are expected to take an active role in their learning process by attending classes regularly, engaging with course materials, and seeking clarification when needed. In contrast, instructors bear the responsibility of creating a supportive and stimulating learning environment that encourages student participation, provides constructive feedback, and promotes a culture of continuous improvement. Variables that promote effective learning include interactive teaching methods, opportunities for self-directed learning, and the integration of real-world scenarios to enhance relevance and application of clinical knowledge.
Hip mobility in patients with chronic low back pain
Low back pain is a chronic problem that affects many people around the world. The aim of this study was to correlate hip range of motion with pain in patients with chronic low back pain. The results showed that the highest incidence of low back pain was in females, that there was a random distribution of low back pain in the different age groups and that all individuals had a reduction in range of motion in all hip movements. Understanding the mechanisms that influence the onset of low back pain can help in health decision-making, reducing treatment and medication costs.
Laser Enucleation of the Prostate
To evaluate the efficacy and applicability of Holmium Laser Enucleation of the Prostate (HoLEP) in the treatment of benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH), comparing it to transurethral resection of the prostate (TURP). Both procedures were explained to patients with an indication for surgical treatment and they chose which procedure would be carried out, HoLEP or RTUp. All clinical data was collected at the hospital and a reassessment was carried out after 90 days. Results: 20 patients were operated on in the HoLEP group and 21 in the RTUp group. The preoperative peak urinary flow was 8ml/s in both groups. The preoperative symptom score was 22 in the HoLEP group and 20 in the RTUp group. Operative time was 85 minutes in the HoLEP group and 60 minutes in the RTUp group, p
Acupuncture and Physical Performance
The aim of this book is to shed light on the influence of acupuncture and moxibustion on improving physical performance and physiological responses to exercise, by analyzing cardiorespiratory and metabolic variables (VO2max, VCO2max, among others) before and after treatment. We conclude that the treatment is effective in relation to the objectives set, but that a greater number of samples must be gathered to prove the results achieved so that the data collected can be reproducible and reliable in the eyes of science. This book is aimed at Physical Education professionals, Physiotherapists and all those who are interested in the possibilities that acupuncture and moxibustion offer in the most diverse areas of activity. It offers a more academic and scientific view of a subject that still has a lot of empiricism, as well as providing a basic protocol for those who want to improve the physical performance of their students and/or patients.
Systemic arterial hypertension
Cardiovascular diseases are currently the leading cause of death worldwide, with systemic arterial hypertension being the most common form of these diseases, affecting around 30% of the global population. In the elderly, this rate rises to 60% and is the group that has the highest morbidity and mortality rate due to hypertension. Physical exercise is known to have numerous benefits for cardiovascular health. Based on the assumption that the aquatic environment is very effective for the elderly in various types of treatment and that water promotes a series of changes in the cardiovascular system, this study aims to investigate how hydrotherapy can influence systemic arterial hypertension in the elderly.
Manual of Histological Techniques and Histological and Ultrastructural Features of Some Endocrine Glands
Histology, branch of biology concerned with the structure of plant and animal tissues in relation to their specialized functions. This term came into usage in the 1700s by the scientist Marie Fran癟ois Xavier Bichat who is considered to be the father of modern histology and descriptive anatomy. Histologists mainly examine the tissue that have been removed from the living body, cut into very thin transparent slices (using a special cutting instrument, the microtome and may then be stained with various dyes, and specifically with the H & E stain, to increase the contrast so that the cells can be more easily resolved using an optical microscope. Ultra structure (or ultra-structure) is the architecture of cells and biomaterials that is visible at higher magnifications than found on a optical light microscope. In 1931, German engineers, Max Knoll and Ernst Ruska invented the first electron microscope. This traditionally meant the resolution and magnification range of a conventional transmission electron microscope (TEM) when viewing biological specimens such as cells, tissue, or organs. The Science of Endocrinology deals with the study of Endocrine glands. The Author of this Book has tried to assemble the histological and ultrastructural details of the major endocrine glands with the contribution of Scientists related with these topics. Hope this will be a immense help to the Researchers in recognizing the structural details with the particular functions of the tissues.
Atherosclerosis
The epidemic of atherosclerosis is recognized by the World Health Organization as a global threat, and is considered a potent independent risk factor for a cardiac event and a coronary heart disease equivalent. To determine the effectiveness of an educational program on atherosclerosis risk factors in patients at the Physician's Office, a quasi-experimental intervention study was conducted with 35 patients between the ages of 30 and 70 years dispensed at risk for atherosclerosis. Based on the needs identified, an educational program was designed and implemented. The proposal implemented had a favorable impact on the patients, since positive modifications were made in their lifestyles.
Sexuality and Reproduction
The period following an injury is initially marked by asexuality, followed by a period of discovery while rehabilitation takes place, and emotional support is very important during this process. Re-adapting to the new situation is extremely influenced by social and emotional aspects, in which the individual experiences negative feelings such as anguish, disbelief, anxiety and despair at the need to restart their sex life. This is a social representation study designed to describe the experiences of women with spinal cord trauma (SCI) about sexuality and reproduction in these conditions. Eleven women affected by SCI took part in the study, all of whom were members of the Rio Verde Association for the Physically Disabled (ADEFIRV) in the city of Rio Verde, Goi獺s. Data was collected using a sociocultural questionnaire and free evocations, as well as a semi-structured interview. Analysis of the results showed that the meanings attributed by the participants to the experience of sexuality and reproduction after SRM were related to specific concerns and experience.
Psychotropic drugs in older adults
Older adults are targets of polypharmacy and inappropriate prescription, and self-medication with psychoactive substances is a potential risk for them. A descriptive, cross-sectional study was conducted in 2021 with the aim of proposing actions focused on reducing the consumption of psychotropic drugs in older adults at the 21st Medical Clinic. In 66.1% of the patients, it was found that they were unaware of the risks of psychotropic drug use in the elderly. A proposal of actions was designed to increase the knowledge of the elderly about the risks of these drugs and to promote intersectoriality for the realization of entertainment activities to get out of the daily routine, relax and avoid stress and practice other alternatives to reduce the consumption of psychotropic drugs.

Older men’s feelings after bereavement
The study aims to analyse how the feelings involved after widowhood for elderly men affect their health. This is an exploratory, descriptive study with a qualitative approach. The research sample consisted of seven elderly widowers from module 16, aged over 60 who had been married for more than 20 years. Data was collected between February and April 2015 by means of a semi-structured interview. The data was analysed using Bardin's content analysis, and it was possible to detect that the feelings involved in the loss of a spouse affect the health of the elderly, generating the appearance of health problems or intensifying existing ones. The presence of feelings of depression, longing and sadness involved in the departure of the spouse was verified. It was found that most of the interviewees face this new social status with family support. The research provided a new insight into the profile drawn up by these elderly people of the ideal model of marriage and wife. Contributing to the care and management of these elderly people, providing better nursing care for the elderly who are widowed.
Green Banana Flour Cookie
Celiac disease (CD) is an autoimmune enteropathy caused by permanent intolerance to gluten in genetically predisposed individuals, which causes damage to the mucosa of the small intestine, reducing the absorption of essential nutrients for the proper functioning of the body. It affects 0.3 to 1% of the world's population and around 0.89% of the Brazilian population. It is estimated that the prevalence of celiac disease affects around 300,000 people in Brazil. Of every eight people with the disease, only one is diagnosed. Currently, the only form of treatment for CD is the total and permanent removal of gluten from the diet. However, the greatest difficulty in feeding coeliacs is access to products made with gluten-free ingredients that have sensory characteristics that are pleasing to the consumer. The gluten-free products available on the market are not produced on a large scale, are expensive and become inaccessible to the less economically favored social classes. The aim of this study was to produce gluten-free cookies from green banana flour as an alternative for people with celiac disease.
Acute Myeloid Leukemia
Acute myeloblastic leukemias (AML) constitute between 15% and 20% of leukemias in pediatric patients. In order to describe patients diagnosed with acute myeloid leukemia in the remission induction stage, a descriptive, cross-sectional study was carried out in patients diagnosed with acute myeloid leukemia at the University Pediatric Hospital "Jos矇 Luis Miranda" of Santa Clara. We worked with 24 patients. Almost all of them presented anemia, leukocytosis and thrombocytopenia. The main complications were sepsis and febrile neutropenia, which showed no association with sex or age of the patients. Hyperleukocytosis was present in obese patients and cardiotoxicity predominated in overweight and obese patients.
Phase Angle, Nutritional Status and Clinical Outcomes in Oncology
Currently, different nutritional assessment tools are used in surgical oncology patients in clinical-hospital practice, which can result in different malnutrition prevalence rates. This can influence the interpretation of the association between nutritional status and adverse clinical outcomes in this population. Standardised Phase Angle (SFA) has aroused great interest in recent decades, as it is an objective, rapid and non-invasive method, obtained directly using Electrical Bioimpedance (EBI). This parameter derives from the relationship between reactance (resistive capacitance of cell membranes) and resistance (pure opposition of the biological conductor to the electric current), which body tissues offer to the passage of a low-intensity electric current. In general, low AFP values are associated with negative health outcomes in surgical oncology patients. It is therefore important to assess the association between AFP and nutritional status, provided by different tools, and to relate it to post-operative clinical outcomes in this population.
Uterine rupture in 60 cases
Uterine rupture is a dreadful obstetric complication that can be life-threatening both vital prognosis. Uterine rupture is a rare but serious medical, surgical and obstetric emergency. but serious. It is associated with high maternal and fetal mortality. Early diagnosis is essential to ensure the best possible treatment.Preventive measures should be encouraged to prevent the occurrence of this complication.
Autoimmune Disease, its General Features
Autoimmune disease is a condition in which the body's immune system mistakenly attacks the body itself. The immune system naturally defends the body against pathogens such as bacteria and viruses. When he notices the presence of these alien invaders, he sends an army of fighter cells to attack them. Normally, the immune system can distinguish between foreign cells and self-cells. In an autoimmune disease, the immune system considers a part of the body, such as joints or skin, to be foreign and releases proteins called antibodies to attack healthy cells. Some autoimmune diseases attack only one tissue. Doctors still don't know what actually causes the immune system to go wrong. However, some people are more likely than others to develop an autoimmune disease. According to research conducted in 2014, women suffer from autoimmune disease twice as often as men, and most of the disease occurs during women's reproductive years. Also, some types of autoimmune diseases are common among certain groups.
Twisting appendices
Adnexal torsion is a gynecological surgical emergency, its pathogenesis is multifactorial and remains poorly elucidated, but it seems that the keystone of all these mechanisms is the existence of an adnexal mass.A retrospective study of 60 cases of patients admitted for adnexal torsion at the Monastir Gynecology-Obstetrics Department from January 1, 2017 to January 31, 2022, revealed that this pathology represents 14.93% of all gynecological emergencies.

Progression was favorable in 67%, and death in 8%.The diabetic foot represents a heavy socio-economic burden. Prevention is the best option.
Ovarian Cryopreservation and Bone Effects
Cryopreservation of ovarian tissue restores fertility, as is already widely known in the scientific world. However, there are no published articles addressing its influence on bone metabolism despite the increase in technologies that increase the survival of cancer patients. This book aims to show that care for morbidities related to the treatment of cancer patients opens up a new paradigm for science: autotransplantation of ovarian tissue after vitrification and reimplantation alters estradiol levels and has a positive bone effect. This new frontier opens up new knowledge and future clinical applications for patients undergoing treatment for cancer and other diseases that lead to ovarian failure and infertility.
