Currently, the gap between the lack of technical, digital and soft skills not offered by higher education and those required by the labor market has become a critical issue that affects employability and competitiveness in the labor market, which does not allow them to succeed in increasingly demanding work environments, because the lack of soft skills, such as time management, empathy and leadership skills, represents a significant gap that hinders job placement and professional development, for the knowledge required in today's world of work. In this context, higher education must create new careers, after analyzing the employability needs of the public, productive and tertiary sectors; complemented with skills and competencies, such as: communication, resilience, public ethics, teamwork.
Teaching Development in Music
This work is the result of a master's thesis developed in the Postgraduate Programme in Education at the Federal University of Santa Maria-UFSM. The aim of the research was to investigate the repercussions of the 'LEM Programme: Playing and Singing' for initial training and teacher development, from the perspective of music graduates/performers. To this end, the aim was to find out the objectives of the undergraduates when they took part in the LEM Programme workshops, to analyse the relationships they establish between the music workshops, their initial training and their teaching development, to understand the assumptions that underpin the development of teaching in the workshops and also to situate the 'LEM Programme: Playing and Singing' in the context of academic-professional training. The article discusses teacher training and professional development, their significance for undergraduates, the relationship between experiences in music workshops and professional training, and the assumptions that underpin teaching in music workshops. The LEM Programme is highlighted as a place for academic and professional training and performance.
Political and Pedagogical Conceptions of the Rural School
This paper presents the results of the in(ter)vention-action research carried out with the school community of the Atanagildo Domingues State School in the municipality of Arroio Grande-RS. The aim was to discuss the education being offered to the sons and daughters of workers belonging to the community in which the school is located. This school is geographically located in the countryside, which is why we used the conceptions of rural education as a reference when discussing the concept of education that underpins the school's educational project. This research was carried out based on the principles and assumptions of action research, i.e. in(ter)vention-action research that relied on the protagonism of the subjects that make up the community. All those involved were present to discuss, interact, problematise and participate in the process of understanding and appropriating the school's educational project. Discussion circles were held based on Freirean inspiration and they realised that in order to build their ideals, the school needs to educate from a libertarian perspective.
Teacher Training and Identity Construction
This book is the result of an investigation carried out with two Uruguayan students on a degree course in Portuguese/Spanish Languages. Based on the assumption that the construction of identity is a process that involves language, this research was carried out in order to find out how the process of constructing the teaching identity of these students takes place. According to De Nardi (2005, p.6), when "we talk about identity and subject, we are therefore talking about language and subjects, since we are entering the space of the symbolic, of a symbolic mediation that allows the production-understanding of a language". Language is therefore conceived as a symbolic dimension that allows the subject to identify itself. In other words, in this work it will be possible to visualize how each of the informants sees and feels in both languages and what these languages mean to each of them, thus elucidating the processes these students go through to assume and construct their teaching identity.

Overview of Genetics in Biology undergraduate programmes in GO
This is a documentary study with a qualitative-quantitative approach, with the aim of investigating the syllabuses of the subject of Genetics in undergraduate Biological Sciences courses in the state of Goi獺s, by means of a mapping involving the Pedagogical Projects of the respective courses, with the aim of reflecting on the contributions that this subject brings to the training of future biology teachers for basic education. To this end, we analysed how the syllabuses of the genetics subjects in these courses are structured. Authors from the fields of genetics, genetics teaching and education were used as a theoretical basis for analysing the data collected. The results show that the syllabus is focussed on the specific contents of Genetics, without showing any concern for the teaching of Genetics. This can also be seen in the main works cited in the basic and complementary references.

We understand public schools as a duty of the state, but a democratic one, in other words, open to all classes, groups and ethnicities. One that offers quality education to the public, in the sense of training the human being in all aspects, and training the subject, making them capable of intervening in the society in which they live, transforming it, if necessary, into a fairer and more equal society. School is considered by some to be the transitional space between the world of the home and the wider world. Therefore, the aim of this study is to observe the structure of the school, the didactics of the supervising teacher in the subject of geography, and to prepare and carry out classroom teaching for EJA students in Phases 3 and 4. To this end, a study was carried out in which a bibliographical appraisal was first developed, pertinent to the empirical object, that is, the school. The theoretical framework served as an analytical basis for the research, as well as for the methodological procedures of the observations linked to the experience and the school regency. The institution was then visited in order to assess the reality of the school, its community and its administrative and pedagogical management.

This research is situated in the field of the History of Education and focuses on the life of Henriqueta Galeno (1887-1964), an educator who worked in the patriarchal scenario of the first half of the 20th century, standing out for her dedication to literature and feminism. The aim was to biographize her with an emphasis on her training and educational practices. It used documentary research to collect primary sources - newspapers Di獺rio Carioca (1931 to 1936), Jornal do Recife (1931); Di獺rio Oficial do Estado do Cear獺 (1914); as well as compendiums produced by the biographer - Henriqueta at the Feminist Congress, At the Carioca Academy of Letters and At the Cearense Center (1932), a posthumous work entitled Admirable Women (1965) and photographs from the Juvenal Galeno House Archive, were also considered as sources. The analysis was theoretically based on Loriga (2011), Machado (2010), Perrot (1988), Telles (2013), Ponte (2001), Freyre (2004) and Borges (2006), among others. It was found that Henriqueta Galeno was a lawyer who worked as an educator, was the first teacher at the Liceu do Cear獺 as well as inspector of Secondary Education in the first half of the 20th century.

We opted for a mixed research approach and as data collection techniques we used a questionnaire and interviews with managers, teachers, students and parents/guardians respectively.

Die Mehrheit der Studierenden (70 %) bevorzugte und akzeptierte die im Voraus geplanten Tutorien als bessere Lehrmethode als die traditionelle. 84% der Studierenden in unserer Studie gaben an, dass sie zu mehr Selbststudium motiviert sind. Die Mehrheit der Studierenden (85%) in unserer Studie gab an, dass sie F瓣higkeiten auf hohem Niveau entwickelt und verbessert haben. Biochemie ist ein Grundlagenfach f羹r das vorklinische medizinische Curriculum.Es muss f羹r die Diagnose von Krankheiten w瓣hrend des Studiums und in der Praxis effektiv gelehrt und gelernt werden. Jede Fakult瓣t bem羹ht sich, die F瓣higkeiten der Studenten zum selbstgesteuerten Lernen zu verbessern, aber es wird oft festgestellt, dass die Studenten nicht auf die Tutorien vorbereitet sind. Um solche Probleme zu 羹berwinden, war es notwendig, die traditionellen Tutorien zu 瓣ndern. Die Einf羹hrung eines im Voraus geplanten Tutoriums in den bestehenden Lehrplan war einer der innovativen Ans瓣tze, um den Unterricht in Biochemie st瓣rker auf die Studierenden auszurichten.

Todos os docentes se esfor癟am por melhorar as capacidades de aprendizagem aut籀noma dos estudantes, mas verifica-se muitas vezes que os estudantes n瓊o v礙m preparados para as tutorias. Para ultrapassar estes problemas, foi necess獺rio alterar as tutorias tradicionais. A introdu癟瓊o de um tutorial planeado antecipadamente no curr穩culo existente foi uma das abordagens inovadoras para tornar o ensino da Bioqu穩mica mais centrado nos estudantes.

The process of teaching and learning English as a foreign language needs improvement, and this study aims to address the effectiveness of CLIL and gamification in the educational context. The main objective is to gather relevant bibliographic information to verify whether the use of the CLIL methodology and games can have a positive impact on the productive skills of young learners of English as a foreign language. To achieve this, an in-depth examination of previous studies, general information, the advantages of the CLIL methodology, together with a variety of games and their potential contribution to improving oral and written communication skills is required. It is worth noting that there is a shortage of relevant literature and research on this particular topic in some South American countries, unlike other countries. Furthermore, the present research involved the collection and analysis of existing studies, which lends credibility to the findings. In particular, some aspects of Content and Language Integrated Learning (CLIL) and ganification have not been widely applied or known by teachers and students in South American educational institutions.

In wireless communication, signals are traveling in open space, hence signals are easily affected by noise, interference, fading, etc. Based on characteristics of the noise, interference or fading, we can formulate various types of channels. One such type of channel is called α-κ-μ and α-κ-μ extreme fading channels. In general, signals are more affected by fading as distance increases. Hence the relay is used to refresh the signal to avoid the fading effect. The various relay strategies used are 'decode and forward', 'amplify and forward' and 'demodulate and forward'. In literature, α-κ-μ and α-κ-μ extreme fading channel are analyzed using decode and forward strategy. This project analyze the same channels using amplify and forward strategy.

Teaching in the EJA in the face of the specificities of the students
The purpose of the research that led to this book was to understand what view and images EJA teachers have/construct about the school trajectories of their students, and whether or not they re-signify their pedagogical practices based on this view. Specifically, we investigated the treatment given to the students and, similarly, to the curriculum content, as well as possible attempts to reconstruct educational practice based on the peculiarities brought by young people and adults. The data from the investigation shows a change in the conceptions once held about students, that they are people 'who don't want anything to do with life'. However, this has not led to changes in the treatment of content, which in turn continues to be taught with a configuration alluding to other teaching practices, notably those of the early years of primary school. On the other hand, in terms of the macrostructural issues of pedagogical practice, there was a climate of intense intertwining, so that the teachers were aware of the students' trajectories, and the students found their pedagogical approach pleasant.
Evaluation of the Ability to Organize Time for Study
In today's society, individuals must learn to make sound decisions in short periods of time, due to the constant changes in the ways in which information is socialized and the search for continuous and multiple knowledge in professional life. Universities therefore face a number of challenges in the professional training of their students, one of which is developing the ability to organize study time, which is essential because when students don't make rational use of their time, a number of problems can be generated, especially in terms of academic performance and health. The general aim of this study, based on authors from the Historical-Cultural perspective, was to investigate the assessment that students on the Civil Engineering course at UFRN make of their ability to organize study time during their university course. It is important to understand the students' assessment so that the institution can find ways to enable students to learn the skill of organizing their study time, thus improving their academic performance and their health, as well as their professional training.
The German Neukirchen Mission and Education in Tana River, Kenya
Christian missionaries from western Europe and USA pioneered western formal education in Africa in mid 19th century. Missionary organizations like the CMS, AIM, GMS, HGF, MHF, UMM, CSM among others ventured mainly in the interior of Kenya when they faced challenges at the Kenyan coast because Islam had already taken root. The German Neukirchen Mission (GNM) concentrated in Tanzania and dared to stick in Tana River district, Kenya in spite of the Muslim presence and harsh climatic conditions. The GNM did not only introduce christianity but also western formal education. Their departure following the outbreak of the Second World War was an anti-climax coming at a time they were about to open a secondary school in the calibre of Alliance High School, the current top boys' school in Kenya. They introduced vocational/technical education not as an inferior education for Africans but a necessary and equally important education just as the literary/academic education.
The effects of LOCI Method on EFL vocabulary learning
The main objective of the study was to investigate the effects of LOCI method training on vocabulary learning. In order to figure out that the quasi-experimental research design for non-equivalent control group was applied that was fundamentally because the groups seemed similar but only one group received the treatment. As a result teachers, syllabus designers and educators could consider the loci method in educating the up coming generation in high schools, colleges or universities.

However, despite all the legal apparatus that Brazilian basic education has, it has been experiencing major problems that insist on remaining in the school environment. So, in the quest to consolidate this right, many families are looking to public schools to guarantee their children a satisfactory and full education. This has led to the phenomenon of students migrating from public to public schools, a movement of low-income families who have looked to the 'Bolsa Fam穩lia' social programme for support in guaranteeing their right to an education that is based on a right. The aim of this study is to understand the causes of the migration of primary school pupils from public to public schools in a municipality in the state of Maranh瓊o.

This book presents the Didactic Intervention Project (PID), whose central theme is 'The Philosophical Text in High School Philosophy Classes'. It is hoped that the students will realise what skills are needed to write philosophical texts, and to develop their writing and reading skills. The aim of the analysis is to provide the means to reflect on organised knowledge as a need for individuals, and that the philosophical text in philosophy classes in the 1st year of secondary school enables the development of reading practices as experiences of reflection and philosophical criticism. The justification for this intervention is that the students realise what skills are needed to write philosophical texts and that we, as educators, should lead our 1st year high school students to write new stories and be more effective in writing and reading their philosophical texts, so that they become more critical and reflective within and outside the community in which they live. The methodology and interaction carried out during this book was fundamental for this research to achieve the expected results.

Religious Education, characterised as a subject in the normal curriculum of schools, with optional enrolment by students and compulsory provision by school institutions, has made me realise the need to better understand its practice as a school subject and an integral part of the student's integral formation. This reflection, presented as the Final Paper for the DOCTORATE IN RELIGION, aims to analyse in three chapters the reality of Religious Education in Porto Alegre, RS, from the perspective of two educational institutions: the J繳lio de Castilhos State School and the Cora癟瓊o de Maria Adventist College. In this way, I intend to understand Religious Education from three perspectives: 1) Analysis of the normative texts; the Federal Constitution of 1988, the Guidelines and Bases Law, the State Teaching Law, and the Curriculum Parameters; 2) analysing the profile of the teachers; 3) outlining the profile of the students with regard to Religious Education. As a reflection, these are initial observations based on a case study, limited by the fact that only two institutions were involved.
