Songs & poetry of the Oglesby's Collection
Oglesby was a songwriter and work alongside various musician, in the 1960's thought the 1990's. He used to tell me stories about the 1960s and 1970s when I use to visit him. He passed away recently, and left a vault of original written songs and poems to me. After going through his songs, I finally realize songs from today are a mess. Being that he loved the 60s and 70s, it was only fitting to start with book 1: Love and Friendship.

With great pleasure, we announce the publication of the second book devoted to one of Armenia's most important ashughs. The focus of our attention is on Sheram as a poet of love this time.Ashough Sheram of Armenia composed so many beautiful and memorable songs that are still performed today that we are confident that his music will continue to live on long after his passing in 1938. The beauty, complexity, and sometimes unconventional nature of his melodies have earned him the nickname Sheram, which refers to a silkworm. "You are weaving your melodies in a similar manner to a silkworm", was an observation by the distinguished Armenian poet Hovhannes Hovhannisyan once, resulting in the birth of his new musical avatar.There are thirty songs by Ashough Sheram in this book, which have been translated for the first time into English by the publisher.A large part of Sheram's lyrics has been composed in the Alexandropol dialect (Gyumri) of Armenian. Therefore, to assist Armenian readers who are unfamiliar with this dialect in understanding the songs, a comprehensive dictionary is provided at the end of the book with English terms where applicable.And finally, the last chapter contains the musical notation of the songs as transcribed by Sheram's son, composer Vardges Talyan circa 1948.

Creedence Clearwater Revival
Creedence Clearwater Revival were a San Francisco band of the 1960s that had nothing to do with Human Be Ins, Timothy Leary, or the Summer of Love. They were, for a time, the most popular band in the US but never scored a number one hit. They were headliners at Woodstock but didn't appear in the film or on the soundtrack LP. They shared a radical 'back to basics' sensibility with The Band but were not embraced by the emerging rock press with anywhere near the same enthusiasm. When the punks were hunting dinosaur bands to extinction in 1977, Richard Hell covered one of their songs on his debut album. In the 1980s, as their songs became staples of 'classic rock' radio, they were revered by underground bands like The Gun Club, The Minutemen and The Scientists. As Butch said to Sundance, 'Who are those guys?' In this book, a track-by-track analysis of all the band's recorded output, Tony Thompson rolls up the sleeves on his plaid shirt and prepares to answer the big questions. Who's Jody? What is 'chooglin'? Where is Green River? Why can't the singer leave Lodi? Who was the fortunate son? Is the bathroom on the right?

At the height of the blues revival, Marina Bokelman and David Evans, young graduate students from California, made two trips to Louisiana and Mississippi and short trips in their home state to do fieldwork for their studies at UCLA. While there, they made recordings and interviews and took extensive field notes and photographs of blues musicians and their families. Going Up the Country: Adventures in Blues Fieldwork in the 1960s presents their experiences in vivid detail through the field notes, the photographs, and the retrospective views of these two passionate researchers. This volume is not only an adventure story, but also a scholarly discussion of fieldwork in folklore and ethnomusicology. Including retrospective context and commentary, the field note chapters describe searches for musicians, recording situations, social and family dynamics of musicians, and race relations and the racial environment, as well as the practical, ethical, and logistical problems of doing fieldwork. The book features over one hundred documentary photographs that depict the field recording sessions and the activities, lives, and living conditions of the artists and their families. These photographs serve as a visual counterpart equivalent to the field notes. The remaining chapters explain the authors' methodology, planning, and motivations, as well as their personal backgrounds prior to going into the field, their careers afterwards, and their thoughts about fieldwork and folklore research in general. In this enlightening book, Bokelman and Evans provide an exciting and honest portrayal of blues field research in the 1960s.

Sex Pistols
There was the Sex Pistols and there was the rest. The Sex Pistols ARE punk; the rest are 'punk rock.'Amidst the chaos that was the Sex Pistols, it's often forgotten just what a powerful band they were, and what great records they made. The Sex Pistols were no ordinary group.Their story might be short, and not without its casualties, but their legacy is undoubted; one listen to their ferocious, raw rock and roll will soon tell you that. No British band since the Beatles has done as much to shape the nation. Musically, the Pistols' impact was enormous and continues to resonate; they didn't just kick down doors; they trashed the music industry's house. For a band who (really) only released one album and four incandescent singles - "Anarchy in the U.K.," "God Save the Queen," "Pretty Vacant" and "Holidays in the Sun" - they gave birth to a sea of imitators and inspired a DIY aesthetic still alive today. Not bad for a band that 'couldn't play.'Despite claims from New York, the Sex Pistols were the true originators of punk; no one else had their attitude, balls, or honesty - as inspired by anger and poverty, as art and poetry.

Matte S.S. Black, changed from Matt Jonas because of his Disassociation Identity Disorder (or what used to be called Multiple Personality Disorder) from his childhood abuse. This condition has been undiagnosed Mattes whole life as he has regressed to his childhood and other personalities often to help him cope. Matte's brain structure sits in between/next to autism, schizophrenia, indigenous shaman, mathematical genius, and his psychiatrist basically classed him as the artistic genius in the circle. This puts him in the .01% of the population that has access to a part of their brain most people don't even know to exist let alone use. Matte's artistic abilities are incredible, to say the least. The way he can connect with other people in other dimensions and learn in other realms and manifest some of these things in the third dimension is a rare gift according to his psychiatrist. Matte has always been told he is talented... that's not the case... he's gifted. Matte has quite a few personalities that help him create and cope in life. Sarah Scarletton, a 3 year old girl, (the S S part of Matte's name) was the first to emerge and is the most prominent. Matte usually dissociates to her first but other alters can be present or take over. Matte is writing a "journal" since his formal diagnosis as this helps him to recollect some of his childhood memories as painful and sickening as they might be, This is helping him to understand why his brain functions the way it does and why it's wired like that. Matte was voted #1 sign writer and Airbrush artist in Australia. But this is the worst title you could have in the art world as talentless crap that is drooled over and Matte is shunned. Quote from Matte "Dear artist, don't become a highly-skilled artist, it will cost you your career in the arts". Matte delves deep into the discrimination he has had to endure from left-brained, analytical, pretentious people running the arts in Australia. Matte has also developed a way of making instruments from just out of his head, there are no schematics or diagrams to when he built his drum kits and guitars, he just makes them from his ability to learn/see and bring back these abilities to manifest what he sees in his minds eye.
