Spatial Violence and the Documentary Image
State and corporate violence has always been waged on material space. However, with the escalation of late-capitalist and neocolonial modes of extraction, incarceration, and bordering, these processes of spatial exploitation are accelerating and morphing. In this eloquent and wide-ranging study, Patrick Brian Smith examines how the documentary image is responding-aesthetically, discursively, and politically-to these transformations in spatial violence. Forging connections between a geographically disparate set of documentary works, Smith argues that over the past two decades we have seen an increasing number of experimental documentary works that are structured around radical interrogations of the spatial. This study is aimed at analysing the various tools that anglophone Cameroon playwrights employ to write plays and the processes. Our findings have proven that one of the tools used is choosing the topic (inspiration). They palywrights have different methods of choosing the topic and one of the methods is to observe the society, they observe the society and collect raw materials. With futher findings, we realized that important events of the society, history, dreams, imaginations, images from newspapers and magazines all serve as inspiration for playwrights. When playwrights are vested with materials to write, they engaged in the processes of writing which is now putting down the tools (ideas) into writing by plotting, structuring and using styles and techniques to make the play unique and captivating.

Theatre in Handwriting
In German spoken theatre, prompt books used to be written by multiple participants engaging in diverse manuscript practices which continually revise the unfixed literary text within its theatrical context. Based on examples of the vast Hamburg 罈Theatre-Library竄 from the 1770s to 1820s, this study proposes a transdisciplinary approach towards handwritten artefacts in modern European theatre. Martin J繹rg Sch瓣fer and Alexander Weinstock examine the many-handed creation, handwritten transformation and often decades of use of prompt books in a time increasingly dominated by print. This perspective changes our notion of theatre history around 1800 as well as that of literature and authorship.

The Masque of the Red Death
The Masque of the Red Death (1964), the seventh collaboration between producer-director Roger Corman and horror icon Vincent Price, became the crowning achievement for both men, their masterpiece. After the critical and commercial success of House of Usher in 1960, Corman fervently desired to adapt Edgar Allan Poe's story, 'The Masque of the Red Death' as his next project, but the tale took three years to finally become, not Corman's second Poe film, but his second to last. Its long development benefitted the end result, and the story of its making reveals the persistence and vision of Corman, the artist and entrepreneur of classic horror. In this Devil's Advocate, Steve Haberman takes an auteurist approach to the film with Corman as the ultimate author of the work. He explores the emergence of Corman's themes and techniques through directorial control and compares them with the intentions and concerns of the story's original creator, Poe. In his research, Haberman secured both drafts of the script, the first by Charles Beaumont and the last by R. Wright Campbell, consulted published interviews and met with Corman. The result illuminates not only the film but the profound and profoundly dark world views of both Roger Corman and Edgar Allan Poe.
Nature
Nature is a modern variation of the legend of Brigadoon. Its enchantment transported to a valley in Sussex. Two major themes entwine: Obsession and Transformation. Obsession is the abduction of a young, society artist (Fay) from a London Park by a ruthless businessman (Billy Bricks) who then pursues a charm offensive of amusing homily stories. However, the young woman has prior knowledge of Bricks because of a secret shared by her late mother, Lizzie. Transformation is in the form of a valley that behaves as a single, conscious entity: it lures, manipulates and alters the destiny of all its inhabitants. The play, with visionary aspects, moves from thwarted desire and bitter truth to human sacrifice in the grandeur of Nature.

Throughout Southeast Asia, film stars hold an important place in popular culture. They feature prominently in magazines and newspapers, on billboards and cinema marquees, at public events and premieres, and on the internet and social media. The Play Amrapali is based on a famous story of the Buddhist period in India. Generally, many stories and characters, as enshrined in the great epics of the Mahabharat and the Ramayan of India, are creatively transferred and have wider acceptability and readership among the public. The incidents of Buddhist and Jain texts scripted in Pali and Prakrit languages strongly impact contemporary life in society and literature. While reviewing the literature of Bauddha Bhikshunis (female mendicants), I came across Ambapali, a Courtesan (Bride of the City) of Vaishali. There was a small state, Vaishali, in North India two thousand and six hundred years ago. It was the Sangha-governed Republic. A vast mango orchard was on the outskirts of this city. One day, while wandering, the mango grove's watchman was startled to see an abandoned newborn girl beneath a mango tree. As per the approval of the state council, the issueless watchman nourished and nurtured the girl. When she found the child under the mango tree, she was named after Amrapali/Ambapali/Amba.Like a celestial nymph, Amrapali became a young nubile girl known for her beauty and charm. She was divinely graced. She was second to none in dancing and singing. Having participated in the Annual Dance Programme, Ambapali was declared the 'Royal Court Dancer' by the State Republic. Because of her extraordinary beauty, the Merchants, the Barons, and the members of the State Council started fighting among themselves to be with her. So, the state Board of Council announced the Courtesan (Bride of the City) for the city's welfare. Every male in the town would have the right to spend time with her.The anecdote of Amrapali's beauty and dance performance of sublime order had been spread worldwide. The insolent Emperor of Magadha, the enemy state of Vaishali Republic, Bimbisara, had disguised himself to enter the palace of Ambapali and received hospitality as a guest for seven days. When the State Council of Vaishali came to know about the matter, it immediately tried to arrest King Bimbisara; Ambapali helped him escape the spot. Then, the love story of Bimbisara and Amrapali was brought to the limelight. The State Council accused Ambapali of developing a love relationship with the King of the enemy state. On the other side, the King of Magadha Bimbisara fought with the Vaishali Republic to marry Ambapali and won the state. However, Ambapali showed hesitation in moving to Magadha and leaving Vaishali. At this time, the most compassionate Lord Buddha reached the city. Ambapali surrendered at the feet of Tathagata Buddha and started to lead the life of a female mendicant with the hope of getting nirvana (Salvation).

Raqs in the City
In the city of Cairo, certain spaces bear strong historical associations with belly dance, belly dancers, and professional entertainment in general. Azbakiyah, Imad al-Din Street, and Muhammad Ali Street were all staging grounds for innovations in Egyptian belly dance, as well as in Egyptian music, song, and theater, at the turn of the nineteenth and twentieth centuries, and in the Egyptian popular imagination, these places continue to be linked to entertainment and entertainers. However, research reveals that the ties binding these spaces to entertainment extend much deeper: in some cases, this relationship can be traced back to the Fatimid era. The longstanding associations between belly dance and certain Cairene spaces demand a more in-depth investigation into the nature of this historical interconnection. In this work, the author examines the relationship between belly dance space and belly dancer in the Cairo landscape over the course of the city's history, relying on a theoretical framework informed by Pierre Bourdieu's theory of practice, Michel Foucault's concept of heterotopia, and Mikhail Bakhtin's notion of the carnivalesque. This analysis reveals the mutually constituting relationship between dance, dancers, and the Cairene landscape and explains why and how certain Cairo spaces have retained their centuries-long historical associations with belly dance and its professional practitioners.
