Geogebra software as a tool for teaching maths
In the course of this work, we sought to answer the following question: can the Geogebra software be effective in acquiring mathematical concepts and motivating students in the first year of secondary school at Col矇gio Estadual Professora Joana Batista Cordeiro to learn the subject? To this end, a bibliographical study was carried out on authors in the field of information technology applied to education, making use of software in teaching, in particular Geogebra. After the bibliographical study, three didactic sequences were drawn up, involving the mathematical content of Plane Geometry with the Geogebra software, which were applied to students in the first year of secondary school at the Col矇gio Estadual Professora Joana Batista Cordeiro, during the Supervised Internship III course. Questionnaires were administered to the students to analyse their opinions of the software and to some maths teachers. The results showed certain limitations for maths teachers, which prevented them from incorporating certain innovations into their lessons. From the students' responses, it can be concluded that the Geogebra software is considered an effective tool in the teaching and learning process.

Addressing Afro-Brazilian and African culture in school Physical Education
The relevance of discussing the theme "The Approach to African and Afro-Brazilian Culture in School Physical Education Classes" in this paper is due to a problematisation about the historical demand of the black population for social inclusion, as well as the commitment of school Physical Education to this demand. The backdrop, on the one hand, is the exclusion of black people in Brazilian society as a result of the slave regime, as well as their struggle to reverse this situation of social marginalisation. On the other hand, the very historical and epistemological foundations of school Physical Education in the country, which initially corroborated the social exclusion of the black population by rejecting the black body, promoting European aesthetics and propagating hygienist and eugenic ideals, but which later came to defend a critical perspective, committed to social inclusion and diversity. The aim is to introduce a brief history of Afro-Brazilian culture and the legal bases on which the inclusion of African and Afro-Brazilian culture in education is now based, in order to ensure that it is taught.

Analysing the Working Environment of a Poultry Processing Plant
In recent years, Brazilian poultry farming has undergone extraordinary changes, making Brazil one of the largest poultry producers and exporters in the world. The poultry sector has moved from a farm-owner operation to an economy of scale, made possible by the association of numerous producers. However, employees' work functions have not been modernised, thus increasing physical effort, monotony and RSI/WMSD. In this context, this study aims to identify the risks to workers' health that have been assessed in the poultry slaughtering process in a slaughterhouse. A case study was carried out by observing and analysing the workers carrying out their duties. The literature review was based on the processes carried out in the slaughterhouse and the principles and concepts of risk. The risk analysis made it possible to establish the biological, physical, chemical, ergonomic and accident risks of each operating post assessed. Finally, the analysis proposed a study that serves as the basis for a review of the current practice and policy of worker health care at the slaughterhouse.

Atrazine Herbicide Degradation Process Fenton Technology
With the advancement and modernisation of agricultural technologies in order to obtain better crop production results, there has been an increase in the use of agricultural inputs and pesticides, leading to an imbalance in the environment and, consequently, in the soil and water. The herbicides used to control pests and weeds in crops have caused major questions as to the cause of soil degradation and the pollution of surface and groundwater. Among them is the herbicide Atrazine, which has been studied for the environmental impact it causes when used in a disorderly manner. This herbicide is difficult to degrade and in the fields where it is used it is necessary to use efficient processes to treat the effluent generated by it, and the Advanced Oxidative Process (AOP) is a treatment that consists of a chemical process through the degradation of its pollutants. Among the AOP mechanisms, the Fenton process has oxidising properties that react with the Atrazine compound causing it to degrade into a toxic substance, showing efficiency in relation to other processes, both in terms of cost and benefit.
Congenital toxoplasmosis, low vision and school inclusion
The inspiration for the theme of School Inclusion of Students with Sequelae of Congenital Toxoplasmosis came from my teaching experience with a student participating in the inclusive school process in a regular classroom, whose sequelae of congenital toxoplasmosis was low vision, and who had a history of aggression towards regular students and a conflictual relationship with his mother and regular teacher. This student was part of a case study to complete my postgraduate thesis in Human Development, Education and School Inclusion at the University of Brasilia. This study resulted in the production of this book, which I present to readers. My concern in carrying out this study was to investigate everything from the complex process of being affected by the disease, the functioning of his inclusive school process, including the participation of his family, to whether the reasons for his conflicts at school and with his mother were in any way linked to the sequelae of congenital toxoplasmosis.

The main objective is to discuss how collaborative practice is conceived and carried out in the context of UDESC. The text is divided into three chapters. The first chapter presents a definition of the collaborative pianist and the skills that characterize them, with an emphasis on sight-reading. The second chapter briefly analyzes the process of training piano students at UDESC. The third chapter reports on a workshop held with piano students at this institution, from which we tried to ascertain the extent to which collaborative activity is compatible with the professional and artistic expectations of its undergraduate piano students.

Philosophies of the maxillomandibular relationship applied to rehabilitations
This book deals with the philosophies of the maxillomandibular relationship in prosthetic rehabilitation. The maxillomandibular relationship used in the planning and execution of prosthetic rehabilitation is controversial and usually linked to the complexity of the treatment. The aim of this study was to determine the philosophy taught by educators at Brazilian Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) regarding the maxillomandibular relationship as a function of the type of prosthetic rehabilitation treatment indicated, as well as to define the educator's profile. A questionnaire survey was applied to five clinical scenarios of patients with discrepancies between RC and MIH. It was concluded that there is a great diversity of philosophies used at HEIs as to which maxillomandibular relationship is the most recommended. The choice depends on the extent of the prosthetic rehabilitation treatment employed and the presence of signs and symptoms of traumatic occlusion. The educators' philosophy was consolidated during postgraduate studies, and the professors are masters and doctors in the field of oral rehabilitation.

Equestrian ballets (balletti a cavallo), although little known today, emerged as valued dramatic entertainments in early modern Europe, capable of demonstrating the wealth and magnificence of the patrons who commissioned them as well as the horsemanship and military skills of the noblemen who rode in them. Although the horse ballet did not originate in Florence, that city--and its ruling grand dukes, the Medici--acquired a reputation for excellence in the genre. Between 1608 and 1686, the court commissioned horse ballets to commemorate important state events such as Medici weddings or visits by foreign visitors. In Singing of Arms and Men, author Kelley Harness undertakes the first comprehensive study of the seventeenth-century Florentine horse ballets. She demonstrates how these works communicated messages relevant to the occasions for which they were performed, delivered by means of texts sung in styles similar to contemporary opera and punctuated by choreography and dramatic structure. Mock battles fought with swords and pistols animated audiences but also provided visible instances of conflict, which were then interrupted by the sudden arrival of a deus ex machina, who commanded the combatants to instead join forces to defeat a common enemy. The knights then demonstrated newfound cooperation through their creation of choreographed figures danced on horseback in time to music. Documentary evidence confirms that the Medici family expended significant financial and human resources on these one-time events, revealing just how much work it took to appear effortless. Ultimately, Harness shows how the balletto a cavallo played a crucial role in Medici self-fashioning during the period, and that the 250 noblemen invited to lend their equestrian skills both confirmed their family's relationship to the Medici and were provided a venue for demonstrating critical markers of masculine nobility.

Mapping Canada's Music is a selection of writings by the late Canadian music librarian and historian Helmut Kallmann (1922-2012). Influence of Aflatoxin on the phagocytic capacity of neutrophils and mo
Aflatoxin is a mycotoxin that can be present in various foods and is a source of poisoning for humans and animals. Patients with aflatoxin poisoning have a worrying degree of morbidity and mortality. However, little is known about its effects on the human body and how immunopathological processes are triggered. As phagocytosis is a very important mechanism, it is necessary to understand the possibility of it causing immunodepression in the individual. The aim of this study was to evaluate the influence of aflatoxin on the phagocytic capacity of human neutrophils and monocytes by counting the number of monocytes and neutrophils involved in phagocytosis, the average number of Saccharomyces cerevisiae yeasts phagocytosed and/or adhered and the phagocytic index and superoxide production. The results showed a negative modulation of phagocytosis, both due to a reduction in the yeasts ingested/adhered and the lower number of cells involved.

Mankind - Music - Technology
This book examines the modalities of human relationships and technology as reflected in the musical thinking of the authors of art music of the 20th and early 21st centuries. The discursive and reference frame of the treatise consists mainly of individual artistic poetics and more general musical-aesthetic reflections embedded in the basic theoretical concepts of technology and its functions in culture and society. The departure point for the work is Heidegger's lecture "Die Frage nach Technik", in which he suggests humanising technology through art. The book chapters examine the relationships between man, music, and technology from three points of view. Chapter 3 deals with music from a technical point of view, chapter 4 analyses the transformation of the musical artefact in the developmental arch of the 20th century from numerical abstraction through digitisation to materialisation in musical as well as non-musical art forms. Chapter 5 is a representation of man and his thinking in relation to technology in music. Here we distinguish between four basic types of attitudes in musical thinking on technology, categorised by the degree of influence attributed to technology: techno-utopian/techno-optimistic, techno-realistic, techno-sceptic, and post-technological. In the latter, we define four basic artistic strategies forming separate types: critical attitude, adaptation of technological models, recycling, and inspiration. These strategies are ranked from generally negative attitudes through specifically positive to generally positive.

Herbert Thompson (1856-1945) was chief music critic at The Yorkshire Post from 1886 until 1936, as well as being the Yorkshire correspondent for the Musical Times. This volume includes a critical edition of his Reminiscences, and a substantial selection of his published music criticism. Thompson offers a fascinating commentary on the nature of music criticism and the value of programme notes, along with his views on a plethora of composers (including J. S. Bach, Brahms, Mendelssohn, Meyerbeer, Stanford, Sullivan, and Wagner), performers (such as Leonard Borwick, Joachim, Clara Schumann, and Sivori, plus a range of operatic and concert vocalists), and conductors (Buths, Costa, Nikisch, Richter, von B羹low, amongst others). In addition to charting his concert-going in London (with reference to institutions such as the Philharmonic Society, the Bach Choir and the Crystal Palace concerts) and documenting a range of performance timings, Thompson also discusses programming at provincial festivals (including Bridlington, Gloucester and Hovingham, but especially Leeds) and the variety of music-making in Yorkshire. Not only does Thompson highlight the rich detail of British musical life, but his description of his musical tour of Europe in 1889 represents a significant contribution to nineteenth-century travel writing and the nature of music-making abroad.
