Cytobiology of Human Prostate Cancer Cells and Its Clinical Applications
The number of males diagnosed with prostate cancer (PCa) is increasing all over the world. Most patients with early-stage PCa can be treated with appropriate therapy, such as radical prostatectomy or irradiation. On the other hand, androgen deprivation therapy (ADT) is the standard systemic therapy given to patients with advanced PCa. ADT induces temporary remission, but the majority of patients (approximately 60%) eventually progress to castration-resistant prostate cancer (CRPC), which is associated with a high mortality rate. Generally, well-differentiated PCa cells are androgen dependent, i.e., androgen receptor (AR) signalling regulates cell cycle and differentiation. The loss of AR signalling after ADT triggers androgen-independent outgrowth, generating poorly differentiated, uncontrollable PCa cells. Once PCa cells lose their sensitivity to ADT, effective therapies are limited. In the last few years, however, several new options for the treatment of CRPC have been approved, e.g., the CYP17 inhibitor, the AR antagonist, and the taxane. Despite this progress in the development of new drugs, there is a high medical need for optimizing the sequence and combination of approved drugs. Thus, the identification of predictive biomarkers may help in the context of personalized medicine to guide treatment decisions, improve clinical outcomes, and prevent unnecessary side effects. In this Special Issue Book, we focused on the cytobiology of human PCa cells and its clinical applications to develop a major step towards personalized medicine matched to the individual needs of patients with early-stage and advanced PCa and CRPC. We hope that this Special Issue Book attracts the attention of readers with expertise and interest in the cytobiology of PCa cells.

De huidige studie is een poging om de veiligheid en aanvaardbaarheid van een eenmalige orale therapie van Albendazole met DEC bij microfilaremische pati禱nten te achterhalen en om het toxicologische profiel van de standaarddosis en het hoge doseringsregime van Albendazol met DEC te beoordelen bij orale toediening aan albinomuizen. Er werd geconcludeerd dat een enkele hoge dosis veilig en aanvaardbaar was voor de meerderheid van de deelnemers aan de studie. De reacties van mannen in vergelijking met vrouwelijke proefpersonen waren goed. De meeste proefpersonen gaven er de voorkeur aan om medicijnen in minder frequente doses in te nemen. Ook weigerden de meesten de kauwbare te nemen. Uit dit onderzoek bleek ook dat het een effectiever regime was bij het verminderen van microfilaria en / of volwassen wormbelasting, wat nuttig was voor het langdurig handhaven van een aanhoudende amicrofilaremische toestand. Wanneer dit regime op het wereldwijde programma wordt toegepast, kan het het transmissieblokkerende potentieel van het medicijn effectief ondersteunen en daardoor de tijd verkorten die nodig is voor het elimineren van de infectie.

Palm Oil-Derived Natural Vitamin E
Vitamin E has long been shown to be associated with an antioxidant activity. Tocotrienols serve as the predominant vitamin E and presented in high quantities in palm oil, rice bran and barley. There is a growing body of evidence regarding the manner in which tocotrienols mediate their antioxidant activities. Experimental studies have suggested that the antioxidant activity of tocotrienols is mediated through the induction of phase II antioxidant enzymes such as; glutathione peroxidase (GPx), NADPH: quinone oxidoreductase (NQO1), superoxide dismutase (SOD), etc. The induction of phase II enzymes protects against free radical damage and reduces the incidence of radical derived degenerative diseases.

These legislations allow for the use of cannabinoids and cannabis to alleviate some of the symptoms associated with terminal cancer, epilepsy and neurological illnesses. However, there are serious public health concerns associated with marijuana as some experts argued that these jurisdictions have not effectively regulated its use in a manner consistent with the international drug control treaties. In many cases, Subbaraman (2014) indicated that marijuana is being diverted for use in non-medicinal purposes. In most of these countries, poor regulation of medical cannabis programs is attributed to the low perception of risk among the policymakers and the members of the public as a whole. In 2019, we sent out a call for submissions to a Special Issue of Marine Drugs entitled "Marine Chitin 2019", and we are pleased that this issue has now been published. Over 16 high-impact papers were included in this issue, which we now plan to publish as a book. In addition, we now seek to publish a further Special Issue of Marine Drugs, "Marine Chitin 2020-2021". As before, we plan to produce an authoritative and exciting issue that will encompass breakthroughs in scientific and industrial chitin and chitosan research. Significant advances in chitin and chitosan research have been made since the 1970s, and current overviews in recent publications involving chitin and chitosan research advances are in need of an update.
Plasma based Synthesis and Modification of Nanomaterials
This book, entitled "Plasma-Based Synthesis and Modification of Nanomaterials" is a collection of nine original research articles devoted to the application of different atmospheric pressure (APPs) and low-pressure (LPPs) plasmas for the synthesis or modification of various nanomaterials (NMs) of exceptional properties. These articles also show the structural and morphological characterization of the synthesized NMs and their further interesting and unique applications in different areas of science and technology. The readers interested in the capabilities of plasma-based treatments will quickly be convinced that APPs and LPPs enable one to efficiently synthesize or modify differentiated NMs using a minimal number of operations. Indeed, the presented procedures are eco-friendly and usually involve single-step processes, thus considerably lowering labor investment and costs. As a result, the production of new NMs and their functionalization is more straightforward and can be carried out on a much larger scale compared to other methods and procedures involving complex chemical treatments and processes. The size and morphology, as well as the structural and optical properties of the resulting NMs are tunable and tailorable. In addition to the desirable and reproducible physical dimensions, crystallinity, functionality, and spectral properties of the resultant NMs, the NMs fabricated and/or modified with the aid of APPs are commonly ready-to-use prior to their specific applications, without any initial pre-treatments.

A simple, sensitive, rapid and selective isocratic reversed phase High Performance Liquid Chromatographic (HPLC) method has been developed for Zopiclone from bulk drug using a mobile phase consisting mixture of Acetonitrile: Buffer (pH 2.8) (80:20v/v) Composition of buffer: (0.272gm in 200ml HPLC water and pH adjusted to 2.8 using ortho Phosphoric acid) at the flow rate of 1.0 mL/min. A Cosmosil C18 (250 cm x 4.6 mm, 5 μm) column was used as stationary phase.
