Swine can be infected with different mycoplasmas. Some of them are important pathogens, causing significant health and welfare issues in pigs and major losses to the swine industry worldwide. Other mycoplasmas are not pathogenic for swine and can be considered commensals. Protein Concentration in Chicken
The purpose of this study was to provide sufficient essential amino acids and to reduce dietary protein levels to an undesirable effect on carcass quality and to investigate the effect of different levels of protein on carcass composition to provide a diet with lower protein levels and more economical feed to poultry. 150 one-day-old broilers were divided into three groups for high protein, medium protein and low protein. During the period, weight gain of chickens and total feed intake of each group were evaluated. Water retention, brittle measurement, post-freezing dripping loss, dry matter or moisture content, mineral or ash measurement, lipid measurement and carcass protein measurement were studied and the data were analyzed statistically. Results show that there was a significant difference in the weight gain of the chicks on a weekly basis in the first, second, third, fifth and sixth weeks, and the high protein group had better weight gain. In this research, we tried to study the changes in carcass composition and growth efficiency by providing essential amino acids such as methionine and lysine and decreasing the protein level.

Protective effect of camel urine & milk against alcoholic liver damage
This research was implemented as 2 experiments to investigate the protective effect of camel urine alone or mixed with camel milk against alcohol induced liver damage in Wistar albino rats, because in Sudan this combination is used extensively in traditional medicine claiming that it can cures a lot of diseases including liver disease and jaundice; 25 Wister Albino rats of both sexes were brought for each experiment and divided into 5 groups. Group 1(control), group 2(ethanol 10%), group 3(Silymarin tablets plus ethanol 10%), Group 4 (mixture of camel milk and urine in exp2. or just urine in exp.1) and group 5 rats were administered with the same mixture of group 4 in exp.2 or a just urine in exp.1 plus ethanol 10%. All treatments were given by an oral intubation, experiments lasts for 28 days, rats were euthanized, blood samples and liver sections obtained. Hepatoprotective effects of camel's milk and urine mixture were recorded and this could be attributed to antioxidant activity or to its chelating effects on toxicants. Drinking raw camel milk and urine mixture was used and found to be safe without any ill effects.
Bronchoscopy Trip in Dogs
Bronchoscopy has been an integral part of respiratory disorders practice in veterinary medicine since1970s. This work was done in Endoscopy unit, Dept. of Internal Medicine and Infectious diseases, faculty of veterinary medicine, Cairo University for the 1st time in Egypt and conducted on 97 dogs from different species, breeds, sex and localities during the period from 2003 to 2010, 73 healthy and 24 with respiratory illness. By using the standard system configuration which allows Observation (Diagnosis), BAL, and Photography from the eyepiece portion the work objectives achieved in terms of orientation of Bronchoscopy instrumentation and techniques, morphological studies of larynx, trachea and bronchial tree in healthy and diseased dogs, cytological studies of BAL of healthy and diseased dogs, the effect of age on bronchoscopic features of healthy dogs and grading of tracheal collapse in diseased dogs. Fiberoptic tracheobronchoscopy is a safe and rewarding technique for the diagnosis and management of a wide spectrum of respiratory tract diseases. Special techniques enhance the diagnostic spectrum of bronchoscopy include bronchoalveolar lavage.

Pathogenesis of delta-aminolevulinic acid-accumulating porphyrias
Porphyrias are diseases caused by inherited or adquired inhibition of enzymes of the heme biosynthetic pathway, what is in the core proteins like haemoglobin, myoglobin and cytochromes. There are eight catalytically steps in this metabolic way. Excepting the first, defects in other enzymes may cause accumulation of porphyrin metabolites in the body tissues and fluids, as delta(5)-aminolevulinic acid (ALA). Two inherited diseases cause ALA-overload (acute intermittent porphyria and inherited tyrosinemia) and one adquired syndrome (lead poisoning). Pathogenesis of ALA-accumulating porphyrias is not fully understood, mainly neurological symptoms (convulsions). In addition, treatment of seizures is not easy, because majority of anticonvulsive exacerbate porphyria crisis. Academic Performance of Students of Veterinary and Animal Sciences
Despite excellent teaching and learning resources, some students academically perform better than others, while others fare dismally poor. With this background, the present study was conducted to explore and identify the personal and institutional factors that influence the academic performance of students of veterinary and animal sciences in Tamil Nadu (India). Data were collected from 280 students of four Veterinary colleges in the State and analyzed. Analysis of data revealed that community, medium of instruction, higher secondary marks, educational stream, school location, education board, mother's secondary education, parental involvement in studies, having personal text books, difficulty in understanding topics were found to affect students' performance significantly. The logistic regression function model was fitted to predict the probability of good academic performance of sample students, which indicated that the coefficients for the variables viz., community, higher secondary marks, educational stream, school management, school location, parental involvement in studies, having personal textbooks, interest in higher studies were found to be statistically significant.

SAT is een geheel nieuwe en effectieve behandeling voor gevallen van recidive bij melkvee door SCE; het veroorzaakte een toename van de reproductieve prestaties en het cumulatieve zwangerschapspercentage, terwijl het bijna niets kost.Deze nieuwe behandelingsmethode kreeg de naam "Samia-treat; SAT", er zijn meer studies nodig over een groter aantal dieren om ons resultaat te bevestigen, en een beter begrip te krijgen van het mechanisme dat echt voorkomt in SAT.
Vitrification of goat oocytes and their in-vitro fertilization
Reproduction is one of the most important physiological functions of the body. All living things come from eggs, at birth a female calf has about 1,33,000 Oocytes in her ovaries. As early as 18th century, physiologist realized this fact and initiated research uncovering these wastage of female gametes thus evolved in I.V.M.F.C and cloning. In case of goat, higher number of embryos could be produced by superovulation. Continuous supply of oocyte could overcome through cryopreservation of oocytes. Concerned to various freezing techniques for the cryopreservation of oocytes, vitrification technique is simple, less costly and less time consuming. This book will give a suitable time for vitrification during oocyte maturation and evaluate the vitrification protocol by subsequent I.V.F.in goat.
