Captain Blood
Captain Blood: His Odyssey is an adventure novel by Rafael Sabatini, originally published in 1922. Sabatini was a proponent of basing historical fiction as closely as possible on history. Although Blood is a fictional character, much of the historical background of the novel is loosely based on fact. "Captain Blood" is a classic for good reason. Sure, it's a challenge for 21st century readers to wade through the archaic language of a novel written nearly 100 years ago, but Sabatini's mastery of characters and story makes the labour more than worth it. Barely escaping the gallows after his arrest for treating wounded rebels who were fighting the oppressive King James, Blood flees England and becomes enslaved on a Barbados plantation of buccaneers.
Clairvoyance And Occult Powers
This book is a treasure chest full of occult wisdom. It includes twenty lessons on that will let the reader dive deep into his own powers, strange phenomena and spiritual wisdom. There is in every human being a sense which is not generally recognized as such, although nearly every person has had more or less experience regarding its workings. I refer to the sense of the presence of other living things, separate and apart from the operation of any of the five ordinary physical senses. I ask you to understand that I am not claiming that this is a higher sense than the other physical senses, or that it has come to man in a high state of evolution.
Macbeth
Macbeth is a tragedy by William Shakespeare. It is thought to have been first performed in 1606. It dramatizes the damaging physical and psychological effects of political ambition on those who seek power. A brave Scottish general named Macbeth receives a prophecy from a trio of witches that one day he will become King of Scotland. Consumed by ambition and spurred to action by his wife, Macbeth murders King Duncan and takes the Scottish throne for himself. A Scottish noble and an initially valiant military man, Macbeth, after a supernatural prophecy and the urging of his wife, Lady Macbeth, commits regicide, usurping the kingship of Scotland. He thereafter lives in anxiety and fear, unable to rest or to trust his nobles.

The Last Man
The Last Man is an apocalyptic, dystopian science fiction novel by Mary Shelley, first published in 1826. The narrative concerns Europe in the late 21st century, ravaged by a mysterious pandemic illness that rapidly sweeps across the entire globe, ultimately resulting in the near extinction of humanity. Once part of the most significant social circle of second-generation Romantic poet-intellectuals, Shelley now found herself almost alone in the world. As it kills off character after character, The Last Man recreates this history of loss along with its author's crushing sense of loneliness.
Practical Psychomancy And Crystal Gazing
Atkinson presents lessons on how to use and refine divination tools that are present in every human. He explains clairvoyance, psychomancy, psychometry and astral projections and how to use our "other" senses to gather information and impact outcomes in physical reality. New Thought" adherents at the turn of the 20th century vehemently believed they could tap into latent and mysterious mental powers, and one of the most influential thinkers of this early "New Age" philosophy offers here, in this delightfully weird 1908 work, a crash course in this benign and useful magic. He authored dozens of New Thought books under numerous pseudonyms, some of which are likely still unknown today, including "Yogi Ramacharaka" and "Theron Q. Dumont.
The Red House Mystery
The Red House Mystery is a "locked room" whodunnit by A. A. Milne, published in 1922. It was Milne's only mystery novel. Far from the gentle slopes of the Hundred Acre Wood lies The Red House, the setting for A.A Milne's only detective story, where secret passages, uninvited guests, a sinister valet and a puzzling murder lay the foundations for a classic crime caper. And when the local police prove baffled, it is up to a guest at a local inn to appoint himself 'Sherlock Holmes' and, together with his friend and loyal 'Watson', delve deeper into the mysteries of the dead man.

Professional Business Etiquette & Grooming
In today's increasingly global arena, technical knowledge alone is not enough to ensure success. Sophistication is more and more the catchword. Given a choice between two equally talented individuals, corporations will choose the candidate with greater interpersonal and social grace skills to represent it. As our world becomes a smaller place and our economy becomes increasingly global in scope, it is becoming increasingly clear how important good manners are in all cultures. In fact knowing how to treat others well is more important now than ever. After all who we are shows in how we behave and how we appear to others. How we look, talk, walk, sit, stand, eat - ie; how we present ourselves-speaks volumes about who we are and creates the first impression that others form of us. This is true not only in personal life but more so in our professional life. With a world that's becoming more and more competitive, proper business etiquette and interpersonal skills play an increasingly important role in the success or failure of anyone's business career and the company they represent. Knowing how to behave courteously and professionally is far from trivial. Etiquette and protocol does count in the business world, as no matter how brilliant an employee may be, his or her lack of social grace can make a bad first impression on clients and business associates.Studies have shown that more than 60% of what is believed about us is based upon visual messages- What people see!At many Fortune 500 companies, top management take potential front line employees to lunch or dinner to observe their comfort level with executives, spouses, waiters and even with the various pieces of silverware. Like it or not, management equates good manners with competence and poor manners with incompetence. Table manners can make or mar a mega-merger, especially in an era when companies are competing on the basis of service-this can be a crucial business skill. Good manners are good business!Your inability to handle yourself as is expected could be expensive--no one will tell you the real reason you didn't get the job, the promotion, that big business deal or the social engagement. Your social graces and general demeanor can tell as much about you as the way you handle an issue. Fair or not, others equate bad manners with incompetence and a lack of breeding, and the cumulative effect of this repeated faux pas in an organization, can be devastating leading to a major loss of respect, credibility, loss of reputation, and business! Your Success can start today with 'Professional Business Etiquette & Grooming' to help increase your confidence in your image, business etiquette and interpersonal skills, enabling you build rapport & trust with your business customers and associates, increased teamwork, productivity & employee retention, resulting in business growth by helping everyone get along & outclassing the Competition.Proper business & social etiquette will thus give you a competitive edge in today's market...in fact, it's the only survival skill required!

Women in leadership make everything better in this bold and urgent call for change.Women in leadership find their self-confidence challenged even when their performance is strong. The Peter F. Drucker Reader
The best of Peter F. Drucker's articles on management, all in one place. That "management" exists as a concept, a practice, and a profession is largely due to the thinking of Peter F. Drucker. For nearly half a century, he inspired and educated managers-and powerfully shaped the nature of business-with his iconic articles in Harvard Business Review.Through the lens of Drucker's broad vision, this volume presents an opportunity to trace the great shifts in organizations in the late twentieth and early twenty-first centuries-from manufacturing to knowledge work, from career-length employee tenures to short-term contract relationships, from command-and-control structures to flatter organizations that call for new leadership techniques. These articles also offer a firm and practical grasp of the role of the manager and the executive today-their responsibilities, their relationships, their decisions, and detailed processes that can make their work more effective.A celebrated thinker at his best, in this volume Drucker paints a clear and comprehensive picture of management thinking and practice-both as it is and as it will be.This collection of articles includes: "What Makes an Effective Executive," "The Theory of the Business," "Managing for Business Effectiveness," "The Effective Decision," "How to Make People Decisions," "They're Not Employees, They're People," "The New Productivity Challenge," "What Business Can Learn from Nonprofits," "The New Society of Organizations," and "Managing Oneself."

Down in the Dumps
"With the increasing integration of the major economies of the world, trade frictions have also increased. The Uruguay Round of multilateral trade negotiations, once scheduled for completion in December 1990, has been slowed over the issue of agricultural subsidies. The U.S.-Japanese trade relations have continued to be a source of friction between the two countries.
