In this work we proposed an integration between hospital architecture and the cultivation of microalgae, based on conceptual ideas, where hospital environments would benefit from a significant reduction in CO2 and waste since they would be used by the microalgae for their growth. It would also help to ensure noise reduction, thermal insulation, hot water generation, the production of medicines and the production of biofuel from biomass transferred into electricity, among other advantages that will have repercussions on environmental health and the environment in general. It could be replicated by health systems in different countries.

East Naples' contemporary history is not special, or unique: its processes shaped a mostly grey suburb nestled in the immediate vicinity of the great southern city, sharing its limits and feeding its needs. In today's polarized world, we are increasingly pulled into echo chambers where it becomes harder to understand perspectives other than our own. To have a pluralistic worldview, we need to learn how to consider other vantage points. Can we be nudged to do that? The study of the formation of community centers in the cities of the Zarafshan oasis is currently relevant in the implementation of science-based proposals in the reconstruction projects of cities. Unfortunately, the demolition of public centers that ensure the integrity of the ancient city, the very unsuccessful development of the old historic city, the complete disintegration of public centers with buildings of completely different styles built around the ensembles of public centers in past centuries significantly reduces the monumental impression of historical and architectural structures. This does not mean that the wide space between public centers should be reconstructed and undeveloped, but that it should be done with a full understanding of the complexity of the creative task, while maintaining the scale proportions and views of the newly built architectural monuments.

Streets of Edinburgh
Updated July 2024 Where and what is Edinburgh's New Town? Actually it is more than a single new town, but several developments north of the Old Town, starting in the late 18th-century, continuing into the 19th-century. Illustrated verses describe these developments, releasing built-up tension experienced by residents living in cramped confined old Edinburgh. Expansion began with James Craig's rectangular grid, a design harmonizing with the features of the land. Wide streets, a square at each end, offered comfortable, spacious homes with gardens. Popular and successful, extensions soon followed, to north, west and east, each making good use of the landscape. And preserving green spaces, lungs for the growing city. A New Town, yes, but what is New becomes Old. To remain New it must Renew, honouring its past whilst welcoming change. The renewal must honour and embrace nature, making space for birds, animals and insects, for greenery, flowers and trees. A companion volume, Volume I, The Royal Mile, describes that historic street. A further companion volume, Volume II, The Old Town, describes the Old Town, its closes and wynds and southern valley. Each is self-contained, able to be read and enjoyed on its own.
