Composite resins are direct restorative materials widely used in restorative dentistry. Despite their simplicity in clinical use, resin restorations tend to suffer pigmentation and wear over time, and it is important to investigate the effect of variables such as the restoration surface finishing protocol or the pigmentation medium on the colour stability and surface texture of the restorative material. The study presented in this book suggests a more appropriate protocol for restoring decayed and/or fractured teeth, with possible greater colour stability and visual appearance of the restoration.

English translation and revised edition of the most comprehensive and reliable biography of Claude Debussy. Fran癟ois Lesure's "critical biography" of Claude Debussy (Fayard, 2003) is widely recognized by scholars as the most comprehensive and reliable account of that composer's life and career as well as of the artistic milieu in whichhe worked. This encyclopedic volume draws extensively on Debussy's complete correspondence (at that time unpublished), a painstaking tracking of contemporary reviews and comments in the press, and an examination of other primary documents-including private diaries-that had not been available to previous biographers. The creative process of children in musicalisation activities
Music, as a form of language, is a human characteristic that is present in the lives of human beings and therefore influences the cognitive, social, emotional and affective development of many who interact with it. When children come into contact with the world of sound, they recognise different sounds and are able to reproduce and reinvent them. This is possible because human beings are capable of imagining, creating and giving new meanings to their experiences. According to Vygotsky's socio-historical perspective, assumed in this work, every human activity that generates something new is a creative act and creative imagination is a process that culturally transforms reality. Based on these assumptions, objectives were set that outlined the theoretical-methodological structure of this research. The general aim was to understand the creative process of children in early childhood education who are new to musicalisation activities, involving the recognition, identification and representation of sound elements from various sound productions. It is hoped that this work will broaden discussions in the area and promote new meanings in the practice of musicalisation for children.

How does a composer feel when his work is premiered?
This work consists of analyzing and reflecting on the reactions of classical music composers at the time of the premiere of their work, whether or not they are conditioned by the practical reality of putting on a concert. Based on the existing bibliographical analysis, results and conclusions will be presented on the different reactions and ways of seeing the moment of the premiere. Conclusions will be drawn with a view to relating the practical reality and the final result to future works and/or to the composer's own way of composing. Finally, the processes and dynamics of the phenomenon will be demonstrated through the analysis of various current cases with their own specificities.

Outcomes of Operative Labor in Pregnant Women with Severe Preeclampsia
In modern obstetric practice, one of the most significant and urgent tasks is to ensure the safety of mother and child when a pregnant woman has severe forms of preeclampsia. Preeclampsia is a condition characterized by increased blood pressure and protein in the urine after 20 weeks of pregnancy, which can progress to a severe form, threatening the health and life of both mother and fetus. A feature of severe preeclampsia is the rapid development and progression of symptoms, which requires immediate and adequate medical interventions. The problem of severe preeclampsia has not lost its relevance for many years, since the frequency of this pregnancy complication remains quite high throughout the world, and the outcomes for mother and child can be extremely unfavorable. In this regard, the issues of choosing the optimal management tactics for pregnant women with severe preeclampsia, including the decision on the method of delivery, remain the subject of numerous studies. The monograph presents a review of modern literature on this issue and the results of the author's own research.

Hidden Treasures
Gustav Mahler once said, "With song you can express so much more in the music than the words directly say. The text is actually a mere indication of the... hidden treasure within." Over fourteen years, from 1887-1901, he devoted his compositional output almost exclusively to texts and ideas drawn from a collection of German folk poetry entitled Des Knaben Wunderhorn: Alte deutsche Lieder, resulting in twenty-four songs which heavily inspired his first four symphonies. This study explores Mahler's songs based on this poetry and identifies the connections the composer found between these products of Germany's folk past and his own contemporary environment. The songs he created comment on and engage with Vienna's musical life, Freudian theory, Mahler's religious life, his family relationships, his views on women and romance, economic inequality, and wartime violence. As remnants of a folk tradition, the poems contained in Des Knaben Wunderhorn served the purpose of instructing young people on ways of conducting themselves, just as fairy tales do today. Mahler's adaptation of these stories and his updating of them to serve audiences of his own time demonstrate the universality of the lessons these poems provide, both to audiences of Mahler's day, and also to our own.

Urinary tract infections (UTIs) are the most sparing infectious diseases that can cause dangerous infections. In the structure of extragenital pathology in prematurity they are also presented in the second place after diseases of the cardiovascular system. The problem of UTIs is due to the peculiarities of clinical courses, diagnosis and treatment of urinary tract infections during pregnancy. Asymptomatic bacteriuria (IBU), which is a preclinical form of UTI and is characterized by recurrent course, low proportion of self-healing, high choice of complications for mother and fetus.
Tumor diseases of the reproductive system in women
Women's health largely determines the state's attitude to healthcare, especially to maternal and child health services. The quality of life of any woman is largely determined by the state of her reproductive system, which throughout the world requires compliance with some of the causes of female morbidity. It is known that neoplasms of the organs of the reproductive system of women relate both to the general level of their morbidity and to mortality from malignant neoplasms. Meanwhile, over the last decade, an increase in the frequency of neoplasms of the reproductive system has been noted, among more than two thirds of which benign tumors and tumor-like formations are observed. The transformation of precancerous diseases into cancer can be achieved through large-scale organization of work to promote a healthy lifestyle among women of all ages (primary prevention) and treatment given at a gradual stage as a result of regular and systematic screening.
Gaston Crunelle and Flute Playing in Twentieth-Century France
Gaston Crunelle (1898--1990) was a remarkable flutist and a beloved teacher, yet his name is hardly known today. Gaston Crunelle and Flute Playing in Twentieth-Century France restores Crunelle's place in the pantheon of flutists while revealing details of musical life in France during his lifetime. Crunelle was Professor of Flute at the Paris Conservatory from 1941 to 1969--the longest tenure of any flute professor in the Conservatory's history--and taught an entire generation of the world's leading flutists, including Michel Debost, James Galway, Christian Lard矇, Maxence Larrieu, and Jean-Pierre Rampal. He took an active interest in the annual commissions of morceaux de concours or contest pieces--including works by Dutilleux, Jolivet, Messiaen, and Sancan--which the book discusses in detail. As a performer, Crunelle was principal flutist of the Op矇ra-Comique and the Pasdeloup Orchestra and a member of the Quintette Instrumental de Paris, an ensemble of flute, harp, and string trio that left a rich legacy of about fifty commissioned works. His recordings of solo and chamber music of Bach, Mozart, and Baroque and twentieth-century French composers are among the best of the 78-rpm and early LP eras. In following Crunelle's early development through to his storied career as performer and pedagogue, Gaston Crunelle and Flute Playing in Twentieth-Century France also chronicles the evolution of musical life in France during the twentieth century, covering music during the silent film era, the interruptions of World War I, the apogee of Paris as a musical center between the wars, the German Occupation of 1940--1944, and the many changes in music and education after May 1968, including the increased participation by women. Through thorough archival research Garrison reveals previously unknown details about the relationships between Crunelle and other French flutists of his time, especially Marcel Moyse and Ren矇 LeRoy. Oral histories showcase Crunelle's pedagogy, and discographies cover Crunelle and the Quintette Instrumental de Paris. From these rich resources emerges the sympathetic figure of flutist Gaston Crunelle, unjustly forgotten until now.

Indoor Air Quality. CO2 and mould analysis
According to the World Health Organisation (WHO), indoor air pollution is the eighth health risk factor and is responsible for 2.7% of the world's illnesses. The purpose of this study is to carry out a quantitative survey of non-biological pollutants, specifically CO2, and biological agents, specifically fungi, and compare the results with the parameters established by Conama Resolution - RE 09/2003. For this assessment, the research was carried out in an administrative office located in the centre of Curitiba. The methodology applied consisted of carrying out laboratory analyses on the air conditioning filters and collecting indoor air in two different climatic seasons, then comparing the results with the legislation in force in Brazil, currently governed by Resolution RE 09/2003. It is hoped that this study will contribute to understanding the behaviour of these pollutants and also provoke critical reflection on the exposure of workers around the world in artificially refrigerated environments to the invisible risks that cause countless diseases.
The Principle of the Presumption of Innocence and Imprisonment at Second Instance
The purpose of this paper is to analyse the impact of the decision of the Federal Supreme Court, in Habeas Corpus 126.292 SP, which on 17 February 2016 set a precedent for a new understanding in criminal procedural law about the beginning of the execution of a conviction before its final and unappealable sentence. From then on, it was possible for the defendant to be sent to prison immediately after the conviction was confirmed by a panel of judges in the second degree of jurisdiction. However, the inmate retains the right to appeal to the higher courts, but remains behind bars. According to the new jurisprudence interpreted by the STF, the phase of analysing evidence and materiality is exhausted in the First Degree Court and it is admitted that the Principle of the Presumption of Innocence ceases after the conviction is confirmed in the Second Instance. To this end, the bibliographical and documentary research method is used, studying doctrinal and principiological concepts on the legal framework, highlighting the Federal Constitution and the Principle of the Presumption of Innocence.

The Gender Representations of Three Literacy Teachers
The content of this book is part of a research project that aimed to verify the gender representations of three literacy teachers, and to analyse the effects of these representations on the production of children's gendered identities. The methodological procedures used to produce the information were: interviews with three teachers who work in the early years of primary school and observation, with a field notebook, of the classes where these teachers worked. The concepts of gender, representation, identity and difference from the post-structuralist field of Cultural Studies were used in the analyses. The argument developed in this study is that the teachers' gender representations produce differences between boys and girls with implications for the production of the lessons taught, the activities carried out at school, the games played by the children and the way the teachers understand and talk about the children's reading and writing performance.
Fungal fermentation and monogastric digestion
Monogastric animals do not absorb the phosphorus present in oilseeds, which make up around 90 per cent of the raw material used in feed. This is due to the absence of the enzyme phytase, which helps break down phytic acid, where the phosphorus present in these seeds is stored. In order to provide sufficient amounts of phosphorus in the diet of monogastric animals, also known as non-ruminants, inorganic phosphorus is added to their feed, mainly in the form of bicalcium phosphate. In order to ensure that this element is properly metabolised in sufficient quantities, more phosphorus is added than these animals actually need, and the excess phosphorus that is not metabolised is eliminated in the faeces of the monogastric animals, causing what environmentalists call the eutrophication of rivers and lakes, which is the growth of algae, forming a thick green curtain over the surface of the water. This work deals with the production of the enzyme phytase, which should be added to monogastric animal feed to replace the use of inorganic phosphorus.
Overcoming seed dormancy in four forest species
The aim of this study was to test treatments to overcome dormancy in seeds of: Copa穩ba (Copaifera langsdorffii), Fava d'anta (Dimorphandra gardneriana), Janaguba (Himatanthus drasticus Mart. M.M. plumel) and Aroeira (Myracrodruon urundeuva allem瓊o). The treatments tested were: mechanical scarification with sandpaper followed by immersion; chemical scarification with sulphuric acid and a control. The substrates were: soil and soil plus manure. The treatments tested varied between the species studied. After statistical analysis, it was possible to affirm that the best results for overcoming seed dormancy were obtained.
An innovative method for monitoring the condition of the fetus in the third trimester
Currently, the problem of fetal growth restriction syndrome remains relevant, which is due to the fairly high incidence of perinatal mortality and perinatal morbidity in newborns born with this pathology. According to WHO, the number of newborns with developmental delay ranges from 31.1% in Central Asia to 6.5% in developed European countries. According to various authors, fetal growth retardation syndrome occurs in 2.4-17-25% of cases in Uzbekistan. Antenatal measures aimed at preventing, diagnosing and treating fetal growth restriction syndrome require innovative approaches. Currently, one of the methods widely used in clinical practice for diagnosing the condition of the fetus about ORP is cardiotocography. Thus, the problem of non-invasive dynamic monitoring of the fetal condition in growth restriction syndrome is an urgent problem of modern perinatology. Conducting scientific research in this direction will make it possible to find ways to adequately assess the intranatal state of the fetus and will open up opportunities for the introduction of complex and reliable methods of fetal monitoring into clinical practice.
The role of Anti-Mullerian hormone in the pathogenesis of polycystic ovary syndrome
Polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) is a multifactorial, heterogeneous pathology characterized by hyperandrogenism, chronic anovulation, the appearance and cystic changes of the ovaries, menstrual disorders and infertility. Polycystic ovary syndrome is a common endocrionopathy, it affects, according to various data, from 5 to 10% of women of childbearing age. The trajectory of a leader of the Unified Black Movement
The main purpose of this book was to recover the story of one of the founders of the Unified Black Movement (MNU) in S瓊o Paulo, Vanderlei Jos矇 Maria. By tracing his personal and activist life, we sought to understand how he thought about the situation of black people in Brazil. Firstly, we carried out a bibliographical survey to understand how the first moments of the struggle of black people in the country took place, from the abolition of slavery to the current period. We adopted Vygotsky's cultural-historical approach as our theoretical framework, which allows us to study man as a whole, seeing him as a biological and social being. To do this, we used semi-structured interviews, with the intention of allowing the interviewees to feel that they were not just objects, but that they could feel part of the research, since they were close to Vanderlei. At the end of the research, we realised that Vanderlei's story and those of many other activists are closely intertwined and that they still reflect the way the black movement thinks today.
Flooding and Socio-environmental Damage
Floods and inundations are among the main types of natural disasters, often marked by intense rainfall of both short and long duration. Floods occur in many regions of the Earth and are intensified by environmental changes and anthropogenic interventions near rivers. In 2008 and 2009, the municipality of Mossor籀-RN experienced above-normal rainfall, drastically increasing the volume of water in the river that cuts through the city, the Apodi-Mossor籀. With this in mind, the aim of this study was to carry out an assessment of the socio-environmental damage that occurred in the city of Mossor籀, especially in the community of the Ilha de Santa Luzia neighborhood, based on the Damage Assessment Report (AVANDAN) drawn up by the Municipal Civil Defense Coordination (CONDEC), as well as the perception of the people affected by the floods, since the neighborhood is located in a special riverside zone, and an area suitable for permanent preservation and restricted use, subject to flooding. The scenario is aggravated by the lack of continuous preventive actions and only assistance actions during events.
Evasion and Retention at the State University of Mato Grosso
The aim of this study was to analyse the permanence of students entering in 2011/01 on the undergraduate accounting course at UNEMAT's C獺ceres Campus, from a quantitative and qualitative research perspective. Firstly, we analysed the historical situation of the students in order to trace their academic flow. To do this, we analysed the transcripts of 41 students entering the class under study, which were made available by the Academic System. Secondly, we applied a questionnaire to analyse their opinions on permanence. The results showed that only 22% of the students were able to complete the course in the minimum time required to complete it, 22% were held back, 2% withdrew, 10% transferred and 44% dropped out. The main causes of evasion and retention are related to socio-economic, learning and pedagogical issues. We can see from the profile of the subjects that the admission policies are being implemented satisfactorily, catering for all genders, colours and social classes. The high level of evasion and retention demonstrates the need to implement student permanence policies.
The Impact of Mastectomy on Women’s Body Image and Sexuality
For most women, breast cancer and its frequent amputation encourage the development of negative consequences for their body image and, consequently, their sexuality. The breast is closely related to female identity, maturity, sexuality and motherhood, so the impact of mastectomy on women seems to be evident, and challenges emerge for perioperative nursing. With this in mind, we have produced this book, the main aim of which is to integrate and analyse data from studies carried out, contributing to a better understanding of the current situation and promoting the increasing quality of the care provided. The results of the studies show that body image impairment is directly related to the experience of sexuality, and that the more mutilating the surgery, the greater the body image impairment. In this context, nursing interventions, particularly of an informative nature, are extremely important as they facilitate adaptive processes.
Implementing a Repository for the OBA-MC learning object
The main aim of this work is to improve the usability of the OBA-MC by implementing a learning object repository. The OBA-MC is a learning object model created from the Content Map and Dependency Map tools, whose creation process is a methodology for subject planning. To develop the repository, a block was implemented in the Moodle virtual learning environment. This block contains a menu for the inherent functionalities of a repository, such as importing, exporting and listing objects.

Implementing biosafety in the workplace
The work carried out by staff/workers who provide services in laboratories is constantly exposed to various risks with different intensity and transmissibility characteristics arising from specific activities. And due to the great variability or multiplicity of activities, operational and organizational procedures existing in each sector of the laboratory environment, this weakens this class of professionals, who are often marginalized from the attentive eyes of public authorities. For these reasons, there was a need to study the physical, operational and organizational characteristics of the laboratory environment that provides services for the physical-chemical and microbiological analysis of water and effluent samples, in order to subsequently draw up a technical-scientific and educational biosafety manual in conjunction with its technical staff, so as to address the technical and operational concerns and doubts of this class of professionals.

Requiem for the Living
(Hinshaw Sacred). Commissioned by the Hickory NC Choral Society for their 35th anniversary season. Scored for mixed choir with solos for boy soprano and/or mezzo-soprano, soprano and tenor, the instrumentation is available for large orchestra or chamber ensemble. Combining both liturgical and non-liturgical texts, in some cases the traditional texts are slightly re-arranged for contextual emphasis. This powerful five movement work projects a wide range of meaningful expression from a biting essay on the vanity and pain of existence, to a plea for mercy, and a celebration of eternal light. The work stands alone but would be especially moving for all saints, Good Friday, or even Palm Sunday.
From urban infrastructure to population susceptibility
The aim of this research is to identify the impacts generated by the implementation of micro- and macro-drainage works on the Mutum canal. Given the transformations that have been taking place, from spatial relations to the valorization of the surrounding areas. This research aims to demonstrate what kind of transformations and forms of appropriation this structure has brought about. In this way, the aim is to measure the transformations that have taken place in space, the changes that have occurred at a socio-spatial level and what kind of speculation has been caused by the development. To this end, three actions will be carried out: firstly, to characterize the socio-economic profile and identify the transformations that took place in the neighbourhood during the implementation of the project. Secondly, to verify how the process of appropriation of the neighborhood took place. And finally, to observe the short- and long-term impacts caused by the appropriation of this area by the public authorities.
