The challenges of managing communication in projects
Communication management is one of the activities that most consumes the time and dedication of project managers, and is also considered an opportunity for improvement for many business organizations. The aim of this paper is therefore to present the main challenges faced by a project manager when creating and executing a communication plan for a project. In order to do this, the project management themes were studied according to the logic of the PMBOK(R) fourth edition guide and each set of best practices suggested by the guide were highlighted. The main positive and negative impacts inherent in communication were also addressed through bibliographical research. After consolidating the proposed plan, the challenges were compared according to the IPMA(R) competency logic, which revealed a total of 19 items that deserve the attention of project managers, 13 of which are technical in nature, 4 of which are contextual and 2 of which are behavioral.
The use of GeoGauge to control the execution of sidewalk layers
Currently, the most widespread method of controlling the performance of sidewalk layers is based on determining density measurements in situ using the traditional sand bottle test. However, density-based methods are considered slow, inaccurate and laborious. At the same time, the current model for sizing sidewalks is based on traffic analysis and the CBR value of the soil to be placed on the sidewalk. This model is becoming increasingly outdated because it does not take into account the fatigue effects of repeated traffic loads on the sidewalk structure. Therefore, new design methods are being used that take these effects into account, which are closely related to the soil's resilience modulus. In recent years, new methods and technologies have been implemented for the control process, including the GeoGauge, which is a portable instrument used to determine parameters related to the resilience modulus, stiffness and modulus of elasticity.

The social and environmental function of the private safeguards instrument
This study is an analysis of the Private Instrument of Guarantee for the Execution of Urban Infrastructure Works in Land Parcelling, signed between the allotment company (the contractor) and the Brazilian municipal government (the contracting party), with the aim of visualising its legal applicability. To this end, the methodology chosen was explanatory research, through an exploratory and descriptive study, using bibliographies consulted in articles and books. We observed that there is a probable omission on the part of the municipal government in supervising the execution of this contract, within the provisions of the legislation, as well as an omission on the part of the contractor in complying with the infrastructure works on the land parcel. We realise that the conduct of the parties involved can interfere with the urban development of the city and cause consequences for the socio-environmental quality of life of the population, with repercussions on health. In the course of this research, it became clear that the legal view of the concept of property has changed over time, since today the principles of social function affect it.
Civil Liability for Affective Abandonment of Children
This study aims to demonstrate the possibility of establishing civil liability for affective abandonment of children and adolescents. Through the evolution of the family, it can be seen that filiation is protected by fundamental rights laid down in the constitution. The family entity has its rights guaranteed by the constitution. As such, filiation is protected with the aim of ensuring rights that are essential for the full development of children, such as the duties to care for, raise and educate. These duties should arise spontaneously in parents. However, nowadays there is a lack of fulfilment of essential rights and duties in the relationship between parents and children, which can cause helplessness and suffering for the children, constituting moral damage that can be compensated. The purpose of such damages is to compensate for losses, bring justice to the victims and curb this type of behaviour. It is clear that paternal affective helplessness is present in today's society, as well as the damage it causes. For this reason, a legal solution is necessary in order to achieve an effective state response to repair the damage or curb this type of behaviour.
Human Rights in the Face of Protection Against Slave Labour in Brazil
This work focuses on analysing the legal observance of human rights in the protection and eradication of slave labour in Brazil, within the scope of the Regional Labour Court of the 4th Region in the state of Rio Grande do Sul, as well as the work of the Labour Prosecutor's Office. The studies show that contemporary slavery is still present in both urban and rural workplaces, involving criminal, civil and labour claims in search of dignity. However, there is still a scenario of impunity in Brazil, which directly affects the effectiveness of human rights, even though the country has punitive legislation for cases of slave labour. Although the Regional Labour Court of the 4th Region and the Public Prosecutor's Office adopt the principle of human dignity and the principle of the primacy of reality in the face of difficulties in classifying the crime of labour analogous to slavery, the situation is complex to resolve, especially given the poor distribution of income that leads many individuals to submit to slave or analogous labour.

Modern approach to the treatment of patients with CHD
Cardiovascular disease is currently a key public health problem and the leading cause of death in developed countries. Epidemiologic studies confirm that an increased risk of coronary heart disease (CHD) and other manifestations of atherosclerosis is associated with increased blood cholesterol levels, especially low-density lipoprotein (LDL). Atherosclerosis is based on abnormalities in lipid metabolism and transport, as well as inflammation of the vascular wall. Treatment focuses on lowering bad cholesterol (LDL) and increasing anti-atherogenic lipoproteins. Statins, HMG-CoA reductase inhibitors, effectively lower cholesterol levels and are considered effective drugs for the prevention of cardiovascular complications. In light of these risks, milk thistle, which contains silymarin, an antioxidant complex, is of interest as a potential liver-protective agent. Silymarin may prevent liver cell damage, regenerate damaged cells, and enhance antioxidant defense. Studies show the effectiveness of milk thistle in treating various liver diseases, including hepatitis and cirrhosis.

The main motivation behind this work is the exploration of collaborative tools based on user location. The aim is to use user location as a way of extracting relevant information from a database, making use of mobile computing. Using a PDA, users of the prototype, DIGRA (Digital Graffiti), can obtain information, collect information and carry out topographical routes using the digital terrain model, defining their current position using GPS. When designing the work, the possibility of this prototype being used in both the civilian and military models was raised. In both models, the information is presented to the user via messages and alerts, depending on the distance from certain locations. In the military model, the collection of information is also very important, making it easy to obtain the geographical coordinates of the location, namely latitude and longitude, as well as filling in relevant information using a form, which will then be made available to various users.

This Element contributes to the interdisciplinary study of mariachi, especially in the United States, by focusing on two areas that have yet to receive substantive academic attention: philanthropy and museum studies. In 2011, UNESCO included mariachi music on its list of expressions of intangible cultural heritage. While it is undoubtedly true that mariachi is in many ways intangible, this downplays expressions of its rich material culture and the work of scholars to research mariachi history beyond an emphasis on musical performance. The first section considers mariachi collecting and philanthropy in the US, especially the efforts of Edward E. Marsh and Chris Strachwitz. The second section examines the first major mariachi history museum/exhibit in the US, managed by the Mariachi Scholarship Foundation and housed at Southwestern College in California. Finally, some open areas for research are proposed and appendices concerning mariachi studies in the US are provided.
Psychologists in public security
This book brings together the results of research aimed at investigating the inclusion of psychology in the field of public security, by analysing the practices actually carried out by psychologists. The Civil Police of the state of Rio de Janeiro was chosen as the institution to be studied, with the aim of studying the practices carried out by psychologists as members of the police force, through interviews. Working from the epistemological-methodological perspective of cartography as a process of investigation in the social sciences, results were achieved at the institutional level and at the scientific level, both characterised by an almost total lack of articulation between the sciences of psychology and law. The final discussion of the results was carried out using concepts from socio-anthropology (LATOUR, 2013) and the theoretical framework of schizoanalysis (DELEUZE & GUATTARI, 1995/2000). The discussion of the results points towards future research and possible scientific-professional interconnections. It is recommended reading for all those who study or experience the phenomena related to public security in Rio de Janeiro.

Levels of health-related physical fitness
Paper presented to the Physical Education Seminar of the 8th period of the Physical Education degree course at the Federal Institute of Paran獺 - IFPR - Palmas Campus. The content will cover aspects that underpin Physical Education as an out-of-school activity, as well as its role in the school environment, bearing in mind that the school and Physical Education classes are considered privileged places for the search for a better quality of life. The results of the study will also be clarified and the theories of numerous authors who defend the importance of achieving good levels of health-related physical fitness will be presented. In this way, aspects relating to the components of physical fitness will be pointed out, namely aerobic endurance, muscular strength, muscular endurance, joint flexibility and body composition. We hope that this work will contribute to future research on the subject. We also believe that this is a relevant subject, given that authors have stated the need for more research in this area, both in regular schools with a single shift and in after-school programs.
The Velvet Underground
Though The Velvet Underground were critically and commercially unsuccessful in their time, in ensuing decades they have become a constant touchstone in art rock, punk, post-punk, indie, avant pop and alternative rock. In the 1970s and 80s Lou Reed, John Cale and Nico produced a number of works that traveled a path between art and pop. In 1993 the original band members of Reed, Cale, Morrison and Tucker briefly reunited for live appearances, and afterwards Reed, Cale and briefly Tucker, continued to produce music that travelled the idiosyncratic path begun in New York in the mid-1960s. The influence of the band and band members, mediated and promoted through famous fans such as David Bowie and Brian Eno, seems only to have expanded since the late 1960s. In 1996 the Velvet Underground were in inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, demonstrating how far the band had traveled in 30 years from an avant-garde cult to the mainstream recognition of their key contributions to popular music. Sizing a detention basin and a proposal for reuse
Flooding is something that causes a lot of damage in a city. New measures are being taken to prevent this from happening. The creation of a detention basin, popularly known as a "piscin瓊o", is a viable solution, as it directs all the water from the rainwater network on a plot of land into a waiting basin, while it rains and waits for the water level in the tributary to drop. The device releases the water at a certain rate. The zoning laws of each city must be respected when constructing this basin. The aim of this work is to design a "pool" for a housing development in the city of S瓊o Jos矇 dos Campos (SP). In addition to proposals for its maintenance and the reuse of the water retained in the reservoir.
Sporotrichosis
Sporotrichosis is a subacute or chronic mycotic infection of the skin and subcutaneous tissues characterized by nodular-ulcerated lesions caused by species of the genus Sporothrix. Inoculation of S schenckii into the body occurs accidentally through wounds caused by fomites contaminated by the fungus, such as thorns and sharp objects, but another very common form of infection is zoonotic transmission, mainly through scratching and biting urban cats. Recently, there has been an increase in cases of sporotrichosis in Brazil, so the information from this study on its clinical, epidemiological, laboratory and therapeutic aspects is extremely important for health professionals to establish better care for individuals affected by the disease.

Determination of soil compressibility parameters
Soil is extremely important to the construction industry, because as well as being a natural building material, it is also the support for any civil work. Therefore, in order to develop civil projects that guarantee safety, stability and economy, it is necessary to know the mechanical characteristics of the soils that will support the buildings. Among the mechanical properties of soils, compressibility is one of the most important, as it estimates the behavior of soils when subjected to stresses. In this context, the aim of this study was to determine and analyze the compressibility parameters of the Argissolo and Latossolo present in the city of Mossor籀-RN, both from the Barreiras Formation. Based on the results obtained, it was concluded that the Latosol has the best characteristics to be used as a support material for civil works in the city of Mossor籀-RN.

The transportation of dangerous goods by road accounts for most of the chemical accidents that occur in S瓊o Paulo and Rio de Janeiro, and perhaps in Brazil. Accidents of this kind can have serious consequences for the population, the environment and society in general. However, there is no national database capable of mapping and characterizing the transport of dangerous goods in Brazil, which makes it difficult to implement effective preventive actions. Several bodies and entities are responsible for regulating the transportation of dangerous goods in the country, and the legislation is extensive but sometimes divergent between the states and the federal government. There needs to be a consensus between government agencies and entities to create clear and objective guidelines and adopt measures that effectively reduce accidents in the transportation of dangerous goods by road in Brazil.

Diarrhoeal Diseases
This was the conclusion of the specialisation course in Cell Biology, of which I was a student in the first cohort, under the guidance of Professor Andr矇 Ren礙 Barboni, in which this work aimed to describe the evolution of bacterial gastroenteritis in Brazil based on the data available on the DATASUS website, trying to estimate the underreporting of gastroenteritis in the various Brazilian regions, and characterising the importance of a computerised and epidemiologically sustained surveillance system for public health. However, it was not possible, based solely on DATASUS data, to establish the real prevalence of gastroenteritis in the various Brazilian regions and states, due to the lack of importance that is still given to diarrhoeal diseases, which is evident in the under-reporting and even lack of recording of diarrhoeal events. Despite these difficulties, the profile of mortality from gastroenteritis is not homogeneous, since it is related to basic sanitation conditions, hygiene habits, low resistance to infections and access to health services.
The Subjects’ Conceptions in the Context of the Maths Degree
The process of personal development implies valuing critical-reflective work on the practices carried out and the experiences shared. And it is from this perspective that this research is taking place, which could lead to better reflections on internships and proposals for improvements. For this reason, the reflections of this research aim to report on the conception of students and school management about the presence of trainees in the maths subject and what relevance these conceptions had for the trainees during the course of their internship. It is also hoped that it will contribute to reflecting on the relationship between the initial training of maths teachers, their inclusion in the school community and the expectations of this community.

The implementation of music teaching in the municipal network of Serop矇dica/RJ
This book deals with the implementation of music teaching in the municipal network of Serop矇dica/RJ. The main objectives were to uncover the main challenges and the prospects for continuity; to learn about the historical and legislative aspects of the municipality, as well as the pedagogical aspects of the schools; and to understand music teaching in the context of formal education in the municipal schools of Serop矇dica. Challenges and possibilities were mapped out for the continued implementation of the proposal in the context of ongoing teacher training. The methodology adopted the assumptions of the qualitative approach with the insertion of quantitative data. The following procedures were used: document collection, face-to-face meetings, observations, questionnaires, creation of categories based on the answers to the research instruments, construction of graphs and tables, data analysis and reflections on these. Finally, the book presents a synthesis of the results found and conclusions proposing how best to contribute to music education.

Property transgression in Arcoverde from a Durkheimian perspective
This work focuses on collecting data on crimes against property, more specifically thefts and robberies committed in the main neighbourhoods of the city of Arcoverde/PE. The general objective is to analyse the incidence of the above-mentioned types of crime in the city of Arcoverde, by producing monthly tables, based on the theories developed by ?mile Durkheim and drawing on the experience of an internship at the 156th Civil Police Station, Arcoverde/PE District, and at the Citizenship Observatory. The specific objectives are to conceptualise and discuss the definitions of crime against property, relate Durkheim's theories and questions about crime and social vulnerability to the incidence of theft and robbery and report on the experience, proposing the expansion of the Citizenship Observatory. The concepts of mechanical and organic solidarity, anomie, social fact and collective consciousness were used, as well as texts on violence, crime and social vulnerability. Finally, there is a proposal for a public policy, based on the internship experience report.
Hospital Costs
The Brazilian state has thousands of hospital institutions of various sizes and corporate arrangements. In many cities, only one of these units is responsible for providing uninterrupted health care. According to the Federal Constitution, health is a fundamental right. Considering the social relevance that these organizations represent, and given that they are all companies. The need arises for a management analysis. The purpose of accounting science is to measure a company's financial and economic capacity and it uses a huge range of tools capable of clearly demonstrating the direction of a business. One of these tools is cost accounting. It is extremely important and widely used to manage expenses. Due to their complexity, hospitals are expensive and so this study aims to contribute to the formulation of a cost methodology for this sector based on understanding and managing the resources consumed by these institutions.

Education for the SUS
The creation of the SUS has led to a discussion of the profile of nursing professionals and their ability to be included in the context of public health, with their actions based above all on the principles of comprehensiveness and equity. This study aims to describe the teaching-learning process in undergraduate nursing programmes with a view to acting with equity within the SUS. This is an exploratory, descriptive, qualitative study based on field research. Together, students, teachers and the university must advance in the debate and move towards transformations that result in the practice of promoting the equity necessary to realise the right to health.
Pathologies in Construction Works
Construction in Brazil has been growing in such a way that quantity is often more important than quality. Most of the buildings being constructed today are starting to show pathologies before the minimum expected period, reducing the performance and useful life of the structure. Professionals specialising in pathologies have the task of analysing pathological manifestations by gathering the necessary information for a diagnosis, in which they hypothesise the possible causes of a pathology. This work aims to compare pathologies found in newly delivered buildings with structures that have been in use for years by analysing the causes and effects of pathological manifestations found in the structure.
Synthetic banana seeds
Banana growing is an activity of great social and economic importance in Brazil, which ranks fifth in world production. The production of synthetic seeds has become promising for micropropagation and in vitro conservation. The aim of this work was to analyse the conversion and growth of banana 'Prata-an瓊' clone Gorutuba micro-sprouts from synthetic seeds in MS culture medium and vermiculite, testing different substrates and concentrations of BAP (6-benzylaminopurine) associated with ANA (naphthalene acetic acid) in the constitution of its capsule. The micro-sprouts were immersed in a sodium alginate matrix (3%) and dripped into a CaCl2. 2H2O solution (100 mM) for complexation and then into a KNO3 solution (100 mM) for decomplexation. The experimental design was entirely randomised in a 2 x 5 factorial scheme (substrate x BAP concentrations), containing different substrates (MS culture medium and vermiculite) and different concentrations of BAP (2.22; 4.44; 6.66; 8.88 and 13.32 μmol L-1) associated with ANA (naphthalene acetic acid) 0.54 μmol L-1, totalling 10 treatments, with 4 replicates, each replicate containing 5 seeds.
Dark tourism in Angola
Dark tourism consists of visiting places linked to death and suffering, such as battlefields, castles, natural disasters and other similar attractions. In this sense, we believe that this form of tourism can be promoted as a "tourist product" in Angola and Benguela province, taking into account the prospect of sustainable tourism, local development and knowledge of recent history and the vicissitudes experienced by the population; a legacy to be passed on to current and future generations. The proposal comes as an alternative to sustainable tourism, open to new business initiatives, aimed at generating jobs and income as an instrument to combat hunger and poverty in local communities that were once the theater of war operations; places that, in our view, are susceptible to being used as a unique tourist product and attracting national tourists and those from other countries.
