”Hypertension among street vendors in Rio de Janeiro”
Hypertension causes varying degrees of disability and a reduction in life expectancy. The contribution of occupation as a risk factor in hypertension has been understood to be associated with "psychological factors" or "psychosocial factors" that generate stress. Official statistics do not include informal work, which is increasingly common in Brazil's major capitals. A prevalence study was carried out among street vendors in two areas of the city of Rio de Janeiro: Largo da Carioca and Largo de Machado. The aim of the study was to describe the main social variables of these professionals, measure the blood pressure of these workers and compare the social and physical data of the street vendors and peddlers in the two regions studied. 142 professionals were interviewed. The street vendors had higher blood pressure levels than the street vendors, but this difference was not statistically significant. The difference in blood pressure levels between the two areas was significant p=01639. The odds ratio was 2.275482094.

Between two worlds and Xarop
In the present title, the hybridization of the joropo llanero and flamenco is perceived from the flute, from the perspective of two works that fuse both rhythms. It also details the background of the joropo llanero and the flamenco and its descent to the fandango as a generator axis of these sonorities in the instrument. As a result of this research, the musical resources in common between the joropo llanero and flamenco used in the transverse flute as an element of intersection in works that contain both rhythms are evidenced. On the other hand, there are contributions related to the musical elements found from the flautist point of view in the works "Entre dos mundos" by composer Omar Acosta and "Xarop" by composer Ignacio Ramos.
The Gentleman Dancing-Master
The Gentleman Dancing-Master: Mr Isaac and the English Royal Court from Charles II to Queen Anne is a study of the life of the most significant dancing-master at the late-Stuart court in London. It discusses his use of dance music and brings together, for the first time, reprints of the notations of all his twenty-three surviving dances created for performance at court in the presence of the monarch, including several created to celebrate the birthdays of Queen Anne or named after important courtiers or political events. This study highlights the significance of dance as a central part of court culture, and also the wider context of the London book trade within which Isaac's notators turned his dances into a publishable form ultimately taken over by John Walsh's music publishing firm. Using extensive archival and printed sources from his day, the book follows Isaac's career as a dancer, teacher, and choreographer of sophisticated duets in the fashionable French style, some of which were also performed in the theatre. Isaac, however, was no slavish follower of French fashion, and by careful consideration of the extant dances from the point of view of a dancer, this study also seeks to throw light on Isaac's often individualistic approach to choreography.

Collective Teaching in the Percussion Course at the CMPB in Curitiba
This work deals with the collective teaching of musical instruments within the percussion course at the Conservatory of Popular Brazilian Music in Curitiba, describing, in a chronological manner, the pedagogical direction and methodologies used in the musical initiation of percussion instruments through collective teaching. Thus, this research traces the paths of the percussion course and the pedagogical guidelines of the institution from its creation in 1992 to the present day, identifying the bibliography used within the course and proposing an approach to teaching Brazilian popular percussion instruments.
Evapotranspiration Ponds
Basic sanitation in the world is still extremely poor, causing serious problems for public health and claiming the lives of millions of children every year. The construction of Evapotranspiration Tanks (TEvap), a decentralised environmental technology that is easy to apply and low cost, provides important local ecosystem services. This study looks at the implementation of 80 TEvap units in the Batoque Extractive Reserve in terms of environmental services and ecological aspects, related to the actions of the "Recovery of the Batoque Lagoon" project. 74 of the 80 planned units were implemented, with an approximate reduction of 88.8 tonnes of waste from the treatment of 11,444.4 kl of sewage and carbon sequestration of approximately 0.05 tC/ha.year-繒 during the period 03/2011 to 12/2012. This generated savings of R$50,620.18 for the public purse. The implementation of the TEvap demonstrated considerable environmental services for the residents of the Batoque Extractive Reserve, especially in the treatment of residential sewage and the reduction of local rubbish.
An interdisciplinary view of the penal system
Support for women who are victims of violence is failing under the current system. Violence is protected by the criminal justice system from a perspective that is far removed from the reality of those it aims to protect, and it is unable to protect the free exercise of sexuality. Statistical data demonstrates the ineffectiveness of the criminal justice system when used to protect women. The discourse uses demagoguery, rooting itself in elements such as the principles of equality, legality and humanity, in order to achieve objectives that are not explicitly stated. Victimisation occurs with gender violence, because formally, men will always be the aggressors and women the victims. Triggering the criminal justice system in order to protect women often means victimising them twice over, given the ineffectiveness of the protection system and the implicit criminalisation of the protective discourse. The law cannot protect victims on its own, and a set of interconnected measures is needed, such as psychological care and social attention, so that women are not "victims" of the rules that aim to protect them.
Self-medication
Around 80 million Brazilians self-medicate, which is a natural and worrying practice among the population, due to the risks to their health. The survey was carried out among 82 professors from the Institute of Health Sciences, the Institute of Agrarian Sciences and the Institute of Natural, Human and Social Sciences at the Federal University of Mato Grosso. Self-medication is practiced among female teachers (51%) and graduates without any kind of specialization (42.6%). The main class of medication used in this practice was analgesics-antipyretics (95%) and the pathology or symptom that motivated self-medication was headache (80.5%). These drugs were self-indicated in 60% and motivated by knowledge acquired throughout life (33%). Of the main outcomes of self-medication, 78% achieved remission of the symptom that led to the practice. Therefore, since the teaching community is an opinion-forming community, one way of reducing the rates of self-medication would be to make them aware of the dangers of self-medication, so that this knowledge is replicated.

Deaf young people and inclusive music education
This study was carried out during my undergraduate degree in music education with the intention of understanding the relationship between deaf young people and their interaction with music. It is a qualitative investigation, with data collected through a questionnaire and interviews with young people. It is hoped that the results will help music educators plan and make the necessary adaptations to inclusive music classes.

The Making of European Music in the Long Eighteenth Century
Musical representations of Europe in myth and allegory are well known, but when and under what circumstances did the words "European" and "music" become linked together? What did the resulting term mean in music before 1800 and how did it evolve into the label "Western music," which features so prominently in pedagogical and scholarly discourses? In The Making of European Music in the Long Eighteenth Century, author D. R. M. Irving traces the emergence of such large-scale categories in Western European thought. Beginning in the 1670s, Jesuit missionaries in China began to refer to "European music," and for the next hundred years the term appeared almost exclusively in comparison with musics from other parts of the world. It entered common use from the 1770s, and in the 1830s became synonymous with a new concept of "Western music." Western European writers also associated these terms with notions of "progress" and "perfection." Meanwhile, changing ideas about "modern" Europe's cultural relationship with classical antiquity, together with theories that systematically and condescendingly racialized people from other continents, influenced the ways that these scholars imagined and interpreted musical pasts around the globe. Irving weaves his analyses throughout the book's historical examinations, suggesting that "European music" originates from self-fashioning in contexts of intercultural comparison outside the continent, rather than from the resolution of national aesthetic differences within it. He shows that "Western music" as understood today arose in line with the growth of Orientalism and increasing awareness of musics of "the East." All such reductive terms often imply homogeneity and essentialism, and Irving asks what a reassessment of their beginnings might mean for music history. Taken as a whole, the book shows how a renewed critique of primary sources can help dismantle historiographical constructs that arose within narratives of musical pasts involving Europe.
The place and profile of black people in textbooks
This work is the result of an analysis of the textbooks used in our Portuguese and History primary and secondary school classrooms, with the aim of discovering the profile and place reserved for black people in their content. There is a great lack of information about Afro-descendant culture in Brazil and its contributions to shaping the identity of the Brazilian people. The injustice of not publicising the legacy brought by native Africans, who were forcibly inserted into a strange and distant land and had to adapt and establish their roots on Brazilian soil, is visible. The culture they brought was incorporated into customs, such as dance, cuisine, music, religion, the language itself and a host of other elements. All of this constitutes the cultural wealth that Afro-descendants brought with them and, in a way, imposed on our culture, contributing in a big way to the formation of our identity.

The saxophone is a globally popular instrument, often closely associated with renowned male players such as Charlie Parker, John Coltrane, or more recently, Kenny G. Less well known, however, is the historical presence of female saxophonists in the nineteenth century, shortly after the instrument's invention. The development of the Uzbek stemmer
The review of literature review shows that stemming algorithm has not been proposed yet for extracting Uzbek root words from the Uzbek corpus, which is applicable to the above-mentioned functions. Therefore, the objective of the current research is to develop a stemming algorithm for the Uzbek language. The Uzbek stemming algorithm uses both inflectional and derivational morphemes. The output is in the form of meaningful root words without affixes. Furthermore, the accuracy and strength of the proposed algorithm will be evaluated.
The Development of Gospel Music In Nigeria
The Cherubim and Seraphim Movement (Ayo Ni O) Choir came into limelight as a gospel music choir in late 1970s and consistently rose to stardom in Nigeria. It was also revealed that the Choir contributed to the growth of and development of gospel music in Nigeria through its songs which were presented in electic style but using indigenous compositional performance techniques. In addition, the choir introduced the consistent of use of Hawaii guitar playing, interludes by winds instruments, elaborate preludes, high falsetto lead vocal singing with the back-up chorus singing in a combination of bravura, alla patetico and spiritoso. It was further revealed that the music of the choir served as a source of spiritual inspiration and moral education for its fans both Christians and non-Christian alike. The study concluded that the Cherubim and Seraphim Movement (Ayo Ni O) Choir had created a musical tradition characterized by new musical content, compositional and performance techniques germane to the contemporary gospel music scene in Nigeria.

In the study, the most urgent pedagogical and methodical problems in the tune were found specific solutions: - the importance of the concept of pedagogical philosophy in the development of the science of pedagogy and the essence of the philosophical basis on which the national pedagogic science is based were studied;- the leading characters of the national pedagogy and their socio-historical sources were classified;- it was justified that literary education is a separate part of the general pedagogical process and that the renewal of literature education should begin with taking into account the renewal of thinking;- the scientific-theoretical basis for the organization of literary education was specially researched. It was proved that the philosophy of the word should be the basis of the literary education of the school based on the ancient history of Turkestan education and advanced modern pedagogical views.

As market reforms and migration transformed Albania in the early 1990s, Ardit Gjebrea began mixing traditional folk music with world music and Italian pop. The resulting album, Projekt Jon (1997), provided a new model for song-Western and cosmopolitan, yet firmly rooted in the fertile soil of the nation-against a backdrop of deepening political uncertainty about the very future of Albania. The Ionian Project announced itself with the frenetic beating of the daull禱 and the traditional cries of Albania's highland shepherd. This sprawling collaboration between singer-songwriter Ardit Gjebrea, folk singer Hysni Zela, producer Paul Mazzolini, and a team of crack studio musicians in Italy, had an outsized ambition: to transcend the small postsocialist nation-state's borders, imaginatively crafting through sound a new home in Europe for its citizens. But as Gjebrea prepared to launch Projekt Jon, violence prompted by the collapse of widespread pyramid schemes threatened to tear Albania apart. And for the intellectuals concerned about growing cracks in the symbolic foundations of the Albanian nation-state, the album came to serve as a referendum on the nature of postsocialist citizenship.

Challenges of applying Safety Engineering in Civil Construction
The Brazilian construction industry has undergone countless transformations, making the sector one of the most important in the country, both for the economy and for labour. In proportion to the increase in the labour force, the number of accidents has grown significantly. The aim of this study was therefore to identify and prevent risks to the health and safety of workers on the construction site of the Social Service for Industry (SESI) in Mar穩lia, S瓊o Paulo, Brazil. To this end, a bibliographical review was carried out based on the principles and concepts of risks, the Regulatory Standard governing Civil Construction, NR-18. An analysis methodology was then set up in order to classify the risks found in each work sector. So a risk analysis was carried out, which made it possible to establish the risks found in each sector of the construction process, thus being able to assess and propose accident improvements in each sector assessed. The analysis proposed a study that serves as the basis for a review of the current practice and policy of worker health care, opening up space for new studies and discussions.

Contributions of the PIBID
When I started my degree course in pedagogy, I realised that there were some gaps, such as a greater relationship between theory and practice, given that few subjects in the degree course make this connection. With the aim of experiencing the context of the school and making a link with academic theories, in 2014 I took part in the selection process for the Institutional Teaching Initiation Scholarship Programme (PIBID), believing that it would contribute to broadening my knowledge. During my participation in the programme, some questions arose, such as: How have the actions of PIBID in the school environment contributed to the continuing training and re-signification of the knowledge of the supervising teachers? The analyses showed that the Early Years Subproject promoted collaborative work, since the actions developed in its context were carried out jointly with all the participants. The activities developed changed pedagogical actions, re-signifying the supervisors' teaching knowledge.
