Skully the Red
Skully the Red is a comical look at surviving the lockdown of the 2020 pandemic. After draining the vodka from a bottle of Crystal Head Vodka, the photographer Andr矇 Michel tells the story of the crystal skull bottle which he refilled with red dye and water and baptized Skully the Red. He does a photo shoot of Skully the Red in his backyard, at his cottage on the lake, on his motorcycle and in the snow-covered landscape of Canada. After posting Skully the Red pictures on Instagram and Facebook, Andr矇 Michel created a photo book - narrated by the voice of the fictional character of Skully the Red. Suitable for kids 8 years and older as well as kids of all ages.

William R. Stanek and his wife have been called "living legends" and "national treasures" for their decades of creative works in the arts and publishing. In the arts, he is celebrated for his unique perspectives, natural colors and stunning use of natural light. In the literary world, he is renowned for his body of work which includes nearly 100 children's picture books painted with stunningly beautiful watercolors.It's been a long road to celebrated author and artist for William. At an early age, he lost a step-father to a gas water heater explosion, his sister Bridget to the same some months later. Thereafter, raised by a single mother, he and his siblings lived very much in poverty and often went hungry. From the age of 10, he worked odd jobs to help keep the family fed.At 17, in his senior year of high school, his mother re-married and moved away. William found himself homeless and living in his car, but still managed to finish high school. After graduation, he joined the US Air Force. Military service brought William to fields of combat and special operations duties in foreign lands around the world. His distinguished military service earned him many medals, including the Distinguished Flying Cross. But William says he would give all the medals away to be able to close his eyes and not see any of it.William's work has always been an outlet, if not for his own healing, but to help heal others. Through his stories. Through his paintings. Through his photography. For the past thirty years, his wife has been there with him, assisting, which is why William says this is as much her book as it is his.

"Sojourner to Stoner: The Photographs "is my impression of Southeast Asia in the 1970s. I spent over a year as an officer in the U.S. Army in South Korea and close to two years traveling throughout Asia, first as a backpacker and later as a Hippie (yippee-ki-yay). "The Photographs" are a companion piece to my written book, called with great imagination: "Sojourner to Stoner: The Journal" I have documented a time, the 1970s, before the all-pervading Western culture (sex, drugs, and rock and roll) and The Economic Miracle changed Asia irrevocably. The book portrays the lives of ordinary people and their unique cultures, religions and traditional ways of life. The Asia of Conrad and Maughan is gone, and the war-torn Asia of Vietnam will also pass. This is my time-capsule vision of Asia, a bright shining light from a galaxy far far away that has already disappeared.
