Although this is a simplification, it includes key factors related to the change of climate like modifications in temperature, humidity, precipitation, sea level and extreme weather events like storms.

The Operations of Chinese Infrastructure Multinationals in Africa

This book examines the history, politics, and economics of alternative energy. Since the energy crisis of the 1970s, governments around the world have subsidized and otherwise incentivized alternative forms of energy to reduce dependence on fossil fuels. This search has taken on added urgency in the twenty-first century, as the specter of climate change has engendered ambitious state-level renewable portfolio standards, enhanced federal incentives, and inspired "100% renewable" electrical generation targets in such states as Vermont and Hawaii. To save the planet from destruction, wind, solar, and other renewable energy alternatives must replace fossil fuels. But how did we get here and what is the cost? After an in-depth study of the Carter administration's synthetic fuels program, the focus shifts to the two most prominent, perhaps most promising, and certainly most promoted--and government subsidized--"green" and "renewable" energies today: wind and solar. Because wind has made the most headway and drawn the most controversy, it receives the most attention. Although the primary focus is on the American experience with renewable energy, the policies and politics of renewables in Scotland, Wales, Denmark, Spain, and other European nations are also discussed. B. hinsichtlich des Vollgeldes und der Bestrebungen, hier eine Umgestaltung des Geldsystems zu erreichen), aber auch hinsichtlich des Kryptogeldes, das in Zukunft eine gr繹?ere Bedeutung haben k繹nnte. Nous avons 矇tudi矇 les effets de la modernisation du march矇 de Ngoulemakong sur les commer癟ants, les m矇nages, les transporteurs et les producteurs. Sp矇cifiquement, il a 矇t矇 question d'estimer les effets sociaux et environnementaux li矇s ? la modernisation du march矇 de Ngoulemakong d'une part; et d'autre part d'estimer les effets 矇conomiques li矇s ? la modernisation du march矇 de Ngoulemakong. Cette 矇tude concerne le march矇 de Ngoulemakong durant la p矇riode d'avant modernisation de 2005 ? 2008 et d'apr癡s modernisation de 2009 ? 2015. La m矇thode utilis矇e pour parvenir aux r矇sultats, repose sur la d矇marche hypoth矇tico-d矇ductive. Pour ce faire, nos instruments de collectes des donn矇es ont 矇t矇 le questionnaire et la recherche documentaire. Determinanten der Bildung von Finanzmarktblasen. Herdenverhalten als Ausl繹ser und die LATW-Debatte

Es wird darauf eingegangen, wie die Dotcom-Blase einen stilisierten FMB Bildungsprozess reflektiert und inwieweit verschiedene Ereignisse die Entwicklung erkl瓣ren k繹nnen. In Kapitel 3 wird danach ein ?berblick 羹ber den derzeitigen Kenntnisstand der Erforschung von Herdenverhalten gegeben. Herdenverhalten ist ein Ph瓣nomen, das aufgrund seiner Mehrdimensionalit瓣t aus verschiedenen Blickwinkeln betrachtet werden muss. Diese Arbeit setzt sich das Ziel, dieser Aufgabe nachzukommen. Kapitel 4 verkn羹pft die vorangegangenen Kapitel schlie?lich sinnvoll, um die Ausgangsfrage zu beantworten. Diese Arbeit versucht mit Hilfe des Herdenverhaltens eine nachvollziehbare Erkl瓣rung f羹r die Bildung und Entwicklung der Dotcom-Blase zu geben. Dabei wird der Ursprung des Herdenverhaltens im Umfeld der Dotcom-Blase untersucht und darauf eingegangen, wie seine Auswirkungen das Entscheidungsverhalten der Investoren beeinflussten. Insbesondere die "Venture Capital" Branche wird als Katalysator des Herdenverhaltens identifiziert und im weiteren Verlauf untersucht. Diese Arbeit konzentriert sich auf den Einfluss des Herdenverhaltens in der Entstehungsphase der Dotcom-Blase. Nicht thematisiert wird dementsprechend der Einfluss des Herdenverhaltens auf das Platzen der Dotcom-Blase. Im Anschluss werden die Erkenntnisse aus der Untersuchung der Dotcom-Blase genutzt, um die LATW-Politik als pr瓣ventive Ma?nahme zur Verhinderung von FMB zu analysieren. Abschlie?end wird thematisiert, weshalb LATW (noch) nicht in der Praxisangewendet wird.
Reviving the Love for Economic Justice
In Reviving the Love for Economic Justice, Roshnee Ossewaarde-Lowtoo argues that the options for organizing economies are not limited to individualistic capitalism and collectivistic communism because the democratic commitment to human dignity requires the transcendence of the materialistic premises of both politico-economic arrangements. She therefore shifts the conversation to the more fundamental level of conflicting values and ideals, showing that the cultural and political failure to bring about humane economies can largely be blamed on the cultural preference for utility and wealth over justice and civic friendship. Ossewaarde-Lowtoo explores ways in which such cultural prejudice could be overcome so that the notion that humans are intrinsically related to each other and hence responsible for each other could gain ground. She argues that it is legitimate and realistic to hold out hope that both economies and markets can be subordinated to the higher goals of civic friendship and justice because human experience reveals love as the telos of human existence.

Mit dem Ausbruch der sogenannten Peso-Krise 1994/95 wurde klar, dass es trotz einer Reihe positiver makro繹konomischer Indikatoren andere krisenverursachende Faktoren geben musste. Aber welches waren diese Faktoren? Ist die Krise durch Umsetzungsfehler einer bestimmten Staatspolitik erkl瓣rbar? Gab es andere politische Faktoren, die destabilisierend auf die Wirtschaft gewirkt haben? Oder war es schlicht und ergreifend Pech? Um eine genaue Einsch瓣tzung 羹ber die Ursachen der Peso-Krise zu geben, ist es notwendig, sich nicht nur mit der Zahlungsunf瓣higkeit Mexikos 1982 und der damit verbundenen Schuldenkrise auseinanderzusetzen, sondern eine Analyse der mexikanischen Wirtschaft vor 1982 vorzunehmen. Eine entscheidende Rolle spielte hierbei die Hinwendung der mexikanischen Wirtschaftspolitik zu einer neoliberalen Ordnung. Diese ist gekennzeichnet durch eine systematische Beg羹nstigung der Kapitalseite durch Ma?nahmen der Deregulierung, Liberalisierung, Individualisierung, Flexibilisierung, Privatisierung etc., welche auch die Ma?nahmen des Washington Consensus sind. Die vorliegende Arbeit betrachtet daher die mexikanische Wirtschaft vom Anfang der siebziger Jahre bis einschlie?lich der Krise von 1994/95. Es wird die Hypothese vertreten, dass die Peso-Krise ein mehr oder minder unvermeidliches Resultat des neoliberalen Reformprozesses war.

Pahlavi Iran and the Politics of Occidentalism
Zhand Shakibi presents a new interpretation of the political and social dynamics of the last decade of the Shah's rule that challenges the binary view of pro-West Shah and anti-West Ayatollah by drawing attention to the Pahlavi state's reaction to the intellectual and societal backlash against cultural and moral Occidentalism in its last decade. Revising the dominant historiography of the Pahlavi ideological and discursive approach to the West, this book draws attention to the changes in the attitude of the Shah, the Empress and state intellectuals towards the position and imagery of the West in state conceptions of the authenticity of Iranian national culture and identity. Drawing on a wide-range of primary sources, Shakibi presents the multi-faceted relationship of the Pahlavi state to the West and the institutions that were created to manage this such as the Rastakhiz Party. This study argues that the Pahlavi state, having recognized this backlash, attempted to limit the threat to its legitimacy by reformulating intellectual discourses of anti-West Occidentalism and incorporating them into the ideology of the Rastakhiz Party. In so doing it played a critical role in exacerbating societal sensitivities about the spread of Western influences.
