New Method Development and Validation of Bempedoic Acid
A Visible Spectrophotometric method has been developed and validated for the quantitative measurement of Bempedoic acid in bulk and tablet dosage forms. The process is based on the production of a colored complex in the presence of Ferric chloride between Bempedoic acid and MBTH (3-methyl-2-benzothiazolinone Hydrazone). At 663 nm, the colored complex was spectrophotometrically measured. The correlation coefficient (r2) of 0.999 revealed that the approach is linear in the concentration range of 10-60 繕g/mL. It was discovered that the limits of detection (LOD) and quantitation (LOQ) were 2.169 繕g/mL and 6.572 繕g/mL, respectively. For both intra-day and inter-day precision studies, the approach was proven to be precise with a percent relative standard deviation (%RSD) less than 2.0%. Recovery experiments were used to assess the method's accuracy, and it was discovered that the average percentage of recovery fell between 98.0 and 102.0%. The results of the suggested approach were compared to those of the reference method for the accurate determination of Bempedoic acid in tablet dosage forms.
Clinical Management of Chronic Pain
Chronic pain is a complex phenomenon with a huge burden in terms of personal and socioeconomic costs. Disability, emotional imbalance, and social isolation are frequently associated with chronic pain, leading to a vicious circle that compromises quality of life in affected patients. The condition's diagnosis and treatment is often challenging due to difficulties in recognizing specific pathogenetic mechanisms; the presence of overlapping phenomena; the coexistence of psychological distress, anxiety and catastrophizing; the impact of systemic therapy; the difficulties related to follow up; and the roles of systemic and invasive therapies. This Special Issue will explore all these aspects: the pathophysiologies of complex pain syndromes are described, providing diagnostic frameworks for specific pain patterns, (such as migraine, fibromyalgia or persistent spinal pain) with both questionnaires and supporting exams. In addition, recent evidence on using therapeutic strategies for treatment and follow up for chronic complex pain conditions such as osteoarthritis and persistent spinal pain are proposed. Moreover, novel approaches to evaluate pain in a multidimensional way or with supporting technology are suggested to create an individualized and integrated precision medicine model of pain management.

Pharmaceuticals are mainly sourced by companies investing in costly R&D and production at their own risks to make them globally available. However, access for patients in need can be restricted due to insufficient medical resources and/or unaffordability. The dilemma between rewarding innovation with prices in line with value and risks for companies and ensuring affordability for patients or health insurances has become critical for all stakeholders, with political and economic implications. The development of universal health coverage puts pressure on governments to control directly or indirectly reimbursement and prices of pharmaceuticals, whereas the flow of innovations addressing infectious, chronic, and life-threatening diseases, thanks to accelerated scientific progress, is growing constantly. Management of pharmaceutical health care expenditure approach varies according to the historical, cultural, and economic backgrounds that contribute to building each health care system, and companies are confronted with a very complex environment to launch their new drugs and manage their lifecycle until loss of patent. This book explores the different models of health care systems (e.g., Europe, United States, Japan, China) and the criteria and processes for decision making in coverage and pricing of pharmaceuticals. Bacopa monnieri is a nootropic herb distributed throughout the warm wetlands of the world. B. monnieri has various medicinal properties, and these medicinal aspects are discussed in several reviews. This article is envisaged in the context of neuroprotection by this herb and its major active constituents. Ancient Vedic scholars frequently used B. monnieri to memorize lengthy sacred hymns and scriptures. In India, in Ayurvedic prescriptions, B. monnieri has been consumed as 'medhyarasayana' (in Sanskrit, 'medhya' -intellect or cognition, 'rasayana' - rejuvenation). Many Ayurvedic preparations prescribed for cognitive dysfunction contain B. monnieri as a prime constituent. In Charaka Samhita (6th century AD), B. monnieri is mentioned as a medicine for the management of mental dysfunctions such as anxiety, poor cognition, and lack of concentration. B. monnieri produces various metabolites such as saponins, alkaloids and sterols. The main active constituents of B. monnieri are dammarane-type triterpenoid saponins known as bacosides with jujubogenin or pseudo jujubogenin as their aglycone units. Bacosides are known for their nootropic and various other biological activities.

Formulation, Development of Mesalamine Tablet for Colon Targeting
The objective of present work was to prepare colon-specific delivery systems for 5-aminosalicylic acid (5-ASA) using fenugreek gum and chitosan as a carrier target to the colon. Methods: Core tablets containing 5-ASA were prepared by wet granulation with using polyvinyl pyrolidone (PVP) as a binder and sodium starch glycolate as a super disintegrant. The prepared granules were evaluated for the angle of repose, compressibility index and Hausner's ratio. The prepared tablets were evaluated the hardness, friability, weight variation and disintegration studies. The core tablets were coated with the concentration of 2%, 5%, and 7% in the ratio of 50:50, 40:60, 60:40, 70:30 and 30:70 of fenugreek gum and chitosan. The enteric coated tablets were characterized for the in vitro disintegration, and dissolution. The drug polymer compatibility studies were determined by using FT-IR study and found out no interaction between the drug and polymers. Results: The formation of complexes between fenugreek gum and chitosan prevents the drug release in the stomach. The tablets coated with 7% concentration solutions in the ratio 70:30 (Fenugreek gum: Chitosan) shows better swelling property.

Pediatric Fractures-Volume II
Despite the high incidence of pediatric injuries, there is still much debate regarding optimal treatment regimes. Although non-operative and surgical treatment techniques have been extensively developed during the past several decades, current management is still more eminence-based rather than evidence-based because of limited scientific evidence. For example, the recently developed comprehensive Dutch clinical practice guidelines on the diagnosis and treatment of the most common pediatric fractures included almost solely "low"- or "very low"-level recommendations based on the Grading of Recommendations Assessment, Development, and Evaluation (GRADE) criteria. The only exceptions were some forearm fracture recommendations, which received "moderate" GRADEs. There is a clear lack of data and a need for higher-level science in pediatric trauma.Considering the success and popularity of the previous Special Issue, entitled "Pediatric Fractures" published in the journal Children, we have published a second Special Issue where we aimed to gather original research papers and review articles related to pediatric fractures, including the diagnosis, treatment, or follow-up of common fractures. Surgery is indicated to cure or palliate numerous physical ailments, and millions of operations are performed worldwide each year. While the risk of complication overall is low because of the presence of trained and skilled surgeons and the adaption of good surgical techniques, complications can still occur even with the most experienced of surgeons or in the simplest of cases. Surgery can be complicated by adverse effects that can affect daily living by impairing quality of life, increasing the cost of health systems through longer hospitalization times and even increasing mortality and decreasing life expectancy. Complications can be more or less severe, can resolve spontaneously or require medical, interventional or surgical treatment and can be specific to the operation performed or general, but all are significant for the patient and are usually the most difficult part of the patient's management. [1] It is estimated that around 20-25 per cent of the worlds adult population have the metabolic syndrome and they are three times as likely to have a heart attack or stroke compared with people without the syndrome. In addition, people with metabolic syndrome have a fivefold greater risk of developing type-2 diabetes. [2] Type-2 diabetes, which accounts for 90% of all diabetes, has become one of the major causes of premature illness and death, mainly through the increased risk of CVD which is responsible for up to 80% of deaths.
Digital Pathology
Digital pathology workflow implementation remains challenging. In laboratories worldwide, there are growing examples of successful implementation and pathologists acknowledging the advantages of this new model of practicing pathology.This Special Issue of Diagnostics is a collection of records of successful digital pathology implementation for primary diagnosis or secondary applications, that serve as an inspiration to those readers who are still skeptical about it. These records highlight the advantages of the use of whole slide images such as sharing and the image analysis, as well as the virtues of the digital workflow per se. The holistic approach of the digital workflow comprehends practical interventions in the laboratory workstations that are demonstrated in this Special Issue, as well as their respective monitorization, quality control and impact on clinical practice.
New Perspectives in Oral Health for Patients with Special Needs and Compromised Older Adults
This Special Issue was designed to provide a multifaceted look at the latest clinical and research findings in the field of geriatric dentistry, which has rapidly gained importance since the beginning of the 21st century. It covers oral frailty, rapid oral health deterioration (ROHD), and oral hypofunction syndrome as comprehensive disease concepts related to the oral health of older people, explains their causes, and introduces the latest technology for diagnosing the deterioration of the oral environment and of oral function. It also discusses the strategy and methodology of oral healthcare in order to prevent declines in oral health and analyzes the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic. Furthermore, the impact of declining oral health on the overall health of older people is discussed from the perspectives of nutritional status, sarcopenia, and frailty.
Recent Advances in Polymeric Delivery Vehicles for Controlled and Sustained Drug Release
The latest advances in drug delivery systems are aimed at delivering drugs in a controlled fashion both temporally and spatially. Polymers have recently been employed in these approaches for drug delivery, tissue engineering, cell encapsulation, the fabrication of medical devices, and a diversity of other biomedical applications. These recent successful applications have demonstrated the superior potential of such polymeric drug-delivery systems in biomedicine.This Special Issue aims to provide an updated account of recent advances in the synthesis, characterization, engineering, and use of polymers, being synthetic or natural, for drug delivery and sustained drug release. We thank all authors for reporting developed novel polymer-based carriers in therapeutics and diagnoses that overcome the limitations associated with drug administration and enhance patients' quality of life.

Enhancing Irbesartan Bioavailability via Solid Dispersion
Hypertension is a prevalent condition, especially in those over 50, and can lead to severe cardiovascular complications. Irbesartan, an angiotensin II receptor blocker (ARB), is commonly used to manage hypertension, but its low aqueous solubility (1 μg/ml) limits its bioavailability. This study aimed to improve Irbesartan's solubility through solid dispersions using carriers like β-cyclodextrin, HPMC K4M, PEG4000, and Gelatin. β-cyclodextrin showed the greatest enhancement in solubility, as confirmed by phase solubility studies. Characterization through DSC and SEM indicated the drug's transformation from crystalline to amorphous form, improving dissolution. FTIR studies confirmed no interaction between the drug and carriers. In vitro dissolution tests revealed that β-cyclodextrin (1:9) formulations significantly increased the dissolution rate compared to pure Irbesartan and other carriers. Thus, using β-cyclodextrin in solid dispersions effectively enhances Irbesartan's solubility and therapeutic potential in treating hypertension.

Alnus glutinosa
Alnus glutinosa (Betulaceae) is a medium-sized tree native to the northern hemisphere. The leaves of this species are used in several Eastern countries as an anti-diarrheal, anti-inflammatory and antipyretic. The aim of this study was to investigate the antioxidant and anti-inflammatory effects and to measure the total polyphenol and flavonoid content of two extracts obtained from A . glutinosa leaves in acetone and methanol. Polyphenol content was determined by the Folin-Ciocalteu reagent method, using gallic acid as the standard. Flavonoids were assessed using the AlCl3 method. Antioxidant activity was measured using the 1,1-diphenyl-2 picrylhydrazyl (DPPH) radical scavenging assay. Anti-inflammatory activity was assessed by measuring the inhibition of denaturation of fresh egg albumin.
