Warring Visions
In Warring Visions, Thy Phu explores photography from dispersed communities throughout Vietnam and the Vietnamese diaspora, both during and after the Vietnam War, to complicate narratives of conflict and memory. While the visual history of the Vietnam War has been dominated by American documentaries and war photography, Phu turns to photographs circulated by the Vietnamese themselves, capturing a range of subjects, occasions, and perspectives. Phu's concept of warring visions refers to contrasts in the use of war photos in North Vietnam, which highlighted national liberation and aligned themselves with an international audience, and those in South Vietnam, which focused on family and everyday survival. Phu also uses warring visions to enlarge the category of war photography, a genre that usually consists of images illustrating the immediacy of combat and the spectacle of violence, pain, and wounded bodies. She pushes this genre beyond such definitions by analyzing pictures of family life, weddings, and other quotidian scenes of life during the war. Phu thus expands our understanding of how war is waged, experienced, and resolved.

Transborder Media Spaces
Transborder Media Spaces offers a new perspective on how media forms like photography, video, radio, television, and the Internet have been appropriated by Mexican indigenous people in the light of transnational migration and ethnopolitical movements. In producing and consuming self-determined media genres, actors in Tamazulapam Mixe and its diaspora community in Los Angeles open up media spaces and seek to forge more equal relations both within Mexico and beyond its borders. It is within these spaces that Ayuujk people carve out their own, at times conflicting, visions of development, modernity, gender, and what it means to be indigenous in the twenty-first century.

Danny Lyon: American Blood
A half-century of social change in America, documented in the writings of Danny Lyon, photographer and author of The Bikeriders and The Destruction of Lower Manhattan"From the beginning, even before he left the University of Chicago and headed south to take up a position as the first staff photographer for the Student Nonviolent Coordinating Committee, Danny Lyon dreamed of being an artist in language as well as in pictures," writes Randy Kennedy in the introduction to American Blood. The Tenderloin
When I moved into the Tenderloin district of San Francisco, almost immediately I noticed the epidemic of homelessness that seemed to blanket the entire neighborhood. Even more prevalent was the problem of drug abuse and alcoholism. It would truly be safe to say that 70-80% of the neighborhoods occupants fall into this category. In my experience, San Francisco has the largest number of homeless people as compared to other cities I have visited. I do realize there are locales such as Detroit, Chicago, and New York that have equal if not larger problems with homelessness, but since San Francisco is where I call home, it will be the focus of this project. People in the Tenderloin were pushing everything from street drugs like heroin and cocaine, to prescription pills like oxy cotin and vicodin. There was almost no reaction to these activities by the local police, except perhaps to unjustly harass individuals that didn't necessarily deserve it. It was almost as if the city created a way to deal with the problem by sectioning off the Tenderloin district for the outcasts of society to thrive in. As long as they stayed out of the wealthy areas, there would be no need for the local government to intervene or develop a long term solution. These are the premises that inspired me. So in the spring of 2006 I walked the streets of the Tenderloin day and night so as I could capture the essence of the area in the most realistic way. All images were shot with a 35 mm film camera. My intention in creating this book is one of enlightenment, so that people of all backgrounds could see the completely ignored deterioration of nearly a dozen city blocks... Streets entirely cluttered with despair placed conveniently within a stones throw of the streets where wealthy tourists shop for thousand dollar handbags and five dollar coffees.

Prague
There is something to say about the elegance of the capitol city of Czech Republic, Prague. This photography book reflects the detail in its baroque architecture, gothic churches and the grand Charles Bridge. Another one of my favourite subjects to shoot in Prague were all of the classic cars on the other side of the Charles Bridge. Also across the bridge, I highly recommend visiting the Lennon Wall. It's covered in dynamic graffiti and lyrics from the Beatles. I've included photographs of this area. While visiting Prague, we attended a classical concert. The musicians and acoustics inside the church were unforgettable, I highly suggest attending a classical concert like this.
Costa Rica
From tropical rainforests, hiking volcanoes to coastline beaches, Costa Rica is one of those places that has it all. This coffee table book reflects the variety in landscapes and vibrant colours of the Pura Vida lifestyle in Costa Rica. The amazing coffee, rice fields and waterfalls were absolutely stunning! This is the first time I saw a sloth in a natural habitat and horses on the beach. Some of the places featured in this book are: Arenal Volcano, Tamarindo and La Paz Falls.
Hawaii
Hawaii is one of the most beautiful places I've ever had the opportunity to photograph! It is exceptionally stunning and reminds me of fantasy place of "Never Never Land" from Disney story Peter Pan. This coffee table book includes images from the Big Island, Maui and Kauai. Of the islands I visited, I enjoyed photographing the island of Kauai the most. It's known as the "Garden Isle" since the majority of the island is covered with tropical rainforest. I had the luxury of photographing the famous "Na Pali Coastline" from two perspectives. One from a zodiac in the water and then another hiking the 35.4km trail.
Greece

The beauty of the sunsets and sailboating around the island...Greece is a country in southeastern Europe with thousands of islands throughout the Aegean and Ionian seas. Influential in ancient times, it's often called the cradle of Western civilization. Athens, its capital, retains landmarks including the 5th-century B.C. Acropolis citadel with the Parthenon temple. Greece is also known for its beaches, from the black sands of Santorini to the party resorts of Mykonos.

Lost Chippenham
The population of Chippenham has grown rapidly in recent decades, transforming it from a sleepy market town to one of the largest towns in Wiltshire today. New suburbs have been built on the outskirts of the town around what would once have been satellite villages or open land. Although many of the historic buildings in the centre of Chippenham have remained, others have gone or are under threat and the way of life on the streets has changed markedly over the years. One of the first industries to arrive in the town in the early years was the manufacture of corsets by the Spirella Company, from 1920 till the 1980s when corsets fell out of fashion and the factory closed. During the Second World War, the factory was also involved in producing parachutes and decoding machinery. The biggest employer in town was British Tabulating Machine Company, later merging with Powers-Samas to become International Computers and Tabulators (ICT) and finally part of International Computers Limited (ICL). At one time the 'Tab' as it was known occupied over 30 factories in Icknield Way. Budapest
Explore the streets of Budapest while flipping through the photography in this coffee table book. One of my favourite things to experience in Budapest were the renown thermal baths. I highly recommend taking time to visit these on your travels. My favourite one was "Rudas Baths" which dates back to the 16th century. Another less known fact, before uniting into one city, Buda and Pest were separate towns. Enjoy the beautiful architecture and famous river throughout this book!
